Obituary for Sanchez

Mario S. Sanchez, 48, formerly of Tome and now residing in Antonito, CO, passed away on May 28, 1999. Mario was a practicing Christian who loved the Lord. He touched the lives of all who knew him. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Mario served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was also very instrumental in the development of several major land developments in New Mexico and South Colorado. Mario was preceded in death by his father, Gilberto in 1993. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Eva; his four children, Zephorah-13, Ivana-11, Aaron-8, and Colorado"C.J."-6; his mother, Cipriana of Adelino, NM; his brothers and sisters, Lorenzo and his wife, Jeannie; Tomas, Charlie and his wife, Theresa; James and his wife, Joani; Martha, David, Raymond, Alice, Frances, Allen, and Karen June and her husband, Richard Huntley. Mario is also survived by his many loving Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews; Mario is also survived by his mother-in-law, Esther Hazlett and her children, Peggy and her husband, Bob Jordan, Carol and her husband, Leslie Rhodes, Steve and his wife, Ricki Whitley, Emma and her husband, Kevin Bodley, Ernie and his wife, Darlene Hazlett, Suzie and her husband, Richard Labbe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome. Memorial Services will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Conejos Canyon Community Chapel on Horca, CO.
