FLORES -- Mr. Richard Flores, 75, a resident of Albuquerque passed away at home in the loving arms of his family on August 20, 2004. Mr. Flores is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Madge F. Flores; four children, Irene Valdez and husband, Robert, Donna Gunderson and husband, Glen, Felipe Flores, and Oscar Flores and wife, Christine; eleven grandchildren, Sharon, Sheila, Rick, Adrian, Erika, Pablo, Dominic, Merlinda, Matthew, Gabriel and DeeAnna; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Flores was preceded in death by his son, Paul Flores. Mr. Flores was a member of the Catholic Church, and a Veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was the past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and an Usher at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A visitation for Mr. Flores will be on Tuesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5411 Fortuna NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Legion of Mary. Final visitation will be Wednesday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Gene Gries. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Valdez, Glen Gunderson, Rick Ortega, Adrian Ortega, Dominic Flores, and Matthew Flores. LOPEZ -- Gloria Mascarenas Lopez, 74, went home to be with the Lord on August 10, 2004. She was born on November 1, 1929 in Telluride, CO. She is preceded in death by Joe Mascarenas and her son, Michael Robert Mascarenas. Gloria is survived by her husband, Lorenzo Lopez; her son, Joe Mascarenas Jr. and wife, Veronica; daughters, Mary Lou Peralta and husband, Thomas, Mary Ann Mascarenas and Cathy Pohl and husband, Michael; brothers, Joe Rivera and Pete Lovato and wife, Leonora; sisters, Mela Valdez and Vangie Turrietta; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by Freddie and Lawrence Lopez. Gloria is also survived by her step-children, Bruce and Mary Ann Nieto, Leroy and Patty Lucero, John and Betty Lopez, Rudy and Dorothy Lopez, Gavino and Peggy Lopez, Billy and Cathy Lopez, Lorraine Flores and Eddie "Tacho" Lopez; 27 step-grandchildren and 29 step-great-grandchildren. Gloria will be deeply missed by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning, August 13, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. BACA -- Mia Faith Saenz Baca, 4 days old, a resident of Albuquerque passed away and is now one of God's little angels in heaven. Mia is the beloved daughter to Eddie E. Baca and Leticia T. Saenz. She is also survived by one sister, Aaliyah Isabel Alycia Rael Baca; grandparents, Steve Saenz Sr. and wife, Elsie, Mary Ann Baca and fiance, Clifford Figler and Harold Baca; great- grandparents, Arturo and Petrita Gutierrez, Dulcinea and Fernando Baca; great-great grandmother, Rita Tenorio; one aunt, Veronica Saenz; one uncle, Stephen Saenz Jr. and many other relatives and friends. MARTINEZ -- Casimira Martinez, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004. CORDOVA -- Maria Veneranda Cordova, age 89, passed away May 16, 2004 at the Laurel Meadows Nursing Home in Belen. Maria was born February 25, 1915 in Puerto De Luna, NM to the home of Marcelino and Doloritas Padilla Ocana. She was reared and attended schools in Puerto De Luna. Maria married Agapito Cordova on June 2, 1931 in Puerto De Luna. She and her husband made their home in Puerto De Luna where they farmed and ranched for many years. Maria was a member of Nuestra Senoria de Refugio Church in Puerto De Luna and St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa and the Sacred Heart Sodality. Maria loved to play bingo, scrabble and loved to go dancing with her husband Agapito. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Agapito, her son, Phil Cordova, her brothers and sisters, Charles Gerhardt, Jessie Gerhardt, Ben Gerhardt, Frank Ocana, Francisquita Luna, Isabel Abeyta and Juan Ocana. Survivors include her children, Orlando Cordova and wife, Louise of Phoeniz, AZ, Alfredo Cordova of Santa Rosa, Zulema Flores and husband, Santiago of Phoenix, AZ, Robert Cordova and wife, Mary of Santa Rosa and Lucille Zamora and husband, Rudy of Belen; her sister, Teofila Lopez of Puerto de Luna. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchldren and four great-great- grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be recited on Tuesday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa with Deacon Rudy Zamora leading the prayers. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. from Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto de Luna. Burial will follow in the family plot at Nuestra Senoria de Refugio Cemetery in Puerto de Luna. LOPEZ -- Mrs. Cora M. Lopez, 81, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on May 5, 2004. Cora was born in Trinidad Colorado to Enrique and Trinidad Maes on August 23, 1922. Mrs. Lopez is survived by her loving children, Marie Gabaldon and husband, Dick, Rosalie Walters and husband, Bill and Henry Lopez. Mrs. Lopez is also survived by her grandchildren, Brenda Graham and husband, Maurice, Pablo Gabaldon and wife, WIndi, Patrick Gabaldon and wife, Amorette, Clorinda Sada, Sheldon Walters, Aaron Walters and Debbie Herrera; her great grandchildren, Sarah Graham, Kyle Walters, Samuel Graham and Zoe Gabaldon; her special companion, Catalino Madril; several nieces, nephews and friends. CASTILLO -- Rafael (Ralph) Manuel Wilfred C. Castillo, 67, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2004. He was born on December 6, 1936 in Belen, New Mexico. Mr. Castillo was involved in many church activities. He also was a custom home builder, a life long farmer and was creative and inventive. Mr. Castillo had a insightful humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio and Flora Castillo and a foster child, Anna Marie. He is survived by his wife Prescilla Castillo; children, Flora Jane Armijo and husband Alfredo, Ralph Castillo and wife Cindy, Anthony Castillo, Jeffrey Castillo and Martina Padilla and husband Eugenio Sr.; grandchildren, Teresa Armijo, Cristina Armijo, Donald Castillo, Eugenio Padilla Jr. and Samantha Padilla; many nieces, nephews, and foster children; brothers and sisters, Elias Castillo, Mel Castillo, Joe Castillo, Robert Castillo, Ben Castillo, Patrick Castillo, Viola Castillo, Viviana Kent, Mary Ellen Castillo and Angela Vigil. GONZALES -- Helen Gonzales went home to be with Lord at the age of 78 on Tuesday, March 2, 2004. A beloved wife and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister died at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was kind and generous to all that met her. We cherished her and were privileged to have cared for her during her illness. Helen was born in Archuleta, NM on December 23, 1925, to Toribio and Cresencia Archuleta. She was one of fourteen children. On a snowy day in December of 1944, she married Frank Gonzales Jr. They were married for fifty-eight beloved years. The most important things in Helen's life were her family and her religion. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, and enjoyed serving her church as a mayordomo and was active in the CCD program for many years. She also enjoyed playing cards, getting her family together, and watching her children and grandchildren in sports. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her daughter Mary, her parents, and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by eight children, Crusita Padilla and husband Manuel, Ray Gonzales and wife Becky, Rita Gonzales, Elaine Ramirez and husband Manuel, Charles Gonzales and wife Debbie, Donna Gonzales, Gary Gonzales and wife Sandy, Cindy Gonzales and Tony Dibble; and fifteen grandchildren, Richard Padilla and wife Agnes, Lorraine Robertson and husband John, Therese Padilla, Tami Howes and husband David, Daniel Gonzales and wife Leah, JoAnna Gonzales, Manuel Ramirez, Jr., Robert Ramirez and wife Lisa, Angela Ramirez, Dominic Gonzales, Benjamin Gonzales, Sarah Gonzales, Nicholas and his mother Sabina Basham, KC Flores and Jessica Jaramillo, and Kyle Dibble; eight great-grandchildren, James Flores, Isaac Ramirez, Lourdes Padilla, Danilo Padilla, Hailey Howes, Joshua Howes, Alicia Ortega and Caitlin Robertson; two brothers, Max Archuleta and wife Susie, and Gene Archuleta and wife Abenilde; one sister, Lydia Valdez and one brother-in-law and friend Gilbert Vallejos, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. She will be dearly missed by all of us. May she rest in peace. FRANCO -- Vivian C. Franco, passed away quietly, February 13, 2004. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria J. Cooper, Gabriela R. Candelaria and Jo Lay all of Albuquerque; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; several great-grandchildren; brother, Ray Carriaga; and sister, Vita C. Flores. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Gonzales. Mrs. Franco was a cosmetologist and owned her own business for many years. Graveside services have taken place with Rev. GUTIERREZ -- Matthew Dylan Gutierrez, age 11, a resident of Los Lunas, New Mexico joined our Lord and Savior after a tragic accident. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas and the Potters House in Albuquerque. Matthew was a sixth grade student at Raymond Gabaldon Intermediate School in Los Lunas. Matthew was the Sgt. of Arms of the Sons of the American League Squadron #72 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was such an outgoing young man that everyone was drawn to him. He always touched the hearts of anyone that knew him. He loved music and he was well known for his Beat Boxing. He was always singing and his family would turn down the TV just to hear him sing. He never held a grudge and his smile and his laugh were so contagious. He will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rosemary Bertha Griego and Jose Benny Gutierrez; great-great maternal grandmother, Antonia Garcia; one uncle, Ronald Ray Gutierrez; and his aunt, Cynthia Gutierrez. Matthew is survived by his parents, his mother, Bridget Archuleta and her fiance, Juan C. Hinojos; and his father, Joe R. Gutierrez and his wife, Laura of Albuquerque; his five siblings, Joshua Lee, Adam Jude, Hope Natalia, Kayla Rae, Elizabeth Grace, and Joseph Gabriel; his maternal grandparents, Nanda and Dean Harmon of Albuquerque, NM and Mel and Yolanda Archuleta of Veguita, NM; maternal great-grandparents, Juanita and Manuel Ortiz, of Albuquerque, Rita Hinson of Los Lunas; maternal great-great grandfather, J.A. Garcia of Albuquerque; his uncle, Santino Archuleta of Veguita; six aunts, Mellecia Archuleta of Los Lunas, Deana and her husband, Carlos Guerrero of Abilene, Texas, Carol and her husband, George Tapia, Mary Ann Gutierrez, Gloria Lovato and Anthony Lovato, Lisa and her husband, Kerry Murphy; he also is survived by many loving great and great-great uncles, aunts, cousins, and many friends.
