TAFOYA -- TOMMY E. Passed away peacefully at home with his children by his side on August 14, 2011. He was born in Raton, NM on December 23, 1932. He was preceded in death by his parents, Filbert and Frances Tafoya; his brothers, Steve and Filbert Tafoya; his daughter, Arlene Valdez. He is survived by his sister, Ercy Gallegos of Pueblo, CO; brothers, Arthur Tafoya of Albuquerque, NM, and Billy Samon of Pueblo, CO; his children, Larry Tafoya and wife Kathy, Paul Tafoya, Diana Gaudio, Roberta Evans and husband Kevin, all of Albuquerque, NM, Juanita Marquez of La Harbra, CA, and Richard Tafoya and wife Kim of Skiatook, OK. He had 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Albuquerque, NM.

JANSSEN -- KEITH DAVID Age 49, of Albuquerque passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 16, 2011. Keith was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He enjoyed walking, horseback riding, and challenging family members at Dominos, Trouble, and other games. No matter what trials and tribulations that he went through, Keith never complained. He loved to joke with people. Keith was a long-time employee of Dos Hermanos Restaurant where he gained many friends. He is survived by his parents, Larry and Carol Janssen; sister, Karen Hill; niece Jennifer Perez and husband James; nephews, Jonathon Cottrell and Ryan Hill, all of Albuquerque; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Keith was preceded in death by brother, David Janssen; and sister, Diane Janssen; grandparents, Herbert and Edna Janssen and Thomas Glen and Opal Clark. Keith will be greatly loved and missed by all who knew him. A local service will be held Friday, August 19, 2011, 5:00 PM, at French-Westside Chapel. A separate service will take place in Enid, OK on Monday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m., at Anderson Burris Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. JONES -- ILENE LAVONNE A long-time resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, August 11, 2011, at the age of 88. She was born on May 14, 1923 in Ohlman, Illinois. She is survived by her spouse, Delbert Jones, Jr. of Albuquerque; daughters, Carol Wilson and husband Jim of Wisconsin, Kathy Taylor and husband Matthew of Albuquerque; son, Larry Jones and wife Heather of Montana; eight grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is remembered as a loving Christian wife, mother, and grandmother whose faith in the Lord was evident in her everyday life. HORTON -- BOB DALE Age 80, a resident of Belen, NM and formerly of Clovis, NM passed away on Saturday, August 13, 2011. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Bob was a long time member of the Belen Moose Lodge and he enjoyed many of the moose members and all of the Moose Lodge activities. He was an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad running trains from Clovis to Belen for over 42 years. He was a member of the BLE (Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Union). He was also a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees, retiring from AT&SF in 1992. Bob proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He loved traveling with his wife Barbara throughout the country in their motor home and together they enjoyed many places and many friends. He truly loved all of his grandchildren and always looked forward to be surrounded by them. He was preceded in death by his father, E.L. (Monk) Horton; mother, Daisy Mae Jester Horton; two brothers, Herschel Horton and Terry Horton and nephew, Art Horton. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Barbara A. Sanchez Horton; his children, Nancy Long and husband, Dewey of Lavon, TX, Larry Horton and wife, Gail of Amarillo, TX, Tammy C de Baca and husband, Darren of Albuquerque, NM and Tanya Frazer and husband, Tim of Albuquerque, NM; brother, Jim Horton and wife, Ann; 11 grandchildren, Stephen Horton, Anthony Wilson, Rachel Horton, Bobby Horton, Jeffery Horton, Ashley Long, Dewey Long, Brandy Baldonado, Brian Baldonado, Andre C de Baca and Ashlee C de Baca and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A final visitation will be at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Father Bijoi Francis presiding. ARCHIBEQUE -- MICHAEL "MICKEY" Resident of Rio Rancho, formerly of Bernalillo and Albuquerque, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the age of 78. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Cindy of 53 years; three daughters, Audrey and Glenn Roybal, Laurie and Larry Tiley, Elaine and Leon Martinez; and eight grandchildren, Justin Roybal and AJ Chavez, Ashley Roybal, Lyndsey and Ernie Vallejos, Leslie Tiley, Zachary Wallace, and Matthew Martinez; He is also survived by his brother Kelly and his wife Bella; sister-in-law Viola Archibeque, and two Lhasa Apsos, Peaches and Ginger. Mickey attended St. Nicholas Brothers School and Our Lady of Sorrows High School in Bernalillo and the Universities of Albuquerque and New Mexico and Draughon's College in Albuquerque. Mickey served during the Korean War era as a paratrooper, in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era, and spent many years in the New Mexico Air National Guard. He retired from the Federal Civil Service on Kirtland Air Force Base. He was a member of the Sandoval County Historical Society, Bureau of Elections, Masonic Lodge and Job's Daughters, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. Mickey was also a member of the New Mexico Honor Guard and the United States Volunteers. He was a rifleman and participated in countless memorial services for Veterans, to whom he was extremely dedicated. It was his desire that each of his countless acquaintances celebrate his life and that each one remember the good times and special moments to keep his memory alive. He wants to be remembered in everyone's hearts and prayers as he lived. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Destiny Center Church in Rio Rancho on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. The Destiny Center is located at 4401 Northern Blvd. NE, 87124. STEINER -- LORRAINE (OPP) 1926-2011 Age 84, a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Belen, N.M., passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 8. She was born on Sept. 17, 1926 in Hazelton, N.D. When she was seventeen years old, she met the love of her life, Carl Steiner and they wed two years later after the war. Lorraine embraced Jesus and became a Catholic soon after. They lived a loving and blessed life together for 65 years. Lorraine was an energetic vibrant lady whose passion and pursuit of pride reflected in all she did, whether it was gardening, baking pies, needlework, or jerky making. Her many devotees gave her the name "The Jerky Lady." She loved laughing and visiting with friends and family. She was devoted to her husband, and they were never apart. Her children and grandchildren all have wonderful remembrances of grandma. She is survived by her devoted husband, Carl; children and their spouses, Tom and Carla, Linda Jones, Greg and Clara, Debbie and Bill Earle, Mille Jean and Larry Elkins; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Claudia, Karen, and Donna. ARBALLO -- GILBERT ARVIZO Age 90, went to be with his Heavenly Father Saturday, August 6, 2011. He passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1920 to Agapito and Josepha Arvizo, in Tempe, AZ. "Gil" as his army buddies called him, was a brave WWII Veteran who served in the 68th Armored Infantry Battalion in Central Europe. Some of his decorations and citations were, the Bronze Star; Good Conduct Medal; Presidential Unit Citation; European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign Medals with three Bronze Service Stars; Combat Infantry Badge First Award, just to name a few. Gilbert accepted the Lord Jesus as his Savior at a young age of 22 and went on to become a Deacon and Minister. His first Pastorship of the Apostolic Church was in Santa Maria, CA, then Las Cruces, NM; Silver City, NM and Albuquerque, NM. In his later years he was a Pastor of three small Churches in Tecolotito, NM; Las Vegas, NM and Lovington, NM, he also served as an Elder and Bishop. Gilbert was a man of prayer; he loved the word of God, a man of great faith and lived to please the Lord. He was well loved by family, friends and brethren. He had a jolly disposition and was very optimistic because of his great trust in the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Rosa Cordova-Arballo, the mother of his children; two brothers Hector and David and granddaughter Rosalinda Hernandez. Gilbert is survived by his loving wife Consuelo of 19 years; sons, Richard Medina and wife Martha of Santa Maria, CA, Joe Arballo and wife Becky of San Diego, CA, David Arballo and wife Enedina of Las Cruces, NM; one daughter Rose Saenz and husband Luis of Albuquerque, NM; sisters Mary of San Diego, CA and Oliva of Oxnard, CA; brothers Alex of San Diego, CA and Mario of Oxnard, CA; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. A Visitation and will take place Thursday, August 11, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at South Valley Apostolic Church, 1242 Atrisco Dr. SW. with a Memorial Service to follow. Pastor Jimmy Arellano will officiate a Funeral Service Friday, August 12, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. also at the South Valley Apostolic Church Interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
