GARCIA -- Joe Clark Garcia, 43, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on March 11, 2004. His parents Elfigo and Alice Garcia preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, April Torrez; and special brothers and sisters who were very close to his heart, Maria Garcia, Roger Garcia, Antonio Chavez and fiancee, Phyllis Silva, Barbara Garcia, Annette and Martin Duran; and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and Catherine Sanchez, a very special lady, who Joe considered a second mother. Also Elfigo and Margaret Garcia, Robert and Lorraine Chavez, Elena and Trancito Rael, Margaret Gallegos and Randy Garcia. Pallbearers are Roger Garcia, Antonio Chavez, Michael Avila, Anthony Sanchez, Evertt Gomez and Randy Garcia Jr. Joe was loved by many friends and family his passing has left a hole in our hearts. He will never be forgotten. Rosary services to be held on Thursday, March 18, 2004, 7:00 p.m. at Riverside Mortuary 225 San Mateo, Mass to be held on Friday, March 19, 2004, 9:00 a.m. at San Jose Parish 2401 Broadway SE. ORTEGA -- Ernest Ortega, 49, a resident of Anaheim, Ca. and formerly of Albuquerque passed away on March 11, 2004. Mr. Ortega is the beloved husband of 31 years to Jo Anne Ortega. Mr. Ortega is also survived by one son, Christopher E. Ortega; one daughter, Tiffany N. Ortega; his father, Benjamin Ortega; brothers and sisters, Benny Ortega and wife, Lila, Fermin Ortega and wife, Jennie, Maryann Chavez and husband, Paul, Benina Rochester and husband, Dee, Bernadette Kluding and husband, Mike, Martin Ortega, Irene Zamora, Alex Ortega and wife, Lorraine; in laws, Faye, Karen, Fred, Alan Gabaldon and wife, Linda and sons; his Godfather, Jim Abeyta; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Ortega was a member of the Catholic Church. ROBINSON -- Elijia Robinson, born October 19, 1954 passed away unexpectedly in the loving arms of her family and friends on Monday, March 15, 2004. Elijia was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Dulcinea Chavez; her mother-in-law, Doris Robinson and her brother-in-law Ray Gomez. Elijia is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Elgin (Robbie) Robinson; her daughter, Vanessa Robinson whom she loved and adored; her father-in-law, Elgin Robinson, and her special Goddaughter Cassandra (Mannie) Salazar who owned a special piece of her heart. Elijia is also survived by her siblings, Rosie (Lea) Gomez, Alejandro (Bebe) Chavez and wife Monica, Johnny Chavez and wife Tam, Martha Salazar and husband Fred, Eric Chavez and wife Angelica, Jackie Chavez and husband Dennis, Alejandro (Critter) Chavez and her sister-in-law, Georgia Gallegos. Also surviving are several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mrs. Elijia Robinson had a dream. Her self-less, tireless dream included over 855 other people. Those 855 other people are 9-1-1 emergency operators, police radio dispatchers, who are the link between the citizen's of the State of New Mexico and emergency police, fire and ambulance/rescue services. Our dear Elijia wanted to see the fulfillment of a bill passing through the New Mexico State Legislature and the Senate that would grant twenty-year retirement for all law enforcement emergency operators. Elijia had been working diligently for this, making many, many trips on her own time and finances to Santa Fe, meeting with State Representatives, Legislatives and Senators concerning the fulfillment of this bill. This was her dream, which included so many others. Mrs. Robinson had been a telecommunicator since 1973, when she was hired by the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department as a radio dispatcher/9-1-1 operator. She was a dedicated employee, and her accomplishments included promotions to a certified trainer, instructor and supervisor of Communications for the Bernalillo County Communications Department. She was, most of all, a wonderful human being, who was caring, friendly, funny, sincere, and one who will be greatly missed. Visitations will be held on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Stover Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Sanchez, Tim Brown, Mike Harpster, Andy Brads, Capt. Jones, Norbert Montoya, Gary Gomez and Johnny Tapia. GRIEGO -- Paul J. Griego died Sunday, March 14, 2004 in Albuquerque at the age of 78. Mr. Griego is preceded in death by his wife, Frances P. Griego in 1994; mother, Patricia Estrada; brothers, Gregorio Griego and Valentin Griego; sisters, Juanita Griego and Connie Chavez; his special aunt, Aurelia Serna; and his special uncle, Hilario Sandoval. He is survived by his son, Joseph Griego; daughters, Lena Hoefler and husband, Martin, and Helen Martinez and husband, Raymond; grandchildren, Christina, Amanda, Matthew, Joanna, Dianna, Christopher, Nicholas and Joshua; sister, Bernardita Sanchez and husband, Moises; brother, Refugio Griego; sister-in-law, Carolina Griego; aunt, Ramoncita Bernal; and special brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Oralia Gutierrez. A Rosary for Mr. Griego will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at the Church of the Ascension where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Cemetery in Chilili, NM. LEYBA -- Jimmy S. Leyba, in Loving Memory, passed away March 14, 2004. She survived by her five children, Betty, Theresa, Linda, Christina, and Michael. Four sisters and three brothers, Albert, Robert, Martin, Mary, Dora, Virginia, & Gloria. She also has twelve grandchildren.
