Arnett -- Marvin Lee Arnett, 49, a lifelong Albuquerque resident, died Thursday of complications from Pneumonia at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center. An auto mechanic by trade, he also worked with several charitable organizations, including the Boys and Girls Ranch Thrift Store. He attended Highland High School and Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute. He is the son of Neil A. Arnett, also of Albuquerque, and the late Will S. Arnett. Survivors also include a sister, Grace-Marie Arnett of Alexandria, VA, and John Henry Arnett, currently stationed in Riyad, Saudi Arabia. Services will be held Monday, January 24, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul NE, with the Rev. Myron E. White of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will follow with Patrick Oberg, Cary Berkshire, Alfredo Chavez and Homer Paul Oberg, serving as casket bearers. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, in charge of arrangements.

Contreras -- Andrea Elaine Carroll Contreras died on Friday, January 14, 2000 from complications due to pneumonia at the University Medical Center in Albuquerque. Born June 11, 1948 in Santa Monica, California, she had resided in Albuquerque since 1989. She attended Marlborough School in Los Angeles and received her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from U.C. Berkeley, and her Master's in Education from University of Southern California. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Maximiliano Contreras; her mother, Natalie Carroll of Santa Maria, CA; her brother and two nephews, Jay Carroll, Bryan Carroll and Justin Carroll of Los Osos, CA; and her step-daughter, Sophia Contreras McLean of Nashville, TN. A Memorial service is planned for the summer of 2000. Friends and family will be notified of the date and location.

Cornell -- Lawrence Lincoln (Larry) Cornell, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2000. Mr. Cornell was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 12, 1914. He attended the University of Arizona and Harvard Business School. During World War II, Mr. Cornell was purchasing agent for the Aeroquip Corporation in Jackson, Michigan. He was also affiliated with the Hastings Bookcase and Chair Company in Hastings, Michigan, where he, his wife and children, lived on a farm. In 1947, as assistant general manager in charge of the sales department, Mr. Cornell and Mrs. Jo. Eckert Huber founded Eckert's Furniture Store in Albuquerque. In 1953, Mr. Cornell and John Eckert formed Safety John Glass Company. He was co-owner of Flair Finishing School and Modeling Agency in Albuquerque for 24 years. In the late 1960's he served as CEO/President of the Modeling Association of America. He enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. He had visited Mexico yearly for the past thirty-five years and had a special place in his heart for the Mexican people. Mr. Cornell was a charter member of the Albuquerque Petroleum Club and the Four Hills Country Club. He helped organize the Albuquerque Tennis Club. He was a Sierra Club member, a member of the 100 Club and the Humane Society. He was affiliated with St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mr. Cornell is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret Eckert Cornell of the family home; three daughters, Mary Katherine Cornell of Albuquerque, Grace Luper and husband, Larry of Tequesta, FL; their sons, Dennis Mosqueda and wife, Connie of Las Vegas, NV and Matthew Mosqueda of Phoenix, AZ, JoHannah Williams and husband, Steven and their sons, Ryan, Joseph and Michael Williams, all of Phoenix, AZ; four step great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In honor of his request, a private Memorial Service will be held in Santa Fe, New Mexico. If friends desire, memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Cornell may be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 1800 Martha NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112.

Dolde -- T. Robert Dolde, 82, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000. He is survived by his sisters, Annie L. Dolde of Albuquerque and Lydia Dolde Upshaw of Globe, AZ; brothers, Walter J. Dolde and William H. Dolde, both of Albuquerque; nieces, Jean Jenkins, Ruth Ann Dolde and Cathy Dolde-Duggan; and nephews, Mark Upshaw, David Upshaw and Don Locke. Mr. Dolde was preceded in death by his sisters, Frieda A. Dolde, Margarete Dolde, and Marion Locke; and brother, Howard F. Dolde. He was the youngest of nine children. Mr. Dolde was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church for 82 years. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Mr. Dolde worked for Sandia Base for many years, and he was well known for his love of animals. Services will be held Sunday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastors Larry Wright and Melinda Wagner officiating. Drake -- Harry F. Drake passed away January 20, 2000. He was born in Iola, Kansas on December 12, 1921. Harry proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1942 to 1967. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emojean, whom he was married to for almost 50 years. Harry is survived by his daughter, Kelley Drake of Albuquerque; and his son, Stephen Drake of Austin, TX. He is also survived by his brother, George Drake of Great Bend, KS; daughter-in-law, Becky Drake; and grandson, Michael Drake of Austin, TX. Foster -- Eugene"Bill" S. Foster Jr., age 91, passed away at his home in Truth or Consequences, NM on Thursday, January 13, 2000. A former longtime resident of Albuquerque and Santa Fe, Mr. Foster had lived in Truth or Consequences, NM since 1980. He was born on April 15, 1908 in Archer City, Texas, the son of Eugene S. and the former Edna K. (Crudgington) Foster. A retired heavy equipment operator for the State of New Mexico, Mr. Foster was a member of the Montezuma Masonic Lodge in Santa Fe. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Bette G. and husband, Tom Spoonts of Liberty Hill, TX; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Orlene Foster of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Foster; and by a son, Stephen E. Foster. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held on Monday, January 24, 2000, 2:00 p.m., at the Memorial Garden Cemetery in Santa Fe. Garcia -- Victor Manuel Garcia, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away suddenly early Friday morning. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennie, of 56 years and companion of 63 years. Victor was blessed with seven children, his daughters, Luanne Kozlowski and husband, Richard and Patricia Ortiz and husband, Raymond; his sons, Victor and wife, Bernadette of San Diego, CA, John and wife, Yolanda, Richard and wife, Rebecca, Ron and wife, Debbie and Edward and wife, Tammy. He is also survived by his beloved brothers and sisters, Andrew Garcia and partner, Candy Chavez, Louie and wife, Francis, Joe and wife, Viola of CA, Carmelita Garcia-Salazar, Crucita and husband, Flaviano; 18 grandchildren, Erick, Jennifer, Martin, Brian, Greg, Dominic, Janna, JoVanna, Joshua, Danielle, Victor, Monica, Jocelyn, Candace, John, Gabe, Erica and Elicia; his four great-grandchildren, Ashley, James, Brianna, Julian and one yet to arrive. Victor loved to dance and was best known in Albuquerque as"King of the Jitterbug," a title he earned at the Old Town Society Hall. He served his country proudly during World War II, assigned to the Army Corp of Engineering as a 2nd Lieutenant and also was a Drill Instructor, training thousands of soldiers. In 1952, after being honorably discharged, he and his wife settled in the south valley of Albuquerque where they raised their family. His family and friends will miss his gentle, loving and quiet ways. A Rosary will be recited at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW on Sunday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of the Resurrection will be at the church on Monday, January 24 at 10:30 a.m. with the Burial at Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale SE, to follow. Gonzales -- Rita M. Gonzales, 82, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, January 20, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Jenny Toppel and husband, Roger of Elgin, IL, Carmelita Griego and husband, Frank, Carolina Gonzales, and Marie Newton and husband, Nate, all of Albuquerque; sons, Jaime Gonzales and wife, Gwen of Elgin, IL and Benito Gonzales and wife, Dolores of Albuquerque; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Maria Jaramillo of Albuquerque; and brother, Juanito Garcia and wife, Benny of Albuquerque. Gordon -- Lois S. Gordon, 76, passed away Friday, January 21, 2000. Born in Ovid, Idaho, she had been a resident of Albuquerque since 1949. Lois worked for many years as office manager for New York Life Insurance Company in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Maughn Sagers Gordon in 1945; and in March of 1983 by her second husband, Ralph Naccarato. Survivors include her two sons, Paul M. Gordon and wife, Paige Galvin and Ted Naccarato and wife, Shirley, all of Albuquerque; and by two grandsons, Cameron Gordon and Mark Gordon, also of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her brother, Ted Sorensen and wife, Bonnie of Orem, UT; and by her sister, Anabelle Card and husband, Charles of Salt Lake City, UT; as sell as many other relatives. Griego -- Mr. Kenneth C. Griego Sr., 48, of Tijeras passed away Thursday, January 20, 2000. He was born October 20, 1951 in Gilgham, CO and was a resident of Tijeras since 1989. He was a member of Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #124 for the past 19 years. Mr. Griego was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Mr. Griego is survived by his wife of 24 years, Patricia A. Kelley -- Nancy Y. Williams Kelley died Friday, January 21, 2000 at home after a struggle with cancer. She is survived by five daughters, Debbie Reinhart, Gina Studor, Lori Berger, Kathy Abrams and Samantha Champion; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and John Bentz, whom she considered a son. Mead -- Santa Fe lost an icon on Wednesday, January 12, 2000, with the death of Mary Elizabeth Mead at the age of 98. When not functioning as the Scourge of Trash on the Plaza, she served variously as the secretary of League of Women Voters and the Santa Fe Historical Society. She was named an honorary life member of the Santa Fe Archeological Society and was a docent for the Wheelwright Museum and the School for American Research. After her career with the Marcy C. Wheeler School in Providence, RI, and the Ethel Walker School in Simbury, CT, she retired to Santa Fe to be with her sister's family, Pauline and Pat Patraw, longtime residents of Santa Fe. Menapace -- Robert E."Bud", a lifetime resident of Gallup, departed us on January 22, 2000. Bud was born to Rico and Ethel Menapace, founders of Rico Motor Company in Gallup, on August 16, 1925. He was the past president of Rico Motor Company and was preceded in death by his father, Rico; mother, Ethel; and brother, Francis. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 56 years, Gerry, of Gallup; daughter, Bobbi Adams of Albuquerque; son, Robert Jr. of Elephant Butte; three granddaughters, Lisa and husband, Jeremy Rich of Springfield, VA, Kristen and Carrie Manapace of Albuquerque; brothers, Alan and Howard; and sister, Lorene Pomponi, all of Gallup; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bud served his country in WWII in the U.S. Navy, was a Past Exalted Ruler of Gallup Elk's Lodge #1440, was president of the Wildlife for Wingate Coalition, and the McKinley County Wildlife Association. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited. Bud was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved the outdoors. Honorary pallbearers are Grem Lee, Andy Carrejo, Billy Carrejo, Richard Weigl, Charlie Adams, Gene Taylor and Gene Lewis. Miller -- Cynthia"Cindy" Dawn Miller, 43, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, died Saturday, January 22, 2000. She is survived by her parents, Don and Wilma Miller; brother, W. Doyle Miller and wife, Elizabeth; niece, Kailynn Janelle Miller; nephew, William Jerrod Miller, all of Albuquerque; and numerous family members and friends. She attended school at Sombre Del Monte Elementary, Madison Middle School and graduated from Sandia High School. She was a tremendous influence as an Aunt to Kailynn and Jerrod. She touched the heart of everyone and always left them with a smile. Cindy will be greatly missed. Mueller -- Fredrick V. Mueller, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 21, 2000. Mr. Mueller served his country in the United States Army for 25 years. He was a lifelong member of the DAV and also a member of the Rio Grand Woodcarvers.. Fredrick is survived by his beloved wife, Merle of Albuquerque; his daughter, Christine Davis and her husband, Alan, also of Albuquerque; and his two grandchildren, Jessica, 17 and Ryan, 14. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Olivas -- Maria Julianita"Julia" Olivas passed away peacefully in her sleep, Thursday, January 20, 2000, after 101 years of a fulfilling life. She was born in Aguiliar, NM in 1898. She is survived by her sister, Marcelina Naranjo; her step daughters, Rosa and Demetria; her son, Salomon Sanchez and wife, Helen; a daughter, Juanita Enez and husband, David; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three husbands; Lizardo Sanchez, Felix Madrid, Pete Olivas; three sons, Felix Madrid Jr., Isabel Sanchez and Severo Sanchez; and two grandchildren, Loraine Sanchez and Melecio Sanchez. This wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmothers life spanned three centuries, blessed by God in all three. Roberts -- Netalie Knowles Roberts, 61, passed away January 15, 2000, after a sudden illness. She was born and raised in El Paso, TX and had resided in Albuquerque for the past three years. She is survived by her daughters, Terry Gibson and her husband, Rick, Linda Roberts, Lori Smith and her husband, Andy; a son, John Roberts and his wife, Lorena; six sisters, Mary Quintana, Georgiana Knowles, Nancy Pelton, Jeanette Cooperider and her husband, Harry, Drusilla Madrid and her husband, Robert, Priscilla de la O and her husband, Fred; two brothers, Thomas Knowles and his wife, Carmen, and George Knowles and his wife, Judy; a beloved granddaughter, Koree Smith. Rollins -- Kenneth R."Bob" Rollins, 61, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, died Friday, January 21, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Rollins of the family home; daughter, Tina Westerhold and husband, Charles of Farmington; step-daughter, Deborah; step-son, Darrell; six grandchildren; mother, Lucille Rollins; and brother, Jimmy Rollins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Robert Rollins; and brother, Richard"Dickie" Rollins. Mr. Rollins was retired from the University of New Mexico after 30 years of service. Salas -- Mary Lou Salas, 70, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Friday, January 21, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Maclovio Salas of Albuquerque; daughters, Sandra S. Seidel -- Ruth Seidel, 88, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2000. Ruth was a resident of Albuquerque since 1946 after coming here from El Paso, Texas. Ruth enjoyed her weekly dinner date, a good party and playing bridge with her friends. She will be missed by everybody who knew and loved this wonderful person. She is survived by her son, Rick Seidel; grandchildren, Caroline Seidel, Christopher Seidel and his wife, Susan, Michelle and husband, Bobby Lopez; great-grandchildren, Coralie, Alicia, Christina, Samantha, Jonathan and Stephanie; and nephew, Lawrence Robinson and wife, Polly of Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herb Seidel; and daughter-in-law, Gail Seidel. Sena -- Ray Sena, Jr., age 83, a Foreign Service officer for 24 years before retiring in 1975 as counselor of embassy of Venezuela, died of congestive heart failure on January 16, 2000, at Sibley Memorial Hospital. He was currently living in Washington, DC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Marquart Sena, in 1957; and by one grandchild. Mr. Sena, a native of Albuquerque, NM served in the Army in Europe during World War II. He received three Purple Hearts and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. He was a 1946 graduate of Georgetown University's Foreign Service school. He worked at the Atomic Energy Commission in the late 1940's. In 1959, he received the State Department's Meritorious Service Award for his work at the American Embassy in Beirut a year earlier. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Washington. Mr. Sena is survived by his wife, Eleanor Welch Sena of Washington; four children from his first marriage: Stephen D. Sena and wife, Janet of Springfield, VA, Michael G. Sena and wife, Patricia of Jacksonville, FL, Patrick R. Sena and wife, Nola of San Jose, CA and Barbara Sena Hosenfeld and husband, Leo of Santa Fe, NM; brother, Brig. Gen. (Ret.) Gilbert E. Sena and wife, Reyes of Santa Fe; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Alice Sena of Santa Fe, Mrs. Lucy Sena and Miss Mary Eileen Welch of Washington, DC. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Walton -- Guy Walton Jr., 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Walton of the family home; son, Roy Griffin and wife, Esterlene of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter, Barbara Arias and husband, Charlie of Albuquerque; son, Guy D. Walton of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Kevin, Lesa and Keith Griffin, Gregory and Jeremiah Arias; great-grandson, Shane Griffin; and sister, Juanita Brown of Augusta, GA. Mr. Walton retired from the United States Air Force in 1964 and he worked for the Albuquerque Public Library until his retirement. He was a member of the Navajo Lodge #863. Mr. Walton was a devoted husband and loving and caring father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Yandell -- Joanna W. Yandell, 97, a resident of Albuquerque since 1944, died Friday, January 21, 2000. She is survived by her husband, Desmond Yandell of Albuquerque; sister, Mary Botterwick of Newton, KS; brother, Al Kater and wife, Lorraine of Newton, KS; five nieces and one nephew. Mrs. Yandell was born in Germany on November 10, 1902. Her parents migrated to the United States in 1909 and she later moved to California. She gained her citizenship at Long Beach, CA in 1940. During World War II, Mrs. Yandell went to stay with her mother while her brothers were away in the military service. She moved to Albuquerque in 1944 where she met Desmond, and they were married in 1946. Mrs. Yandell worked for the Broome Furniture Company for over 20 years before retiring. She was a member of Heights Christian Church for 35 years. Visitation will be Sunday, January 23, 2000 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel.
