SANCHEZ -- Agnes Sanchez, a resident of Albuquerque since 1938, died Sunday, January 8, 2006. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Mike Sanchez of Albuquerque; children, Sam Sanchez and wife, Bernice, Gilbert Sanchez, Joe B. Sanchez and wife, Angela, all of Albuquerque, and JoAnn Baca and husband, Robert of Lawton, OK; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Candy Moreno, Erma Padilla, Grace Montoya, and Susie Montoya; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard T. Sanchez. Mrs. Sanchez was a longtime member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, 9:00 a.m., at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW. STRANDBERG -- Gilbert R. Strandberg, 71, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on January 3, 2006. He was born in Chicago, IL, and as a young man was a star football player who loved football, wrestling, and family. Mr. Strandberg was a professional plasterer and auto mechanic. He is survived by his daughter, Susan J. Weeks; sons, J. Steven Strandberg and Scott K. Strandberg; grandchildren, Joseph J. Strandberg, Ryan M. Strandberg, Steven J. Strandberg, Adam Weeks and his wife, April, Charity Alcouffe and husband, Matt, and Ysaac, Abram, Diego, and Saim Diaz-Strandberg. A Viewing will take place on Thursday January 12, 2006 from noon until 4:00 p.m. at Riverside Chapel. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2006 also at Riverside Chapel with Rev. Linda Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.. AGUIRRE -- Bill E. Aguirre, SMSgt (USAF Ret.), died Monday, January 2, 2006. He served his country with honor, in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years, having received the Air Force Meritorious Service, Joint Service and Air Force Commendation Medals; he retired from Civil Service after 15 years. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful servant of God. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Yolanda; two daughters, Yvonne Alvarez and Yvette Aguirre; two grandsons, Dominique Perez and his wife, Tiffanie, and Gabriel Alvarez; great-granddaughter, Trinity Perez; brothers and sisters, Hank, Lola, Gloria and Gilbert, Jr. A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, January 8, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary Westside Chapel, with interment Monday, January 9, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. MURILLO -- George U. Murillo, 78, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 30 years, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2006. George was born August 26, 1927 the son of Martin and Anita Ugalde Murillo in Brown City, MI. He had been a contractor and musician. George was an accomplished pianist, and musician. He performed with Los Gatos, Dukes of Albuquerque, and The Press. He was also a member of the Music Union. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. George was preceded in death by his wife, Cora in 2001. He is survived by his children, George Murillo, Jr., Susan Apodaca, Gloria Rico, Celia Vallejos, Margaret Chavez, Richard Murillo, Dolores Heck, Patrick Murillo, Sr., Loretta Tobin, Julie Kahsin, Gilbert Murillo, Michael Olguin, Edith F. Shaw, Robert Olguin, Larry Olguin, and James Brook; 44 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the Service at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2006 in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Rev. PADILLA -- Gilbert "Gibo" Padilla, 58, a life long resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away, with his family by his side, on December 31, 2005. He was the youngest child born to Tomacita (Chavez) and Nep Sr. Padilla. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Ida, and his three daughters, the eldest, Ila (33) and her husband, Jason Reed, Yolanda (30) and her husband, Michael Moyer, and the baby, Veronica (25). He was a proud grandfather of Alexander Gilbert Reed and Demi John Reed. He is also survived by his siblings, Clara and husband, Herman Duran, Leo and wife, Annie Padilla, Louie and wife, Lupe Padilla; and Dora and husband, Rudy Candelaria. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Isaac, Silvia, Nep Jr., Isabel, Agnes and the Twins. Gibo graduated from the University of New Mexico in 1978 with a B.A. in Business Administration, with a concentration in Accounting/Computer Science. At the time of death, he was the Bursar at the Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute (TVI). A Rosary will be recited on Friday, January 6, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady Guadalupe, with burial immediately following at the Los Padillas Cemetery.
