CHAVEZ, EQUILDA L. age 72, a resident of Rio Rancho, NM and a lifelong member of Los Padillas, passed away, Saturday, February 28, 2015. Mrs. Chavez is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Fred; children, Joseph M. Chavez and wife, Geri, Fred Anthony, Rebecca C. Ortega, and Elizabeth L. Chavez; sister, Demecia Sanchez and husband, Leo; grandchildren, Richard Chavez, Jaclynn Chavez, Anastacia Madrid, Andre Madrid, Channing Chavez, David Chavez, Christopher Chavez, Riley Chavez, Tamara Madrid, Julia Chavez, Levi Chavez, Olivia Chavez, Estevan Madrid, Paloma Ortega, Carmen Ortega, Avelino Chavez, and Monica Chavez; great-grandson, Anykin Madrid; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church, past member of the Legion of Mary, countless hours as a volunteer at the Dominican Retreat House, and a lifelong member of the Miraculous Medal Association. NAJAR, SOFIA Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 2, 2015. She was a devout Catholic, God before everything else, she lived for her family, and was ready with loving arms for all that came by. She will be greatly missed. Sofia was preceded in death by her husband Ernest A. Najar and sons Ernest A. Najar Jr. and Gary W. Najar. She is survived her daughter Gloria Gallegos and husband Sal, son Gilbert Najar and wife Rosemary, daughter Dorella, daughter Naomi Olguin and husband David, son Robert Najar, and Marie Short Najar; grandchildren Joseph Chavez and wife Terrie, Darlene and Thom Maestas, Diane and Mark Eifert, Daniel Gallegos, Orlando Najar, Angela Najar, Erica Olguin and Philip Walck, Jared Barnhouse and wife Jenni, Natalie Najar, Beatrice Najar and Mark, Michael Najar, and Juliana Najar; great grandchildren Monique Chavez, Robert Chavez, Elliott Tachia, Santiago Archuleta, Mateo Gallegos, Annabelle Najar and Mark Jr.; great grandchildren Tristan and Domonic; and sister-in-law Margie Lopez. BINGAMAN, ARTHUR LEE Age 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to eternal life, Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Services will be held in Albuquerque at the Riverside Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Lee was in the Navy from 1959 to 1962 on the USS Lake Champlain. On May 5, 1961, the USS Lake Champlain picked up astronaut Alan Shepard, the second person and the first American to travel into space. Lee was a meat market manager for Furr's Supermarket until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Maria Bingaman; son, Earl Ingersoll; daughters, Patty Ingersoll Desing and Terri Bingaman; grandchildren, David Ferrell, Taylor Desing, Berto Chavez, Connor Desing, and Megan Desing; brother, Gary Bingaman and wife, Hollie Bingaman; and sister, Winnie Keiser. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur I. Bingaman, mother, Catherine Bingaman, and brother, Bruce Bingaman. Lee is most remembered as a caring, loving man with a very witty personality. His favorite activities were riding horses, riding motorcycles, boating, camping and traveling with family. His sense of humor will be missed by all. LUCERO, JOSE ALBINO passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born on December 16, 1933 in Guadalupita, NM to Abelino and Carlota (Archuleta) Lucero and was raised in Las Vegas. Jose attended school in Las Vegas, NM and graduated from Taos High School in 1952 where his joy was being on the 1st string basketball and football teams. He was in the U.S. Army where he honorably served his country in a tour of duty in the 82nd Airborne Division in Fort Bragg, NC as a Radio Operator. Jose traveled throughout the entire United States, driving with Bekins and Allied moving firms. He retired from Consolidated Freight as a Teamster, and settled in the South Valley. Jose was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church. He married Mary Frances Sandoval, they had four children, Al Lucero Jr., Michael Re', Antoinette Chavez, and Teresa Re'. Jose was preceded in death by wife Mary Frances; parents, Abelino and Carlota Lucero; brothers, Albert Lucero and Abelino (Abie) Lucero Jr.; sisters, Sophie Kemm, Mary Garcia, Simonita Cassidy and Ester Pray. He is survived by his children; Al, Michael, Antoinette, and Teresa; grandchildren, Rene' Chavez Miera, Michelle Chavez Mitchell, Gabrielo Re', and Nicole Re'; two great grandchildren, Jonathan Beverly and Grace Miera; siblings, Carlos Lucero, Robert Lucero, Fred Lucero, Georgia Dziurzynski and Lita Lovato. Jose would like to express his sincere appreciation to his granddaughter Rene' Chavez Miera, who was there to help him when he needed her the most. Services will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. A Rosary will be recited at 8:15 AM. WISNER, MARIANNE Age 89, a resident of Albuquerque, since 1951, passed away quietly on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Mrs. Wisner is survived by her daughter, Holly Chavez and husband, Jerome; and grandson, Jason Chavez. Mrs. Wisner was a lab technician for Sandia Laboratories as well as at the Lovelace Clinic. Mrs. Wisner's favorite past times included her love of horses, roller skating, and fishing. A devout Lobo basketball fan beginning in the Johnson Gym era and continued to enjoy the games at the Pit. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 in the Riverside Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Reese Watson officiating. JONES, THEODIS JR. Theodis Jones, Jr. was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to his loving parents Theodis Jones Sr. and Leanna Rhodes on October 30, 1931. He was raised in the church and accepted Christ at a young age. He graduated from Merrill High School where he was class president and a member of the National Honor Society. In 1951 after high school, Theodis joined the Air Force where he traveled to many continents serving our country and retiring in 1971 as a Tech Sergeant. During his time in the military, he met the love of his life LaEtna McNeil of Natchez, Mississippi. They were married in Boston in 1961 and shared this holy bond that lasted for 53 glorious years. During this union they were blessed with four children, Michael L., Kenneth L., Phillip C. and Sandra D. (Jones) Holguin. In 1971 he retired from the Air Force in Fayetteville, NC, during that time the family moved back to Massachusetts. Ted worked for MITRE Corp. for 20 years. During this time he was elected to Who's Who among Students in "American Jr. Colleges" in recognition of Outstanding Merit Accomplishments as a student at Newbury Jr. College in the late 70's. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Management at the University of Lowell in Lowell, MA. While living in Massachusetts, Bro. Jones was a member of St. John's Baptist Church and remained a contributing member while living in Albuquerque, NM. During his time at St. John's he was a trustee, an usher, choir member and chaired several committees. In 2005 the Jones' moved to Albuquerque, NM and joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. The first thing Bro. Jones joined was the Laymen Ministry. He then progressed on as a Trustee of the church where he soon became a part of the Finance Committee becoming the Benevolence Chair. He attended Sunday School on a regular basis and co-chaired the Pastor Search Committee. Bro. Jones also worked on the church by-laws committee and sang in the Male Chorus. Bro. Jones had a spirit that would light up a room, and whatever he did in his lifetime, he truly did it for the glory and honor of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. His Favorite song was "Precious Lord", and his favorite verse was Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."He was preceded in death by his parents Theodis Jones Sr. and Leanne Rhodes and one brother DeAutry Jones. He is survived by his loving wife LaEtna Jones, his sons, Michael L., of Lowell, MA, Kenneth L., of Hudson, NH, Phillip C., of Nashua, NH, his daughter, Sandra D. (Phillip) Holguin, of Albuquerque, NM. His grandchildren, Derek Tanner, Justin Jones, Sharee Jones, Michael Jones, II, Shauna Jones, Marina Partridge, Caitlyn Jones, Phillip Jones Jr, Jeremy Theodis Jones and Matthew Holguin. His great grandchildren, Jayonna Little, Jacoby Jones, Joshua Little, Quentin Theodis Jones and Jorel Thomas. His brothers, Daniel L., (Delia), Phillip J., (Glenda), Carlton L. (Shirley) and several nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. HAWLEY-CHAVEZ, MICHAEL COLTON April 1, 1989- February 14, 2015 Michael (Mikey) was a beloved son, grandson and wonderful friend to many, he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his mother Mary Hawley; father Mike Chavez; grandmothers: Doris Burton and Ophelia Chavez; aunts Christina, Barbara and Cindy; uncles Darin, David, Melvin, Tom, Mark; brother Matthew; and his sister Kimberly. Preceded in death by his aunt Jolene. Michael was in the Army Reserves, attended UNM and worked for Discount Tire.
