Arrington -- Alice"Millie" Mildred Graves Arrington, 82, of Fort Sumner, died Tuesday, September 14, 1999 at the Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis, following an illness. Mrs. Arrington was born May 20, 1917 in Marietta, Oklahoma to the home of Tommie M. Lambert and the former Callie M. Askew. She was reared and attended school at Marietta, Oklahoma. She married Charles Albert Graves on January 28, 1934 in Marietta, Oklahoma. She later made her home in Albuquerque, where she worked for Sandia Corporation as a printer for 21 years. She met Thomas Reid Arrington and was married to him on October 2, 1971 in Roswell, NM. Following their retirement, they made their home at Lake Sumner in 1973. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Fort Sumner since 1988 and also a member of the Good Sams Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles Albert Graves in 1957, Oscar Oberle, and Thomas Reid Arrington in 1987; one son, Foy Dean Graves in 1999; and a great-grandchild. Survivors include a son, Vannie Graves and wife, Paulette of Kerville, TX; a daughter-in-law, Kay Graves of Lubbock, TX; two brothers, Marcell Lambert and wife, Nancy of Mesa, AZ and H.B. Lambert and wife, Virginia of Stanton, CA; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends and relatives. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 1999, from Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 16, 1999, from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Chavez Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home in Fort Sumner.
