Obituary for Montano

Willie G. Montano, 78, a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 12, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Willie was a proud World War II Veteran who served in the United States Army; and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Elsie Montano; his children, David Montano and Daina Patrick, Gina Miller and husband, Mark, Desiree Gonzales and Alejandro Sena, Beverly Montano, and Don Montano; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Also is one sister, Margaret Lopez and husband, Richard; one brother, Andrew Montano; numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 11:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont Ave. NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Peter Lucero, Rick Lucero, Joe Lucero, Joe Lopez, Mark Miller and Alejandro Sena. Honorary bearer will be Amado Otero. Military honors will be accorded by the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. Funeral services are in the care and direction of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW.
