TORR -- Carol Ann Hudspeth Torr passed away June 13, 2004. Carol was born February 18, 1943 in Albuquerque where she attended local school and the University of New Mexico. She lived in Corrales 24 years, and most recently, in Rio Rancho. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Hugh Stout, Oklahoma City; her mother, Marjorie Hudspeth, Placitas; her uncle, Arthur Kimmell and wife Betty; cousins: Lorraine Kimmell; Paulette Moore, Chandra and Brandon; Cherie and husband Steve Gilsdorf, Jocelyn and Richelle, all of Albuquerque, and Ted Shumaker, Augusta, KS. She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Hudspeth, and brother, Jim Hudspeth. Carol was a homemaker and devoted mother to Jennifer, and also found time to serve her community. Today there is a fine library in Corrales due to her hard work and determination. She felt the lack of a library and decided that the whole community should be involved in building one. She worked countless hours persuading other to donate time, talent, materials and money to her cause. After many ups and downs, her dream became a reality. Carol's most noteworthy characteristic was her ability to see into the hearts and souls of the many people who sought her friendship, advice and counsel. Besides having a wonderful sense of humor, she also had a deep compassion for those in need, those with physical and mental limitations, and for homeless and abused animals. She was selfless, in that she sacrificed her own needs for the needs of others. Despite the steady decline of her health, she was always optimistic and not given to self-pity. A service attended by her family and close friends was held at Sunset Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Clyde Stanfield officiating. Entombment took place at Sunset Mausoleum. For those who wish to do so, memorials in her name may be made to a favorite charity. French Mortuary 9300 Golf Course Rd. NW (505) 897-0300
