EASTWOOD -- Joseph Eastwood, 86, of Sandia Park, NM, went home to be with our Lord on September 29, 2007. Joseph was born on February 15, 1921, in Lowell, MA, to Frank and Elizabeth Hannah Eastwood. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace Loveland Eastwood; three children, Joanne Willett and husband, Frank, of Morris, OK, Matthew Eastwood and wife, Ramona, of Albuquerque, NM, and Nancy Eastwood of Walla Walla, WA; 11 grandchildren, Lisa, Frank Jr., Emile Jr., Mark, Jennifer, Joseph, Sarah, Christopher, Raina, Daniel, and Lincoln; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Moore of Hiddenite, NC; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and loving friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Elizabeth; one daughter, Susan Elizabeth Eastwood; one son, Frank Andrew Eastwood; and his twin brother, Frank Eastwood Jr. Joe was a kind, loving, compassionate man, who was always willing to help where he saw a need- he never met a stranger. Most knew him by his collection of hat pins and his carved pipe and beard. Joseph served for the United States Army/Air Force, in WWII, from January 1942- January 1946, stationed in Burma, India. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 5:00-9:00 p.m., at Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, with a Graveside Service at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at Joshua's Vineyard, at the corner of Zuni Ave and Dallas, in Albuquerque, NM, on Sunday, October 7, 2007. Pallbearers will include Matthew Eastwood, Francesco Garcia, Joseph Garding, Daniel Eastwood, Lincoln Eastwood, and Teirnan Garding; Honorary Pallbearers are King Nelson and Mark Chavez. KELLEMS -- Nelson Ray Kellems, 94, former Albuquerque resident, died Saturday, August 25, 2007. Mr. Kellems had lived in Albuquerque from 1940 until his move to Texas in September of 2006. He is survived by his sister, Elaine White of Kansas; nieces, Susan Demarest and her husband, Richard of Colorado, Ann Young of North Carolina, Debbie Moore and her husband, Mike of Texas, Vicki Miller and her husband, Jerry of Florida; sister-in-law, Bonnie Artz of Texas. Mr. Kellems was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, a Mason, a Shriner, and a WWII veteran. After retirement, he enjoyed growing roses, playing golf, fly fishing and making jewelry. Services will be held Thursday, September 6, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. BACA -- Raymond W. Baca was born June 30, 1926 in Colmor, NM and passed on August 26, 2007. Raymond was a 22 year Navy Veteran and served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. After retirement from the Navy, he worked with Kemper Insurance Co. where he later retired as West Coast Nuclear Inspector Specialist. In 1990 he moved to Albuquerque and spent summers in Camp Nelson, CA. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Gene and wife, Randa Baca, and Douglas Gonzales; daughter, Donna Jones of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Michael and Rick Patterson, Karen Walker, Patricia and Kasey Baca; sister, Maria Gonzales and brother-in-law, Jose; and many beloved nephews and nieces as well as family from New Mexico, California, and Colorado. Memorial Services will begin with viewing at French Mortuary Westside Chapel on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. A Mass will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Friday, August 31, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be John and Chuck Cala, Mark Gonzales, Randy Warrick, Silas Pacheco, and Shawn Warrick. NELSON -- Virginia (Yager) Nelson, (93), a resident of Albuquerque NM for the past 10 years, passed away Monday, July 30, 2007. Her husband, Duane, preceded her in death by 20 years. She is survived by her son, Dr. Burke Nelson and wife, Ivonne, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Mark, Jill, Burke Jr. and Megan; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Christopher, James, Veronica, and Donovan. Born in Hastings, NE in 1914, she and her husband traveled extensively through his assignments with the U.S. Agriculture Department and the Agency for International Development. She most recently resided at Valle Norte Caring Center in Albuquerque. She will be buried at the family plot in Juniata, NE. A memorial service will be held, Friday, August 10, 2007, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. HOLSTE -- Esther Lucille Nelson Holste, 97, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2 at her home in Rio Rancho. Esther was born Dec. 7, 1909, in Portal, N.D., and moved with her family to Minneapolis at age 10. She graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1934. Esther was a school librarian for 30 years. She retired in 1975 and began her second career as a volunteer with the Rio Rancho Public Library, work she enjoyed into her 90s. She is survived by sons, Loren, David and Peter (Glenda); sister, Sadie Kreilkamp; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and 24 nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Merrill. Friends may call at Esther's home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 7. Memorials to the Rio Rancho Public Library
