Obituary for Clews

Florence Theresa Clews, 88, departed life at home in the company of her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and wife, who leaves behind two daughters, Julia Denyse Smiley of Pine Island, FL and Shirley Ann Spaulding of Albuquerque, NM; sons, Laurence Anthony Seyl of Rio Rancho, NM, Daniel Peter Seyl of Dawson Creek British Columbia, Canada and Stephen Joseph Seyl Sr. of Bainbridge Island, WA; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by the loss of her two husbands, William A. Clews and Lincoln S. Seyl and her granddaughter, Laura Michelle Witt. Florence enjoyed working until the age of eighty-six, and was known and appreciated for her generosity, clear mind and personal independence. She worked many years as an Army Signal Corp. operator at Ft. Sheridan, IL and Sandia Base, NM. In later years she worked in real estate sales and leasing. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 18, 2001, at 1:00 p.m., at Fairview Memorial Park. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care provided by Presbyterian Hospice.
