Obituary for Jones

George (Bill) William Jones, 66, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, went home to the Lord on September 10, 1999. He was born on October 2, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY. He is survived by his daughter, Doris Clark, and grandchildren, Billy and Meredith; daughter, Beth Treibel and husband, Steve, with grandson, Daniel; son, Ken Jones and wife, Diann; twin sister, Jean Crawford, all of Albuquerque; brother, Richard Jones and wife, Pat of Ohio, grandson, P.J. Jones; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was a member of Sandia Nazarene Church. He was the manager of Acme Wrecker Service until his medical retirement in 1983. He was actively involved in many church activities and with the Boy Scouts of America until his health failed. He was also"BJ the Clown" and enjoyed making others smile. He loved his family, working with children, music, the water, and was an avid auto racing fan. His kind heart and gentle nature will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Carl Clark, Catholic Social Services, the Lovelace Heart Clinic and Manzano Del Sol Health Care Center for their care and support. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 18, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Sandia Nazarene Church, 2810 Louisiana Blvd. NE. Mr. Jones has donated his body to the UNM School of Medicine in hope that others may benefit from the research of his diseases. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
