Andrea Elaine Carroll Contreras died on Friday, January 14, 2000 from complications due to pneumonia at the University Medical Center in Albuquerque. Born June 11, 1948 in Santa Monica, California, she had resided in Albuquerque since 1989. She attended Marlborough School in Los Angeles and received her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from U.C. Berkeley, and her Master's in Education from University of Southern California. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Maximiliano Contreras; her mother, Natalie Carroll of Santa Maria, CA; her brother and two nephews, Jay Carroll, Bryan Carroll and Justin Carroll of Los Osos, CA; and her step-daughter, Sophia Contreras McLean of Nashville, TN. A Memorial service is planned for the summer of 2000. Friends and family will be notified of the date and location.
