Baca -- Lucille M. Baca, 56, of Albuquerque, passed away on July 17, 1999. She was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on August 30, 1942 to Adolfo and Nestora Baca. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Brenda, Samantha, Rebecca and Dyonn Summerall, all of Albuquerque; sons, Ray Melvin Summerall of Albuquerque and Vincent Conover of Toms River, New Jersey; her brothers, Jose Baca Jr. of Albuquerque, Richard Baca of San Diego, California and Nestor Baca of Toms River, NJ; sisters, Tomasita Baca of Toms River, NJ, Elvita Ramirez of Sacramento, CA and Rachel Hurt of Toms River, NJ. Lucille is also survived by grandsons, Michael, Ralph, Shaun, Steven Summerall and Anthony Hernandez; her granddaughters, Renee Hernandez, Camille, Samantha, Mariah and Sharane Summerall. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 1999 at Hillcrest Funeral Home and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Parish on Broadway SE. Fikani -- Dorothy M. Fikani, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Friday, July 16, 1999. She is survived by her son, Michael M. Fikani of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law, Maxine Fouch of Albuquerque and Kathryn Benham of El Paso, TX; brother-in-law, Dudley Perrett of Clayton; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fikani was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Fikani. She was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Fikani worked at the Alvarado Hotel. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #401. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, July 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Rev. Lemuel M. Hansen -- Eugene Laurence Hansen of Corrales, New Mexico, was born May 14, 1920 in Lake City, Minnesota. He was the son of Emmanuel Schuneaman Hansen and Mary Adeline Isabel Crusoe. He passed away at his home peacefully on Saturday, July 17, 1999 at age 79 year, two months. Gene and his family moved to Albuquerque in 1949. He worked at Sandia Laboratories until his retirement in 1980. He was a long time amateur radio operator and invented special antennas including one for"ham" radio operators. He was well known to amateur radio operators throughout the country and overseas, as well as locally. Gene was a lifelong member of and active in the Catholic Church. He remained active with his family and friends up to the day of his passing. He is survived by his wife, Ethel May Sloter Hansen; four daughters, Mary Belinda Hansen of Albuquerque, Rebecca Kathleen Hansen of Los Angeles, Christine M. Shoesmith of Albuquerque, and Laurel Jean Taylor of Albuquerque; three sons, Gregory Frederick Hansen of San Diego, Mark Joseph Hansen of Albuquerque, and Michael Eugene Hansen of San Diego; six grandchildren, Matthew T. Rosandich, Sara Elizabeth Hansen, Victoria E. Shoesmith, Elihu Robert Blackmon, Chanel Marie Blackmon, and Mychal Spring Taylor; three step-grandchildren; and two brothers, Joseph Hansen and Vincent Hansen. His sister, Margaret Hansen, predeceased him. He is also survived by a number of close friends, all of whom will ever hold his memory. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming NE. Mass to be announced. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Harvey -- Jean O. Harvey, 73, a longtime resident of Estancia, passed away July 17, 1999 in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Harvey was born October 25, 1925 to Merrill A. and Helen E. (Hosker) Otis, in Longmont, CO. In April of 1964 she married J.C. Harvey in Fort Sumner, NM. He preceded her in death in December 13, 1993. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Estancia, NM. She was also a member of the Paint Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association, the Mavericks, and the Estancia Bridge Club. Jean O. Harvey will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Mrs. Harvey is survived by two daughters and son-in law, Sue and Bruce Dile of Estancia, NM and Mary Harvey, also of Estancia, NM; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and April Harvey of Las Vegas, NM; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 21, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at the Estancia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andy Otis, Mike Otis, Jeff Harvey, Chad Harvey, Gene Harvey and Larry Burnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Golden, Mike Harvey, Bill Cotton, and Packy Vaughn. Leonard -- Richard"Dick" Leonard was born in Clinton, OK on March 15, 1942. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1959. Richard graduated from Highland High School and from the University of New Mexico. Richard was Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard at Sabine Pass, TX doing Port Security and Law Enforcement. At the time of his death on July 15, 1999, Dick was Director of Albuquerque Police Department's Crime Prevention Program. He is survived by his son, Devin Leonard; daughter, Kimber Pacheco, both of Albuquerque. Also, by his two brothers, Jim Leonard of Santa Monica, CA and Mark Leonard of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway SE, in Albuquerque. Sunrise Society is serving the family. 891-8200.

Litwin -- Neal E. Litwin, 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, died on Tuesday, June 29, 1999. Mr. Litwin was born on May 8, 1924, in Connecticut. He was a pilot during World War II, and the Korean Conflict. A graduate of Aviation Cadet School at a young age, he earned the respect of his peers for his dedication to his country, and to his learning of the art of flying. During the Korean Conflict, he continued his aviation career qualifying to fly the latest jet aircraft. After his active flying career ended, he established a distinguished career in the furniture industry as a buyer and merchandiser for several of the leading furniture retailers in the country. He retired from American Furniture Company, Inc. in Albuquerque in 1992. Neal touched many lives during his life. He told wonderful and entertaining recaps of his life and the people in it. His sense of humor was unique as was his life. A true friend and businessman, he is and will be missed. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 22, 1999, 5:00 p.m., at French Mortuary-Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.

Madrid -- Barbara Madrid, age, 69, born on July 29, 1929, passed away July 14, 1999. She is preceded in death by her parents; Ricardo Madrid and Teresita. Barbara is survived by two sons, Steven Garcia and Ruben Saiz; two daughters, Priscilla Sanchez and husband Lornezo, and Emily Garcia-Madrid and husband Primitivo (Tivo); eight grandchildren; three brothers, Amadito Armijo and wife, Jenny, Manuel Armijo and wife, Donna, Eddie Madrid and wife, Yolanda; two sisters, Sadie McGinnis, Cristela Martinez and husband, Charlie, all of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. She also had many nephews and nieces whom she loved dearly. Barbara loved playing the guitar, singing, collecting sad faced clowns, dolls, shopping, going to the casino, and the airport to see the airplanes land and watching the show Jeopardy. She will be greatly missed by her loving family. A Memorial Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Majerus -- Tonya A. Majerus, 23, of Albuquerque, passed away on July 15, 1999. Tonya was born on April 1, 1976 in Minnesota. She is survived by her mother, Linda Knierim of Albuquerque; and her father, William Majerus of New Castle, CO; a son, Santana; a daughter, Angelica; grandmothers, Helen Erickson of Albuquerque and Christine Majerus of Milaca, MN; uncles, Steve Erickson of Castaic, CA, Ted Majerus, Tom Majerus and James Majerus of Milaca, NM; aunts, Margaret of Colorado Springs, CO and Debbie Nues of Champlain, MN; finance Tom Sena of Albuquerque. Mayer -- Ilse Y. Mayer, 83, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on Friday, July 16, 1999. She was born on December 13, 1915 in Leipzig, Germany. Her family owned Joske's Department Store which was taken over by the Nazi's. She is preceded in death by her husband. She and her family were survivors of the holocaust. She retired from U.N.M. Upon her retirement she was an outstanding member of the Albuquerque Chapter of Hadassah and will be missed by all the members who knew her. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Albuquerque Chapter of Hadassah or B'nai Israel. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, July 19, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. in Fairview Memorial Park, 700 Yale Blvd SE with Rabbi Celnik and Cantor Josh Peralman officiating. Nance -- John A. Nance, a longtime printer with Albuquerque Publishing Company and a resident of Belen, died July 14, 1999. He is survived by a wife, Marcella M. Nance; a brother, Richard H. Nance and wife, Lucille; three nieces, Marilyn Justice, Catherine L. Wieland and Victoria R. Nance; and two nephews, Chester Cook Jr. and Franklin R. Nance. Mr. Nance was born June 4, 1920, south of Mountainair, NM, to Horace and Exa M. Nance. Over the years he owned a chicken ranch, an apple orchard, and acreage in Belen and Placitas. He will be missed by those who loved him. Plans for a memorial service are pending.

Reeves -- Ruth Naomi Reeves, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 33 years and a previous resident of Springer, NM for many years, died Friday, July 16, 1999. She was born November 13, 1909 in Fort Scott, KS to David and Catherine Williams six weeks after they came to this country from Wales. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jack L. Reeves, two infant daughters, one son, Jack W. Reeves and two sisters, Sally Gould and Rose Mae Huddleston. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Flowers and husband, Nevins of Springer, NM; son, Robert A. Reeves and Lea of Oklahoma City, OK; grandsons, Dwain Thomas Flowers of Springer, NM, Billy Jack Reeves and Shawn Reeves, both of Ohio; granddaughter, Tracy Mahaffey of Ohio; five great-grandsons; sister, Elizabeth Neill of Albuquerque, who took loving care of her for several years and with who she had made her home since coming to Albuquerque in 1966; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth was a friend to everyone and she loved her family and her family loved her. She will be missed by all. Robinson -- Linda Jean Robinson, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, passed quietly away on Thursday, July 15, 1999. She was born May 3, 1953 in Frankfort, Germany where her father was serving with the U.S. Army. Survivors include her beloved husband, Glen M. Robinson; daughters, Jennifer A. Andre and her husband, Robert of Albuquerque, and Cheryl L. Hernandaz and husband, Byron of Baker, CA. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Christopher and Brandon Andre of Albuquerque, Sarah and Michael Rosson of Rio Rancho, and Alicia Hernandaz of Baker, CA; her mother, Sue McArthur of Albuquerque; and her sisters, Mary Searles of Albuquerque and Suzanne Babcock of San Jose, CA. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Charles F. McArthur, in 1992. There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, July 20, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 9500 Constitution NE. Sanchez -- John M. Sanchez Sr., 54, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, July 16, 1999 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Paulette; son, John and wife, Tami; daughter, Jude Montoya and husband, Tony; son, Rohn; his grandchildren, Alexis and Zachary Sanchez, all of Albuquerque; brothers, Stephen Sanchez and wife, Kathy of Albuquerque and Robert Sanchez and wife, Cessie of San Antonio, TX; and a large, loving family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma R. Sanchez. John recently retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools after 26 years of service. He was a teacher, coach, and counselor at several Albuquerque schools including Five Points Elementary School, Washington Middle School, Albuquerque High School, West Mesa High School and Rio Grande High School. He also served as the Dean of Students at the University of Albuquerque for five years. Rosary will be recited Sunday, 7:30 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1818 Coal Place SE, with Deacon Pilar Garcia reciting. Silva -- Peter M. Silva, 50, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 15, 1999. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church. Peter served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion and worked for the City of Albuquerque for several years. Peter was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth in 1975; his brother, Paul, also in 1975. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Inez, of the family home in Los Lunas; his five children, Riva Martinez and husband, Marvin, Minette Silva, Rachel Silva, Alex Silva and Peter Silva, all of Los Lunas; two grandchildren, Estevan and Elizabeth Martinez; his mother, Rachel Silva of Albuquerque; one brother, Isidro and wife, Jackie; sister, Betty Olguin and brother-in-law, Bobby Olguin, all of Los Lunas, Molly Medina of Santa Ana, CA, Eva Ramirez and husband, Manuel of West Covina, CA, Bertha Gabriella Garcia and husband, Rudy of Albuquerque. Peter is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. Tant -- Lucille E. Tant, 72, passed away Friday, July 16, 1999. She was born September 28, 1926, in York, Nebraska. She has made Albuquerque her home for the last 34 years and retired from Digital Equipment Corp. She is survived by her husband, Bob; three daughters and their husbands, Callie and Terry, Karen and Bob, Sandra and Edward; eight grandchildren, Brandon, Alice, Alisha, Becky, Eva, Lee, Amanda and Shawna; one great-grandchild, Adam; her sister, Iona; and brothers, Bud, Ken, Bob, and their families. There will be a visitation on Monday, July 19 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle N.E. with Todd Salwedel officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be Edward Mays, Terry Habish, Bob Varga, Lee Habish, Brandon Mosley and Dwight Irish. Vance -- Arthur"Leon" Vance, 69, a resident of Albuquerque for 37 years, died Thursday, July 15, 1999. He is survived by his wife, DeeOra Vance of the family home; daughters, Lonnie Harris and husband, Stephen, Karen D. Vance, and Patti Plake and husband, Larry, all of Albuquerque; sons, Marlin Kincaid, Thomas Leon Vance, and William John Vance and wife, Cecilia, all of Albuquerque; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters, Nannie Howey of LaJara, CO, and Norma Walstrom and husband, Clarence of Alamosa, CO. Mr. Vance moved from Colorado to Albuquerque in 1962. He was employed by ABF/Navajo Trucking Co. until his retirement in 1986. Services will be Monday, 1:00 p.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints-Manzano Ward, 12701 Indian School Rd. NE, with Bishop Wheelwright conducting.
