BRITO -- Margaret Otero Brito died peacefully May 26, 2009. She was born September 4, 1921 in San Fidel, NM to Cleotilde and Tranquilino Otero. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Efren Brito, her parents, siblings, Marion Iriart, John Otero, Fidel Otero and Tranquilino Otero. Mrs. Brito is survived by her sister, Ruth Saavedra and three brothers, Vicente Otero and wife Inez, Albert Otero and wife Flora and Wilfred Otero and wife Cecilia, her sisters-in-law Susie Otero, Stella Otero, Ruth Brito, brothers-in-law Landy Brito and wife Mary Lou and Benny Brito and wife Lourdes, several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her step-children, Betty Cooper, Sue Ann Smith and husband Cliff, Cecilia Lovato and husband Joe, Virginia Sanchez, Alberta Milton and husband, and Raymond Brito and wife Marty, several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Brito received her Bachelor's Degree from St Joseph College, Albuquerque, and her Master's degree from Creighton University in Nebraska. She was a member of the Order of Franciscan nuns for 24 years in Colorado Springs, Co. Margaret was a member of the National Education Association and Delta Kappa Gamma. Her love for children saw a teaching career that spanned 46 years in places such as Colorado Springs, Nebraska, Los Alamos, Grants, Gallup and finally retiring from the Los Lunas Public Schools. Upon retirement, she traveled extensively with her husband Efren to Spain, Rome, Hawaii, Mexico, several states including Alaska and the Panama Canal. Mr. and Mrs. Brito were members of the Queen of Heaven Catholic Parish for many years. She will long be remembered for her generosity, intelligence, love of education and especially her love of her family. A Rosary will be recited 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 28, 2009 at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd NE, and a Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2009 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Burial to follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. JARAMILLO -- Dona Ramona Lopez Jaramillo, 87, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 25, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 14, 1922 to Ignacio and Elifida Lopez in Manzano, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents and her devoted husband, Reynaldo Jaramillo and brothers, Ray, Casey and Eddie, one sister, Carol. Ramona is survived by her son Phil and wife Mary, Nash and wife Jackie, Arthur and wife Kathy, Ray and wife Veronica, Joseph and wife Yolanda, Johnny and wife Christina, two daughters Mary Lujan and companion Victor, Corine Ruiz and husband Alex and one very special provider her grandson, Albert. Three brothers, Ignacio Joe and wife Pauline, Moses and wife (Mary) Chita, Steve "Tito" and wife Irene; seven sisters, Flora and husband Manuel, Emily and husband David, Sandra and husband Freddie, Viola and husband Xavier, Aurelia and husband Louie, Barbara and husband Bob, Stella and husband Jamie; and two sister-in-laws, Kathy Lopez and Angie Jaramillo. 23 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Ramona was employed as a Foster Grandmother at Navajo and Kit Carson Elementary schools. She was also a member of St. Edwin's Catholic Church and a member of the Altar Rosary Society and a Cursillista and Centro De Amo. Pallbearers will be Billy Jaramillo, Fermin Lujan, James Jaramillo, Chris Ruiz, Bobby Jaramillo, Mickey Jaramillo, Jessica Barela and Casey Jaramillo. A visitation will be held at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary on Friday, May 29, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Friday, at 7:00 p.m., also at the 8th Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary and Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 9:00 a.m., at St. Edwin's Catholic Church. MONTOYA -- Esequiel Kelly, 85, a resident of Corrales, New Mexico, passed away Saturday evening, May 23, 2009 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Kelly was born September 18, 1923 the son of Miguel C. and Lupita Pino Montoya in Cerro, New Mexico. He grew up in Cerro, NM and Walsenburg, CO and was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a graduate of the University of New Mexico and was employed by Sandia National Laboratories for 35 years, retiring in 1988 as a Department Manager of Computer Operations. As a young man working for the Rural Electric Association, he helped bring electricity to many areas of northern New Mexico, which led to his discovery of Black Lake, NM which later led to his avocation for ranching and raising cattle in Black Lake. He was an avid fly fisherman from his early youth and fished the rivers and streams throughout the entire Rocky Mountain region. He took great pride in the produce from his backyard gardens, often donating fruits and vegetables to local charities. He passed six days shy of his 63rd wedding anniversary to his surviving wife, Theresa Medina Montoya. Kelly was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe. He is survived by his five children, Betty Ann Ryan and husband Ned of Rio Rancho, Jerry Montoya and wife June of Corrales, Stephen Montoya and wife Linda of Las Vegas, NV, Paul Montoya and wife Janet of Denver, CO, and Gene Montoya and wife Maria of Corrales; brothers, Floyd Montoya and wife Bernice of Mountain view, CA, Lupe Young and wife Teresa of Cerro, NM and his sister Dubie Rael and husband John of Albuquerque; fifteen grandchildren, Kellie R. Scoggie and husband Rick, Jaime R. Testa and husband Alvaro, Patrick P. Ryan, Laura M. Gallardo, Angelica Montoya, Jenna Montoya, Jodi Montoya, Belinda M. Labovitz and husband Brian, Adam K. Montoya, Leah Montoya, Jennifer M. Miller and husband Mikel, Jaclyn M. Callahan and husband Brian, Scott Montoya, Shelby Montoya, Peter, Johnny, Michael and Patricia Alvarado; and seven great-grandchildren, Alvaro and Alessandra Testa, Andrew and Luke Miller, Emery Callahan, Alexander Labovitz, and Cruz Gallardo. The Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 6 to 7 PM with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 28, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the San Ysidro Catholic Church in Corrales with interment following in Vista Verde Memorial Park, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. RIBONI -- Carmelita R. Riboni, age 98, passed away on May 23, 2009. She was born September 7, 1910, in Carnuel, NM to Pedro and Eligia Garcia. Carmelita was preceded in death by her loving husband, Domingo Riboni; sons, Dino and Tony W. Riboni; and daughters, Virginia R. Sanchez and Rosemary R. Saiz. She lovingly leaves behind four daughters, Armida R. Martinez, Hazel R. Lucero, Wanda Riboni, and Reina R. Griego; one brother, Johnny Garcia; 27 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Cremation will take place with private services to follow. BOYD -- Bill Boyd, 83, a loving father, brother, Papa and Great Papa went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 22, 2009. Born February 8, 1926, in Salina, Oklahoma, he served in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Div. in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. Bill later married and had four children. He worked for the San Juan County Sheriff's Department and retired from El Paso Natural Gas. He was a life-long Mason, loved baseball, country music, western movies and dancing. Most of all he enjoyed his friends and family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, E.D. and Florence; daughters, Kathleen and Patsy Kay; brothers Jesse, Johnny and Frances; and sisters Bula and Faye. He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie; son, Bill David; brother Philip; sisters Sue, Willa, Juanita and Mary Ann; grandchildren Ginger, Tammy, Deanna, Bill John and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Mindy, Amie, Madie, Cleo, Tyron, Chandler, Tess & Jack. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will be forever in our hearts. BUSTAMANTE -- Antonia (Baca) Bustamante, age 79, a resident of Peralta, NM, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009. She was born to the late Antonio and Librada (Montoya) Baca. Antonia was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She was also a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM where she visited and helped with patients. Antonia worked at the Rio Valley Green Houses in Albuquerque. She loved dancing and playing bingo. Her home was always opened to anyone, full of unconditional love, compassion, forgiveness and a smile. If you needed her she was always there for you. Antonia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Sylvestre, Louie, Ralph and Manuel Baca; and her two children, Elizabeth Bryan and Kenneth Bustamante. RICHARDSON -- Robert M. Richardson age 81 of Socorro, NM, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Albuquerque. He was born on August 11, 1927 in Arabela, NM to Granville and Amanda Richardson. He married Helen H. Chavez on March 1, 1952 in Carrizozo, NM. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Priscilla Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the United States Army. He was a current member of the San Miguel Catholic Church of Socorro, NM. He was a retiree of the Federal Government at Stallion Site after 30 years of service as well as ten years with E.M.E.R.T.C. located on the grounds of New Mexico Tech. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen, of Socorro, NM; his children, Annette M. Richardson of Socorro, Phillip D. Richardson of Albuquerque, Robert Richardson Jr. and his wife, Peggy, of Hondo, NM, Lavinia Herrera and her husband, Joe, of Roswell, NM; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-greandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Olivia Vigil of Santa Fe and Rebecca Torrez of Corrales; brothers, Albert Richardson and his wife, Emma, of Ruidoso Downs, Billy Richardson of Roswell, Philbert Richardson of Ruidoso; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. CORDOVA -- Cecilia A. Cordova, age 74, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2009 in Albuquerque following a long illness. She was born on July 2, 1934, in Santa Fe, to Alfonso and Manuelita Sanchez Aguilar. Her loving family surviving her passing are her husband, Toby Cordova; son, Mariano "Chris" Herrera and wife Cricket; daughters, Patti Maestas and Tobey Woodall and husband Steven; daughter-in-law, Eloisa Herrera; son-in-law, Robert Maestas, six grandchildren, Christine Watts, Rick Herrera and wife Amanda, Sophia Jaramillo and husband Jonathan, Jennifer Maestas, Madeline and Aidan Woodall; and six great-grandchildren, Justin Watts, Harley Flores, KeAnna, Emiliano and Tatum Herrera and baby Andres Jaramillo. She is also survived by her siblings, Alfonso "Tito" Aguilar, Eleanor Collins and Marie Aguilar; best friend Mary Garcia and many nieces and nephews. Our beloved mother will be remembered for her unconditional love, her sense of humor and her wonderful memory, often sharing stories of her youth. An avid reader, an enthusiastic storyteller and a wonderful cook, her greatest joy was sharing these gifts with her children and grandchildren. Prior to her illness and retirement, Cecilia was a long time employee at Victor's Pharmacy and Duran's Pharmacy, where she made many life-long friends. She is preceded in death by her sons, Johnny and Frank Herrera, infant grandson, Mario Maestas, her parents Alfonso and Manuelita Aguilar; siblings Cleo Pigut, Olivia Parks, Amanda Gomez and Charlie Aguilar. She was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church. Special thanks to the kind staff at Albuquerque Care Center and VistaCare Center at Lovelace Hospital.
