Alexander -- Cornell (Johnnie) Alexander, 96, died Monday, May 14, 2001. She is survived by her son, L.D. Alexander and wife, Jerri, of Corrales, NM; daughter, Betty Davis of Moriarty, NM; grandchildren, Grady Alexander and wife, Cari, Steven Alexander, Connie Gerber, Debbie Miera and husband, Vernon and Bill Davis; great-grandchildren, Emily Alexander, Haley, Dustin and Miranda Malouff, Brandon and Matthew Miera; sister, Evelyn McDonald of Albuquerque, NM. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and we treasured our time with her. Cremation has taken place and private memorial services have been held. A special thanks to all of the wonderful staff at Sandia Manor Care for taking such good care of her these past 5 months. Clews -- Florence Theresa Clews, 88, departed life at home in the company of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife, who leaves behind two daughters, Julia Denyse Smiley of Pine Island, FL and Shirley Ann Spaulding of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Laurence Anthony Seyl of Rio Rancho, NM, Daniel Peter Seyl of Dawson Creek British Columbia, Canada and Stephen Joseph Seyl Sr. of Bainbridge Island, WA; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the loss of her two husbands, William A. Clews and Lincoln S. Seyl and her granddaughter, Laura Michelle Witt. Florence enjoyed working until the age of eighty-six, and was known and appreciated for her generosity, clear mind and personal independence. She worked many years as an Army Signal Corp. operator at Ft. Sheridan, IL and Sandia Base, NM. In later years she worked in real estate sales and leasing. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 18, 2001, at 1:00 p.m., at Fairview Memorial Park. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care provided by Presbyterian Hospice. Crespy -- Lorraine Crespy, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died on Monday, May 14, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Harry J. Crespy; sons and daughters-in-laws, Harry Adam and Dale of Saline, MI, Charles Thomas and Leigh of Oxford, OH and R. Joel and Julie of Albuquerque; sisters, Katherine Alles of Lincoln, NE and Marie Wennersten of Independence, MO. She was preceded in death by her sister, Joeline Gies and brother, Robert Gies. A devoted mother, Lorraine served as an Air Force wife with her husband in multiple stations across America before finally settling in Albuquerque. A life-long advocate of participation in the political process, Lorraine dedicated years to registering voters in Bernalillo County. A beautiful wife and devoted, loving mother, may her efforts on earth be rewarded in heaven. Services will be held on Friday, May 18, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd N.E. with Rev. Clyde Standfield, officiating. A private interment will follow. Echavarria -- Mr. Demetrio R. Echavarria, 77, died at home on Monday in Albuquerque. Mr. Echavarria is survived by his wife, Elisa; his son, Fernando Echavarria and his wife, Debbie; and his brothers, Navor, Gilbert, Pete, and Lazaro Echavarria. He had worked in civil service and had retired in January of 1980. Demetrio had served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Chapel on Thursday. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Mass for Demetrio will be celebrated on Friday, May 18, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Foley -- Jule Foley, 89, died Tuesday, May 15, 2001. She is survived by her husband, John, of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Barbara Hambleton, of Northeast, MD and several special friends including Doris Guenther of Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Foley was born in New Jersey and moved to Albuquerque in 1977. She worked as a quality control inspector for Westinghouse in their Lamp Manufacturing Division. Mrs. Foley was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Services will be held Thursday, May 17, 2001, 10:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. Johnson -- Lee J. Johnson, 65, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Monday, May 14, 2001. Lee is survived by his sisters, Narcille Ebel and husband, Marvin of Ingleside, TX, Pamela Nye and husband, Robert of Albuquerque, NM and Anna Rose Hunnicutt of El Paso, TX and many loving nephews and nieces. He made many friends at Coronado Shopping Center where he took his walks. Lee was a regular at Miltans on Central. Julian -- Marshal R. Julian, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1934, died Saturday, May 12, 2001. He is survived by his wife, June Julian of the family home; two daughters, Margaret Swain and husband, George of Albuquerque and Lucille Donegan of Keene, NH; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Joyce Scheef of Topeka, KS. Mr. Julian graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1936. He was a veteran of the Army serving during WWII and the Korean War. He was a charter member of the Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Mr. Julian was past president of the Albuquerque Men's Bowling Association and past president of the New Mexico State Mens Bowling Association. He was a member of the Zia Roamers Good Sam RV Chapter, a member and past master of the Zia Daylight Masonic Lodge, and past patron of Eastern Star. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church, 1801 Montano Rd. NW, with Rev. Phil Butin officiating. Kelsey -- Norman Ken Kelsey, a longtime resident of Albuquerque passed away on Friday, May 11 at the age of 76. Mr. Kelsey was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy in both WWII and the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; two daughters, Lori Adams and husband, Ken and Penny Ofiner and husband, Carl; and three grandchildren, Jacob, Michael and Hannah. Lopez -- Mary Lopez was born March 31, 1929, and passed away May 14, 2001. She was a member of Sangre de Cristo Catholic Community. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Jose F. Lopez, son Marion Lopez, sister Lena Montano, and parents Jose and Amalia Montano. She is survived by her three daughters, Amalia Lopez, Mary Lopez, and Marcella Thomas and husband, Eddie; son, Leo Lopez and wife, Lora; sisters, Annie Montano, Clara Del Valle and husband, Pete; brothers, Leandro Montano, Marion Montano and wife, Sally, and Jose Montano and wife, Mary; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, and other family and friends who loved and will miss her. Muller -- Carlos Bernardino Muller born July 7, 1979 died on Saturday, May 12, 2001 in Albuquerque, N.M. Carlos is survived by his parents, Avelino and Victoria Muller; one sister, Monica and niece, Mariah; grandparents, Abelino and Rita Muller, Merlinda Muller and Francisco and Adelfa Amparan. Carlos is also survived by his fiancé, Casandra Serna. She is expecting their child who is due in September 2001. Carlos is eternally loved by his numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Carlos loved his family, singing, rap, playing golf and fishing. He graduated from Manzano High School. Whenever we needed Carlos' helping hand, he was always there for us, he was our handyman. We will always remember Carlos' quiet, shy smile. Carlos is with God. He is now our guardian angel. Peterson -- Frederick H. Peterson, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1952, died on Tuesday, May 15, 2001. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeanne Peterson; son, Frederick R. Peterson of Austin, TX; and sister, Catherine Shoemaker of Vancouver, WA. Frederick served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp. He also was the structural engineer for the US Government and the US Air Force. Peterson -- Kathy Peterson, 58, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001. Rainey -- Pearl Rose Rainey, 92, a resident of Albuquerque for over 65 years, fell asleep in death at her home Saturday, May 12, 2001. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Dudley and husband, Wayne of the family home; two grandsons, Brett Dudley of Nebraska and Kirk Dudley and wife, Kimberly of the family home; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Dudley and Austen Dudley of the family home, and other friends who loved and will miss her. Pearl lived a full and productive life, including 17 years of service with the Albuquerque District, Corp of Engineers. Mr. Spinelli retired after 35 years of service with the City of Gallup Water Department. He was a member of the following organizations, Past Exalted Ruler and District Deputy of the BPOE-Elks Lodge 1440, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Principi Luigi Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cooties, Volunteer Fire Fighter. He was also a World War II Veteran who received a Purple heart for being a USS Indianapolis Survivor. Sterling -- Robert H. Sterling, 70, died May 12, 2001. Mr. Sterling is survived by his wife of 41 years, Fumiko Sterling. Tapia -- Mrs. Carmelita Tapia died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 79. Funeral Services for Mrs. Tapia will be held on Friday at the Catholic Church in Chilili, NM where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Chilili Cemetery. Voss -- James"Dean" Voss, Jr., 21, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 5, 2001 in Penrose, Colorado. Dean was born January 14, 1980 in Albuquerque, NM. Dean, a life long hockey player, loved horseback riding, mountain biking, snowboarding, and he dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot. He is survived by his father, Jim Voss, Sr. of Pueblo West, CO; and sister, Kiesha Voss; his mother, Valerie Jean Smith of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Valerie Dolores Campbell of Tennessee; and three nieces, Alyssa, Krista, and Valerie Jean Campbell of Tennessee; maternal grandparents, Jack and Lorraine Smith of California; aunts, Bernadette Fish, Chris Sherman, Jeannette Puglizevich and uncle Daniel Smith, as well as seventeen maternal cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated today, Thursday, May 17, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Wolfe -- Marjorie H. Hanson-Wolfe, 80, passed away March 26, 2001 in Hamilton, MT. She was born in Rochester, MN August 2, 1920. Marjorie moved to Albuquerque, NM in 1952 and went to work for the Lovelace Clinic where she retired in 1979. She then moved to Deming, NM and was employed by the Mimbres Hospital. She also spent time in Hobbs, NM and lived for one year at the Sunbridge Nursing Home in Belen, NM. She is survived by two daughters, Jane Ann Parke and husband, Terry of Hamilton, MT, Diana Steadman and husband, Neal of Ogden, UT; and one son, Gary Hanson and wife, Bea of Los Lunas, NM; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Rex Waldron of Rochester, MN; also survive her, two sisters, Jane Fryer of Rochester, MN, Joan Rivers of Clovis, NM. She will also be greatly missed by her adopted daughter, Helen Chandler of Deming, NM. Memorial Services to celebrate Marjorie's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2001 at the First Assembly of God Church in Belen, NM.
