Carrillo -- Mrs. Rosa Carrillo, 33, and her ten month old son Allen both residents of Albuquerque passed away on May 30, 1999 as a result of a car accident. Mrs. Carrillo is survived by her beloved husband, Hector; sons, Hector Carrillo Jr. and Christian Carrillo; her mother, Claudia Gamez; one brother, Humberto Felix; four sisters, Teresa, Isabel, Maria and Anglica; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Allen is survived by his father, Hector; his brothers, Hector Carrillo Jr., and Christian Carrillo; his grandmother, Claudia Gamez; an uncle, Humberto Felix; four aunts, Teresa, Isabel, Maria and Angelica and many other relatives, cousins and friends. A rosary will be recited Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. at San Jose Catholic Church, 2401 Broadway S.E. with mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Father Alberti, Celebrant of the Mass. Conway -- Robert Patrick, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, died from complications following a stroke on Sunday, May 30, 1999 at Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque with his family at his side. He was the son of Hugh Conway and Minnie Bell Ellis Conway of Clyde, Wisconsin. He is survived by his wife, Nelle Conway, of the family home; five daughters and one son. His wife of 52 years, Helen Marie Smelich Conway, died in 1991 at the age of 80. A son, Captain Harold Joseph Conway, was killed in a plane crash in 1976 at the age of 27. Present family members include Patricia and William Barron of Honolulu, Flo Conway and Jim Siegelman of New York City, Bob Conway, Jr., his wife, Virginia and their children, Christine and Vincent of Albuquerque, Kathleen"Kacey" Conway and Patrick Green of Grand Junction, Colorado, Loretta Conway and John Mitchell, M.D. of Zionsville, PA, and Helen"Holly" Conway of Charlottesville, VA. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening June 2, 1999 and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona, SE. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday morning, June 3, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church with Msgr. Fred Stadtmueller, Fr. Albert Podvin and Fr. P."Bob" Conway was a pioneering figure in the New Mexico insurance industry and in professional and charitable activities statewide and nationally. He was born October 26, 1914 on the family farm in southern Wisconsin, graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1932 and attended teacher's training school. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression years of 1933-34 and after leaving the CCC taught all eight grades in the country school he had attended as a child. In 1936, he moved to Arizona and worked for the Phelps Dodge Corporation in Ajo. In 1938, he was appointed a part-time agent for the State Farm Insurance Companies in Ajo and met Helen Smelich, a Registered Nurse from Pueblo, Colorado. He and Helen were married in 1939. In 1942, State Farm invited him to come to Albuquerque to develop the companys operations in northern New Mexico. The Conway Agency grew to 33 agents and in 1973, became the top producing district in the nationwide State Farm organization. The New Mexico Room at the American College of Life Underwriters in Bryn Mawr, PA is dedicated in his name. Bob was involved in fund raising for almost 60 years. He served as chairman for Catholic Charities in Albuquerque and headed the fund raising campaigns for the building of the Heights Catholic grade school and Pius X High School. In the 1950s and 1960s, his principal volunteer activity was the March of Dimes State Chairman. He was a founder of the New Mexico Independent College Association. He was active in the Serra Club for more than 40 years and served two terms as its President. He was a 40 Year Monarch of the Lions Club and in 1995 was named a Melvin Jones Fellow of the Lions Club International Foundation. With his wife, Helen, he founded the New Mexico Medic Alert Chapter. He was a member of the Republican Party and served as political action chairman for the state association. He was a long standing member of the Albuquerque Toastmasters Club and the Albuquerque Better Business Bureau. In 1974, he founded Conway Enterprises, a real estate development and management company. Since retiring from State Farm in 1984, he served as the Public Member of the New Mexico Board of Optometry and on the Governor's Distinguished Service Public Service Awards Committee. He was a founder and president of the NM Roadrunner Chapter of the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni. He was a life member of the BPOE, The Knights of Columbus and The Knights of St. Gregory. In August, 1992, he married Nelle McElravy, of Cherry Hills, Colorado. Bob loved New Mexico from the day he set foot on its soil. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and all who knew him. Cook -- Beryl Cook, 92, born on June 9, 1906, passed away on Friday, May 28, 1999 in Albuquerque, NM. Beryl is survived by two sons, Lee and wife, Dee; two stepchildren, Greg and Doug of Sioux Falls, SD, David and wife, Maureen; three grandchildren, Mike and wife, Julie, Steven, Theresa Chamas and husband, Gus; five great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ian, Dylan Cook, Christine and Kyle Chamas all of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Beryl was preceded in death by her first husband, Ivan in 1961. She married Arthur Wilkins in 1988, he also preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by two stepchildren from that marriage, Lee Reider of Long Beach, CA and Artie Wilkins of Las Vegas, NV. Beryl was fondly known by her many friends in Albuquerque as"Granny Goose". She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A Memorial service will be Thursday, June 3, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Church, 6901 San Antonio NE with Pastor Edwin Shepperson officiating. The family will have a second Memorial service, at a later date, in Wallingford, Iowa.

Garcia -- Luis Garcia, 16, a lifelong resident of Tijeras died Sunday, May 30, 1999. He is survived by his parents, Rey and Viola Garcia; brother, Rey Garcia, Jr.; sister, Karen Garcia; niece, Marissa Garcia; grandparents, Bella Garcia and Pablo and Irene Garcia, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Luis was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ermenio Garcia. He was very active at Manzano High School and a member of the Manzano Soccer Team and the Zia Sting Soccer Team. Hall -- Laurel Hope Hall, 88, born on a homestead near Torreon in the Manzano Mtns, NM, on May 10, 1911, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 1999, Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert J. Hall. She is survived by her daughter, Genevieve Fisher and husband, Bill; her son, James D. Hall and wife, Dorothy; her sister, Edna Jane Grimm; granddaughters, Genia L. Muniz, Deborah L. Hall, Rebecca Sue Hall, Wendy Anne Fickers and husband, David, all of Albuquerque, and Julia Jane Harmon and husband, Jon of Manhattan Beach, CA, Kathryn Bisson and husband, Jim of Littleton, CO; grandsons, Glenn B. Smith and wife, Lorraine of Bernalillo, NM and Dirk N. Smith of Manchester, CT; and 15 great-grandchildren. She spent part of her young life on Los Ranchos de Los Goldrinas, at the ELKS Lodge in the Pecos, in Santa Fe and attended Albuquerque High School and the Western School for Private Secretaries. She loved fishing, baking, dancing, sewing, hat-making, gardening, the Lord and her family. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and was a Deacon at the Northminster Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque. She was currently a member of Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. She and Robert enjoyed living in the Jemez Mountains for 25 years after he retired from the Albuquerque National Bank. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her loving ways and as the best pie maker in the West! A memorial service will be held at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church (1801 Montano Rd. Huff -- Janice Marine Huff, 48, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 20 years, passed away on Monday, May 31, 1999. Janice was born January 14, 1951 the daughter of James and Shirley Bassett in Boise, Idaho. Janice is survived by three children, Dawn Ben Ezra of Albuquerque, Jennette Huff and Jason Sanchotana of Boise, ID; seven brothers and sisters, Donna, Jimmy, Lavonne, June, Stan, David and Leah, and three grandchildren. Hunt -- Matthew Scott Nelson Hunt, age 17, born June 12, 1981 in Albuquerque, died tragically on Saturday, May 29, 1999. He attended John Baker Elementary School, Hoover and Emanuel Lutheran Middle Schools and Eldorado High School, graduating on May 20, 1999. Matthew was going to be a freshman at the University of New Mexico in the fall. He had been active in AYSO and Duke City Soccer, Roadrunner Little League USTA Junior Tennis and Eldorado Varsity Tennis. Since a serious injury in January 1999, Matthew had taken up wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis. Matthew loved life, his family and friends. He was laid-back, outgoing, always happy and had an unbelievable fighting spirit which manifested itself over the first half of this year, when he endured numerous operations and constant pain, yet still smiled and talked of helping other paraplegics in the future."MATT MATT," as he was affectionately known, will always be in the thoughts, prayers and memories of his parents, Mary and Ken Hunt; sisters, Heather and Julie; grandparents, Al and Jeanne Hunt; several dozen uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews; and countless friends and acquaintances whose lives he has touched. He attended North Texas State on a full music scholarship and continued to entertain others with his love of music. Luna -- Antonio Luna, 84, passed away Saturday, May 29, 1999 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born October 18, 1914 to Luciano and Margarita Sanchez Luna in Polvadera, NM. A devoted educator, Mr. Luna retired in 1975 after 35 years as a teacher and principal in the Socorro Consolidated School System. He also served as a volunteer and on the boards of many local organizations. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Emilia Chavez Luna of their home in Polvadera; son, Ernesto Luna and wife, Mary of Albuquerque; daughter, Patricia Luna of Albuquerque; sisters, Viola Luna of El Paso, TX, Ernestine Henderson of San Diego, CA, and Terry Robinson of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Catherine Luna and numerous nieces and nephews and many special friends. Rogers -- John C. Rogers, 83, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 29 years, passed away on Friday, May 28, 1999. John was born December 2, 1915 the son of George and Lennea Wennertrom Rogers in Brooklyn, New York. He worked for Trans World Airlines for 34 and a half years before retiring. John served in the US Army during WW II, was a member of the American Legion, the Rio Rancho Kiwanis Club and the All Saints Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Gerda of Rio Rancho; son, George Rogers of Albuquerque; one sister, Elsie Schulz of Lantana, FL; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Roybal -- Manuel Eloy Roybal, a Tome resident since 1975, died quietly at home on May 30, 1999. Manuel was born in Pecos, NM on December 6, 1936. He served twenty-years in the United States Air Force and retired to farm in the Tome area. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eloisa Leal Roybal and Manuel Roybal. Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Virginia of 20 years and his daughter, Eve Anne. He is also survived by his children of a previous marriage, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren. Saiz -- Eloisa Saiz, 73, beloved and devoted mother and grandmother passed away Sunday, May 30, 1999 in the arms of her loving Family, following a valiant battle with cancer. Sanchez -- Mario S. Sanchez, 48, formerly of Tome and now residing in Antonito, CO, passed away on May 28, 1999. Mario was a practicing Christian who loved the Lord. He touched the lives of all who knew him. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Mario served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was also very instrumental in the development of several major land developments in New Mexico and South Colorado. Mario was preceded in death by his father, Gilberto in 1993. Van Patten -- Van Rick H. Van Patten, 42, a resident of Rio Rancho for 18 years, formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed away after a long illness on Monday, May 24, 1999. Rick had worked for the NAPA company for ten years before his passing. He was preceded in death by his dear father, Jack F. Van Patten. Rick is survived by his beloved life partner, Cheryl Nichols, he was the beloved son of Lonny (Bob) Klapperick of Rio Rancho, dear little brother of Jack (Linda) Van Patten of Milwaukee, WI, and Lauren Van Patten of Rio Rancho. Loving nephew of Phyllis Nehls of Theinsville, WI; special uncle of Kristen Van Patten of Milwaukee, WI, and Melinda Hudder of Windsor, CO; and two great-nieces and many other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service for Rick will be held on Saturday, June 5, 1999 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with The Rev. Eric Ziecker officiating. Wells -- Glen D. Wells, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, died Monday in a local hospital. He is preceded in death by his wife, Frances, November 13, 1982. Mr. Wells is survived by his sons, Gary Wells, Leslie Wells and wife, Vangie; three granddaughters, Katie Cereese and Shawntel Wells; sister, Glenna Faye of Little Rock, AR; nieces, Lydia and Joann of Rome, Italy. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association of New Mexico, 216 Truman NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Zwilling -- Daniel Zwilling passed away from this life May 28, 1999, surrounded by his loved ones at home. He was born April 30, 1921 to Virginia and Daniel Zwilling in Geneva, Illinois. He attended Marion Military Institute in Alabama, following graduation, he received two Congressional Appointments. He also became a Naval Air Observer to the US Naval Academy, a submarine Scholar, then served five war patrols on the USS Guardfish. After World War II he was assigned to the USS Marlin for one year. Following his service with the USS Marlin he was then assigned to the USS Atule which made dives under the North Polar Ice Cap. After submarine duty came Navy Flight Training as a Navy Aviator and Tours in the Panama Canal Zone, he served in Norfolk, VA, US Naval Station Kwajalein, Marshall Island and then a final tour in Aviation stationed in Alameda California. Following retirement from military service, Daniel attained two Master's degrees at UNM and taught nine years for APS. Daniel also enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling, and his activities with the Elks, American Legion Post 99, Delta Sigma Pi, KAFB Officers Club and was a dedicated member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral. He cherished his affiliation with The Brothers of St. Andrews. Daniel loved to dance and that's where he met his wife of nearly eight years, Nancy Zwilling. Daniel was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Segal. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Zwilling, his sister, Virginia Lee and husband, John Johnson of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, Dr. William Zwilling and his wife, Dede of Barrington, Illinois. Daniel is also survived by three sons, Daniel R. Zwilling and wife, Roz of Cairo, Nebraska, David F. Zwilling and his wife, LuAnn of Albuquerque, and Mark C. Zwilling of Dallas, Texas. Daniel is also survived by the following family members, David and Jo Artreasian, Deb Woodard, Olga and Jim Russel, Lori Russel; and seven grandkids, Nicole, Carleigh, Gina, Joel, Evan, Jackie and Jeanette. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 2, at 4:00 p.m. at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral on Silver/4th Street with Canon McDougal officiating, with Chaplain"Sandra" of Vista Care Hospice and the Submarine Veterans of New Mexico. The family would like to express their appreciation to Kathy and Wayne from the Vista Care Hospice Unit. Their kindness and loving care brought great strength and peace to the family. We believe Daniel is now at peace, in the hands of the Lord, and that he will live on in the memories of those who knew and loved him.
