Arrington -- Alice"Millie" Mildred Graves Arrington, 82, of Fort Sumner, died Tuesday, September 14, 1999 at the Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, following an illness. Mrs. Arrington was born May 20, 1917 in Marietta, Oklahoma to the home of Tommie M. Lambert and the former Callie M. Askew. She was reared and attended school at Marietta, Oklahoma. She married Charles Albert Graves on January 28, 1934 in Marietta, Oklahoma. She later made her home in Albuquerque, where she worked for Sandia Corporation as a printer for 21 years. She met Thomas Reid Arrington and was married to him on October 2, 1971 in Roswell, NM. Following their retirement, they made their home at Lake Sumner in 1973. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner since 1988 and also a member of the Good Sams Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles Albert Graves in 1957, Oscar Oberle, and Thomas Reid Arrington in 1987; one son, Foy Dean Graves in 1999; and a great-grandchild. Survivors include a son, Vannie Graves and wife, Paulette of Kerville, TX; a daughter-in-law, Kay Graves of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Marcell Lambert and wife, Nancy of Mesa, AZ and H.B. Lambert and wife, Virginia of Stanton, CA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and relatives. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 1999, from Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 1999, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Chavez Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.

Boyd -- Phoebe R. Boyd, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, passed away Friday, September 10, 1999. Mrs. Boyd was born in Mt. Carmel, PA on September 3, 1910, to Anthony and Xenia (Kusmic) Reyda, both of Austria. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Warland F. (Pete) Boyd. They were members of the Cathedral Church of St. John. Phoebe was a wonderful person who was well liked and respected by those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Matthew Reyda, Joseph Reyda, Ann R. Skinner and Helen R. Robilotto. She is survived by her sisters, Mary R. Blair, Martha R. Keppel; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Manzano del Sol Good Samaritan Village. Interment will take place at Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, CO. Davidson -- Ruth Davidson, 77, of Liberty, Missouri (formally of Albuquerque), died Monday, September 13, 1999 at the Pleasant Valley Care Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Liberty United Methodist Church. Burial in New Hope Cemetery, Liberty. The family suggests contributions to the Liberty United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. Friends may call from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, at the Church-Archer-Pasley Chapel, Liberty. Mrs. Davidson was born January 19, 1922 in Cromwell, Ind., the daughter of John R. and Laura E. Hart Twaits. Mrs. Davidson was a sales clerk for J.C. Penney Department Store from 1972 until 1985. From 1985 until her retirement in 1994, she worked as a greeter and cashier for the Liberty Wal-Mart Store. She was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church. Her husband, George W. Davidson, died in 1985. She is survived by four sons, Duane and wife, Mary Jo Davidson, Jack and wife, Connie Davidson, both of Liberty, Robert and wife, Leaetta, Lathrop and Ron Davidson of Liberty; a brother, Melvin Twaite of Kimmell, Ind.; a sister, Alice Cripe of Millerburg, Ind.; five grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Rob Davidson, Bill Davidson, Jamie Davidson, and Stephen Davidson.

Dove -- James Edward Dove, 56, New Mexico native and resident of Las Vegas since 1994, passed away Wednesday morning, September 9, at Las Vegas Regional Medical Center. James was born November 16, 1942. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Mae Dove. He was a Catholic. James' interests included a love for science and research. He had an enthusiasm for writing and music. He enjoyed games and was an avid sports fan. James enjoyed people. We would like to thank all the caring and thoughtful residents and staff who helped James, including Mel Pino at Las Vegas Ponderosa Four, and especially Naomi Montoya, Administrator at Southwest Senior Care in Las Vegas, for their kindness and concern. James is survived by his surrogate nephews, Matthew and Thomas Cantwell of Deltona, FL as well as many friends. He will be missed and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his love for all God's creatures. A Memorial service will be held at the Chapel at Las Vegas Medical Center on Tuesday, September 14. Interment will be at Memorial Gardens, Albuquerque. Gallegos -- Federico Gallegos"Fred" passed away peacefully in his sleep, August 7, 1999 at Ft. Bayard Medical Center in Fort Bayard, NM. Fred was born July 21, 1914 in San Marcial, NM to Juan Gallegos and Mariano Olguin Gallegos. Fred was a former Socorro County rancher and businessman. He ran bars in San Antonio and Belen, NM. Lastly, he and his wife, Rosie owned and operated The Willow Inn bar in Bosque, NM for over 25 years. He owned ranches in Val Verde and Socorro, NM for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosaura Baca Gallegos; two brothers, Juan Maria and Jose Angel Gallegos; two sisters, Maria Delfina Gallegos Parkinson and Gertrude Gloria Gallegos Diaz. Fred is survived by 17 nephews and nieces and their children. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 16, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church located on Fourth Street and Stover, Albuquerque. Interment of cremains will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd. NE.

Garcia -- Mr. John Garcia died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 58. Mr. Garcia was a member of the American Legion Post 100. He is survived by his wife, June Garcia; son, Christopher Garcia; daughter, Crystal Garcia; mother-in-law, Mary Romero; brothers, Walter Garcia, Carlos Garcia, Orlando Garcia and George Garcia; sister, Arminda Lovelace; brothers-in-law, Joseph Romero and Frank Romero; and many nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Mr. Garcia will be held on Friday at the St. Therese Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers will be Joseph Romero, Frank Romero, James Baca, Albert Lucero and Christopher Garcia. Ginter -- W. June Ginter, 71, an Albuquerque resident since 1967, died Saturday, September 11, 1999. Mrs. Ginter was a member of Los Altos Christian Church. She worked for the US Bankruptcy Court for 33 years, retiring as chief deputy clerk in 1994. Survivors include her son, Tim Ginter and wife, Kim of Yukon, OK; daughter, Pam Tiley and husband, Ron of Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren, Johnathan Ginter and Ashley Ginter, both of Yukon, OK and Justin Tiley of Scottsdale, AZ; sisters, Bobbie Brownell of Kansas, Angie Bissey of Florida, Lorraine Good of Iowa, Mabel Kapp of Texas and Mary Drake of Washington; brother-in-law, Harold Farley of Canada. Hoermann -- Helen Louise Hoermann, age 94, passed away on Saturday, September 11, 1999. She is survived by Louise Lewis and husband, Stewart, Rosemary Williams and husband, Bob; two grandchildren, James and wife, Theresa Williams of Seattle, WA, Gena Breck and husband, Austin of Las Cruces, NM; one great-grandchild, McKaela Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. C.E. Hoermann. They settled in Mountainair, New Mexico in 1935, where he built the Mountainair Hospital, in 1952 they moved to Albuquerque. Helen was a 50 year member of the P.E.O. Chapter AA in Albuquerque. Jones -- George (Bill) William Jones, 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, went home to the Lord on September 10, 1999. He was born on October 2, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY. He is survived by his daughter, Doris Clark, and grandchildren, Billy and Meredith; daughter, Beth Treibel and husband, Steve, with grandson, Daniel; son, Ken Jones and wife, Diann; twin sister, Jean Crawford, all of Albuquerque; brother, Richard Jones and wife, Pat of Ohio, grandson, P.J. Jones; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was a member of Sandia Nazarene Church. He was the manager of Acme Wrecker Service until his medical retirement in 1983. He was actively involved in many church activities and with the Boy Scouts of America until his health failed. He was also"BJ the Clown" and enjoyed making others smile. He loved his family, working with children, music, the water, and was an avid auto racing fan. His kind heart and gentle nature will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Carl Clark, Catholic Social Services, the Lovelace Heart Clinic and Manzano Del Sol Health Care Center for their care and support. Montano -- Willie G. Montano, 78, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 12, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Willie was a proud World War II Veteran who served in the United States Army; and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Elsie Montano; his children, David Montano and Daina Patrick, Gina Miller and husband, Mark, Desiree Gonzales and Alejandro Sena, Beverly Montano, and Don Montano; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Also is one sister, Margaret Lopez and husband, Richard; one brother, Andrew Montano; numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Northam -- Christine Northam, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Wednesday, September 15, 1999. She is survived by her sisters, Faye King of Edgewood and Blanche Hart of Hydro, OK; nephews, Bill Adkins of Los Lunas, Tom Adkins of Albuquerque, Joe King and Herman Brannon, both of Edgewood, Dale Hart of Oklahoma, David Northam of Las Vegas, NV and Bill Northam of Massachusetts; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a secretary at Sandia National Labs until her retirement in 1989. While her health was good, she loved to travel in the United States and abroad, and she loved to socialize. She was loved very much by her sisters and nephews, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Oliva -- Palma Euvonne Oliva, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Monday, September 13, 1999. She was born in Bonner Springs, KS on November 30, 1924. She is survived by her mother, Madge Alexander; son, Tony Oliva; and daughter, Stella Oliva, all of Albuquerque. Mrs. Oliva was employed by Sandia Laboratories for 27 years. She retired in 1983 due to disabling illnesses which restricted her to her home over the following years. Throughout that time, her love, courage and indomitable ability to be thankful for the blessings she had, continued to sustain her and us, her family. We miss her so much. Rakocy -- Eleanor Rakocy, 67, died Monday, September 13, at Joy Junction, where she was employed as the shelter's administrative assistant. Eleanor was a tireless worker at Joy Junction and is already being greatly missed at the shelter. However, our loss is heaven's gain. Sandoval -- Leonie (Eleonila Lucinda) Sandoval, age 50, passed away September 14, 1999. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Ruth Garcia; her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her father, Merenciano Sandoval of San Ysidro Norte, NM; her mother, Eufemia Aragon of San Pablo, NM; her husband, Alden Lopez of Ojo Sarco, NM; one son, Clarence Lopez and wife, Michelle of Rio Rancho; one daughter, Erika Lopez of Albuquerque; two granddaughters, Gabriela Lopez of Albuquerque and Deziree Lopez; two sisters, Nora Tafoya and husband, Harold of Bernalillo and Sister Alicia Sandoval of Henderson, NV; one Godfather, Leopoldo Gomez of Albuquerque; several nieces and nephews. Leonie attended Battle Mountain High School. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting. Visitations will be held today, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Tinker -- Georgia H. Smith Tinker, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away September 13, 1999. Georgia was born in Corsicana, Texas on April 23, 1913. She was raised in Kemp, Texas and graduated from Kemp High School. She then attended the Parkland School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas. In 1935, she moved to New Mexico shortly after her marriage to Travis Smith. After living in Idaho and Texas, she moved to New Mexico in 1951. In 1966, Georgia and Travis moved to Pecos, New Mexico and began the campground and development called Hidden Valley. They were later divorced, but Georgia continued with the campground and a subdivision development with great dedication and sacrifice. She became very involved in the League of Women Voters and served as the Albuquerque President from 1958-1960. She later became a member of the Republican Inner Circle and spent many hours in our Nation's Capitol, helping format policy. She has also served on the Presidential Roundtable. Besides her family and friends, her greatest loves were fishing and painting. She studied under the renowned artist, Carl Von Hassler. Her oil paintings of Aspens and Adobes were exceptional. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and George W. Howell; first husband, Travis Smith; second husband, Nick Tinker; and sister, Vera Ingram. Georgia is survived by her son, George H. Smith of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandra Elkins and husband, Dugan of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Ann Barr of Dallas, TX; grandson, Randy Elkins and wife, Sandi of McKinney, TX; granddaughter, Celeste Ehlers and husband, Patrick of Albuquerque; grandson, Rick Elkins and wife, Dena of Colorado Springs, CO; great-granddaughter, Kalyn Elkins of Colorado Springs, CO; great-grandsons, Jonathan Smith and Zackery Ehlers of Albuquerque, Ryan Altman, Justin Altman, and Christopher Altman of McKinney, TX; nephews, Orville Jobe and John Barr of Texas; nieces, Noel Williams and Avis Jobe of Texas; her extended families and many, many special friends. A very special thank you from the family of Maya Najer for her love and care of Georgia during her last years. Williams -- Arthur Nealy Williams, 67, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 1999. He was a mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Gallup, NM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Meece; his parents, Lawrence and Emma Williams; five brothers, Conrad, Lawrence Jr., Willie Dollie, and Hence Williams; one sister, Florence Wade. Arthur is survived by his four sisters, Leona, Ora Bell, Pauly and Nellie; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; six daughters, Earry Schray of Albuquerque, Patricia A. Gutierrez of Belen, and Roseanna Bacon of Albuquerque, Diane, Julie and Barbara; two sons, Arthur Pearcy and J.D. Leatherman. Arthur is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
