DOUGLAS -- Dorothy Douglas, 87, died Friday, April 29, 2005. Dorothy was born in Marville, KS and resided in Albuquerque for eight years. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Biegel, and her husband, David; sons, Ronald Douglass and wife, Joann, as well as Charles Douglas and wife, Carol; sister, Thelma Moore; as well as her grandchildren, Ronald Douglass Jr., Joanna Duarte, John Douglass, Ronald Douglas, Vivian Douglas, Jennifer Ranger, Christopher Biegel, David Douglas, Charles Douglas, and Peggy Douglas; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garfield; grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Douglass; and John David; sisters, Margie and Maxine; and great-grandchildren, Tabitha and Fiona. Her life was devoted to her family, her Christian Science practice, which was performed for over fifty years, and many friends from all areas of the globe. Services will be held Wednesday, 2:00, at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. RODRIGUEZ -- ALFONSO BARTHOLOME RODRIGUEZ (AL), born on August 24, 1922 and returned to the Lord on March 12, 2005, surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, sons, and grandchildren. Alfonso (Al) passed away after a six month battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents: Erineo and Ramoncita Rodriguez; brother, David; sisters: Melinda Bias, Maria (Demesia) and husband, Saturnino Hernandez, Genoveva and husband, Antoino Rodriguez. Al retired from AFL-CIO as an International Representative, where he tirelessly worked for the workers rights amongst the Carpenters, Lumber Mill, Ironworkers, Hospital and State workers across North America. During his final years he worked for the rights of Union Workers in South America and Puerto Rico. Al was loved and cherished by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife, Alice G. Rodriguez; son, Charles (Chuck) Rodriguez and wife Charlene (Char), Chuck's son, Jared and soon to be wife Roseanne Ruiz and great-granddaughter, Sierra; daughter, Mary Ellen Flores and husband Martin and grandchildren Andrea and Martin Jr.; son, Dennis Rodriguez and grandsons; Brian and Christopher; daughter, Melinda Wedemeyer and husband Robert (Bob) and granddaughters, Cassandra (Cassie) and Annalise (Lise); daughter, Annette Brumley and husband Mark and grandson, Gabriel Alfonso Rodriguez. Alfonso's brother, Higinio and wife Elisa Rodriguez; his sisters: Maida Duran and husband Feliberto and Martha Jones. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and many close friends and loved ones in Las Vegas. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nelson's Funeral Home, 801 Douglas Ave, Las Vegas, NM. Another Rosary will be recited Wednesday, March 16, 2005, 7:00 p.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 11:00 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Deborah is survived by her husband of 28 years, Lee Robert Dominguez; mother, Martha Fernow; sister, Linda Sumski and her husband, Terry; brothers, Charles, Douglas, and Thomas Fernow; in-laws, Thomas and Zelma Dominguez. Deborah served as a mother to many of the children in the neighborhood. They include Nathan and Brian Larason, Stephanie Balmer, Laurel and Jack Britt. NELSON -- Louise M. Nelson, 89, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on December 31, 2004. Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 9, 1915, Louise called New Mexico home since 1991. She was a gifted pianist, artist, and needle crafter who created beauty in any medium she chose. Her many talents live on in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Malcolm, son-in-law, Fred Malcolm and their children, Fred Jr., John, Heather, and Bernadette, and their families; son, Denis Nelson, daughter-in-law, Maureen Nelson and their children, Denis Jr., Kevin, Patricia, and Colleen, and their families; daughter, Elizabeth Frey, son-in-law, Glenn Frey and their children, Christina, Cynthia, Douglas, Cecilia, Catherine, and Carol Ann, and their families. Also, there are her grandchildren, Lee Nelson and Michele Lauret, their spouses and children living in Maryland. In all, Louise had 16 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Nelson, a retired NYC firefighter; her son, Harold Nelson Jr.; her brothers, Walter, Edward, and Quintin Nowak; and sisters, Bernadette Simmons and Catherine Jackson. Cremation has occurred and there will be a Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday, January 6, 2005 at 1:00 p.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho. On Sunday, January 9, 2005, at 3 p.m. there will be a memorial celebration for Louise at Acantilado Vista Retirement Community, 920 Riverview Dr. SE, Rio Rancho, for her friends and neighbors. Interment at St. Charles Cemetery in Lindenhurst, NY will be held in the Spring.

CRANE -- Wayne Crane, 84, a resident of Belen, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2004. He was born in Douglas, Kansas on November 6, 1920. Wayne grew up in Albuquerque and attended Albuquerque High. He served in WWII in the Air Force, stationed in England and France, from 1942 to 1945. Wayne is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Jane Crane; four daughters, Peggy Vallejos and husband, Gene, Valeria Worden, Jeanie Hart and husband, Gary and Lela Brooks; one son, John Crane and wife, Cheryl; one brother, Ben Crane and wife, Nita; along with 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Mr. Crane was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Crane; sister, Peggy Huckabay; and brother, Frank Crane. Wayne retired from the Carpenters Union #1094 in Oregon in 1983. He was a carpenter and a farmer who lived in Oregon and Idaho, then moved back to New Mexico where he lived in Belen. His hobby was repairing clocks. Wayne was a Christian who loved the Lord and loved listening to gospel hymns. He was a devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed. Services will be held Saturday, December 18, at 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
