Obituary for Echavarria

Mr. Demetrio R. Echavarria, 77, died at home on Monday in Albuquerque. Mr. Echavarria is survived by his wife, Elisa; his son, Fernando Echavarria and his wife, Debbie; and his brothers, Navor, Gilbert, Pete, and Lazaro Echavarria. He had worked in civil service and had retired in January of 1980. Demetrio had served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Chapel on Thursday. A Rosary will be recited that evening at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Mass for Demetrio will be celebrated on Friday, May 18, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. Pallbearers will be Douglas Serna, Michael Fico, Michael Duran, Rick Ronquillo, Rick Garcia, and Samuel Chavez. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
