Richard"Dick" Leonard was born in Clinton, OK on March 15, 1942. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1959. Richard graduated from Highland High School and from the University of New Mexico. Richard was Lieutenant in the U.S. Coast Guard at Sabine Pass, TX doing Port Security and Law Enforcement. At the time of his death on July 15, 1999, Dick was Director of Albuquerque Police Department's Crime Prevention Program. He is survived by his son, Devin Leonard; daughter, Kimber Pacheco, both of Albuquerque. Also, by his two brothers, Jim Leonard of Santa Monica, CA and Mark Leonard of Albuquerque. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 21, at the First Baptist Church, 101 Broadway SE, in Albuquerque. Sunrise Society is serving the family. 891-8200.
