BOYD -- Bill Boyd, 83, a loving father, brother, Papa and Great Papa went peacefully to be with the Lord on May 22, 2009. Born February 8, 1926, in Salina, Oklahoma, he served in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry Div. in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star. Bill later married and had four children. He worked for the San Juan County Sheriff's Department and retired from El Paso Natural Gas. He was a life-long Mason, loved baseball, country music, western movies and dancing. Most of all he enjoyed his friends and family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, E.D. and Florence; daughters, Kathleen and Patsy Kay; brothers Jesse, Johnny and Frances; and sisters Bula and Faye. He is survived by his daughter, Jeannie; son, Bill David; brother Philip; sisters Sue, Willa, Juanita and Mary Ann; grandchildren Ginger, Tammy, Deanna, Bill John and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Mindy, Amie, Madie, Cleo, Tyron, Chandler, Tess & Jack. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him and will be forever in our hearts. CONWELL -- Kenneth L. Conwell, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1939, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the VA Hospital. He is survived by his son, Kenneth L. Conwell II; his daughter, Pamela Whitfield and her husband, Daryl; one grandson, Shawn Michael Whitfield; and several nieces and nephews, all of Albuquerque. Kenneth was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Kathleen E. Conwell on March 17, 2009. He was born on June 3, 1927 in Wheeler, TX to James and Edna Davis Conwell and grew up there until the age of 12 when he and his family moved to Albuquerque. Kenneth was a graduate of Albuquerque High School. After high school he entered the U.S. Navy during WW II and served for 1 year till the war ended. Kenneth married Kathleen Mann on September 12, 1947 in Albuquerque. He was a Mason and a Shriner and was President and CEO of K.L. Conwell Corp. for over 50 years. Kenneth was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. CRISPIN -- Joe Evaristo Crispin passed away on Tuesday morning, May 19, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. Joe was born in Las Vegas, NM on January 4, 1921, the only son of Rafael and Margarita Crispin. He grew up in Mosquero, NM, graduating from Mosquero High School in 1940. Joe was a veteran of World War II, serving 3 years and 3 months in the U.S. Army Air Force, and is a Life member of the American Legion Post 99. After returning from the service he worked for the New Mexico Highway Department as a road surveyor. He later attended New Mexico Highlands University, earning Bachelors and Master of Science degrees in Biology. He did additional graduate work at the University of California at Berkeley, Colorado College, the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and the University of New Mexico. Joe had a distinguished 32 year career as an educator beginning at Penasco High School, where he served as science teacher and assistant principal. He later transferred to Espanola High School, serving as Chairman of the Science Department. He was also an adjunct professor for New Mexico Highlands University for teacher accreditation courses. Joe was a life member of the National Education Association. After retirement, Joe became a member of the Board of Directors for the Senior Citizens program in Santa Fe, until he and his wife moved to Albuquerque. Twice he was conferred the honor of Colonel-aide-de-Camp by the Governor of New Mexico, and received other awards for volunteerism from The City Different Retired Educators and the Senior Citizens organization. Joe loved music and played the saxophone, guitar, violin, piano, banjo, and bandolin. The guitar was his favorite and he was especially proud of a custom classical guitar made for him by Pimentel & Sons. Joe Evaristo Crispin is survived by his wife, Celine; his son, Joe Crispin (Tina) of Lake Elizabeth, CA, and his daughters, Jeneane Schneider (Cal) of St. Charles, MO., and Kathryn Clark (Dean) of Albuquerque; twelve grandchildren, Joey Crispin (Chrissy), Mauree Hamilton (Brownie), Rohn Engh, Michelle Wallace (Dave), and Tracy Claflin (Jim) and their mother, Anna Marie Crispin; Vanessa Peralta (Chris) and her mother, Margie Engs; Tony Crispin, Kimberly Schneider, Kyle Schneider, Joy Bouton (Kim), Brendan Clark, and Kevin Clark; sixteen great-grandchildren, Jack, Haley, Ronin, Aubrianna, Kade, Mikailin, Devon, Marcus, Emilio, Lily, Amanda, Justin, Lindsey, Sayra, Jami, and Loren; his niece and nephew, Patty Alfred and Pat Martinez of Llano, CA; cousin Patricia Moon of Albuquerque; and many other friends and family. Rosary will be recited Monday, May 25, 2009, 4:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with visitation one hour prior to Rosary. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, May 26, 2009, 9:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix Ave. NE. Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joey Crispin, Kyle Schneider, Brendan Clark, Kevin Clark, Devon Bouton, Marcus Bouton, and Tony Crispin. LIPINSKI -- Kendra Lipinski, 26, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, May 21, 2009. She is survived by her parents, Ron Lipinski and Therese Goetz; sister, Val Lipinski; grandmother, Barbara Lipinski, all of Albuquerque; aunts, Carolann Gerhard and husband, John of Loveland, CO, Christy Edwards of Albuquerque, Marybeth Perez-Soto and husband, Jose Luis of Albuquerque, and Dorothy Brokaw of Manchester, NH; uncles, Tim Lipinski of Albuquerque, Bob Lipinski and wife, Kim of Riverwoods, IL, Eric Lipinski and wife, Lana of Littleton, CO, John Goetz and wife, Linda of North Attleboro, MA, Frederick Goetz of Dunellen, NJ, Eric Goetz and wife, Sonia of Boonton, NJ, and Jim Goetz and wife, Laurie of Liverpool, NY; special friends, Thelma Giomi and Devaraj Aran, both of Albuquerque; and many other friends and cousins. Kendra graduated from Eldorado High School as Valedictorian. She received her Bachelors in Science with honors from Pomona College. Ms. Lipinski received her Masters in Biology with distinction from UNM. She volunteered with Key Club in Albuquerque and Mortar Board in Claremont, CA and with Middle School Student Outreach in San Diego, CA with Salk Lab. Kendra loved ballroom, salsa, and swing dancing. She loved hiking and skiing in the mountains, and sculpting as hobbies. Ms. Lipinski also sang in the University Choir. A service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 10:00 at French Mortuary, University Location, and a Memorial Mass will be held at John XXIII Catholic Community Church on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 2:00 .m.. MORGAN -- Donald Charles Morgan, 87 a longtime De Baca County rancher and farmer died Sunday, May 24, 2009 in Albuquerque following an illness. He was born June 21, 1921 to the home of Charles A. and Ollie Mae (Anderson) Morgan. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Air Corps. Don married Evelyn Haralson on June 20, 1970 in Fort Sumner. Don was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn Morgan on Oct. 19, 2007. Survivors include a daughter Yolanda Cline; son Thomas C. Haralson Jr.; granddaughters Melinda R. Cline-Hazel, Cynthia L. Cline-Hazel; grandsons Gerald T. Cline, Thomas C. Haralson III, Shane Morgan Haralson; and adopted granddaughters Lisa Walraven and Mickilynn McRee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from the Church of Christ in Fort Sumner. Burial will follow at Fort Sumner Cemetery. PACHECO -- Libby Pacheco, 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, May 21, 2009. She is survived by her siblings, Lily Jaramillo of Lancaster, CA, Gilly Pacheco of Albuquerque and Betty Barela of Belen; many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many special friends. Libby was preceded in death by her parents, Nicolas and Rumaldita Pacheco; siblings, Florenio Pacheco, Alice Chavez, Beatrice Lopez, and Juan Pacheco. She was born in Albuquerque on November 26, 1922 and later moved to Veguita, NM where she helped care for her mother. Libby took great pride in her service as a private secretary at Kirtland Air Force Base for over 30 years, from where she later retired. She was a dedicated member of her church, El Buen Samaritano UMC. She served as the church historian, sang in the choir and was an active member in the organization of United Methodist Women. Libby will be remembered for her profound faith, love and generosity towards her friends and family. A Graveside Service will be held in Libby's honor on Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at 10:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE. SCHROEDER -- Troy Scott Schroeder, aka, The Wolf Slayer, born March 16, 1967 in Amarillo, TX, passed away, Friday, May 22, 2009 in Albuquerque, NM. Scott is survived by his son Jacob Schroeder; his parents David and Charlene Schroeder; his sister Carrie Stansbery, her husband Daniel, their daughters, RaeLeigh and Charlie; his soul mate Ann Beddingfield and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Scott spent his life with concern and in support of others. He had the unique ability to bring the very best out in everyone he met. SLOAN -- Carolyn S. Sloan, age 69 of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2009 at a local care facility. She was born on February 17, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN. to Benton and Ruth Harlan. Carolyn married Neal P. Sloan on March 3, 1960 in Albuquerque, he preceded her in death on May 7, 1996 after 36 years of marriage. Carolyn was a current member of Hoffmantown Church. She enjoyed being an usher at Popejoy Hall for many years. Carolyn is survived by her children, Tim Sloan and his wife, Barbara, and Janice Steinbach and her husband, Mark, all of Albuquerque; her grandchildren, Amy McConnell and husband, Mark, Melissa Sloan, Ryan and Eric Steinbach, all of Albuquerque; her brother, Ben Harlan and his wife, Mary, of Indianapolis, IN; and several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law. She also was preceded in death by her son, Terry L. Sloan; and her sister, Emilie Kelso. STURGES -- Lucille Sturges, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2009, at the age of 91. A loving wife, sister, devoted mother and grandmother and good friend to many. Lucille was born and raised in Menard, TX. She met and married her husband, Jack in Ft. Worth, TX. The couple lived in California and Texas briefly before moving to Albuquerque in 1946 to work and raise a family. She is survived by her three children, Barbara Schnurr and husband, Bob of Boulder, CO, Joe Sturges and wife, Patti of Albuquerque, and Glinda Lobdell of Placitas; four grandchildren, Denise and Scott Ikenberry of Lakewood, CO, Carl and Carla Schnurr of Oak Park, CA, Eric and Erika Schnurr of Richardson, TX, and Darci Lobdell of Placitas; six great-grandchildren; and siblings, James Rodgers of Lafayette, LA, Ellouise Pearl of Albuquerque and Arthur Rodgers, Jr. of Arlington, TX. Her husband of 68 years preceded her in death in 2006. Lucy enjoyed her flower gardens here and at her mountain cabin at Vallecito, CO. TRUJILLO -- Maria C. Trujillo, age 77, a longtime resident of El Coyote, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Los Torres, New Mexico on April 24, 1932 to the late Pedro Montano and Regina Martinez-Montano. She was united in marriage on August 1948 in Greeley, Colorado to Richard A. Trujillo. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to bake, pray and spend time outside at the ranch. A lifelong Catholic, she was a member of St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. She was preceded in death by her parents: Pedro and Regina Montano; brothers: Marcos Montano, Felipe Montano and Ventura Montano. She is survived by her husband: Richard A. Trujillo of El Coyote, NM; daughters and sons: Lorraine Austin of San Antonio, Texas, Randy Trujillo of El Coyote, NM, Tony Trujillo and wife Linda Mae and Benjamin Trujillo and wife Eula all of Las Vegas, NM, Isabel Villez and husband Lawrence of Alb., NM, Manuel Trujillo and girl friend Celina Martinez, Raymond Trujillo and Rudy Trujillo all Las Vegas, NM, Joseph Trujillo and girlfriend Celia Suazo of Mora, NM, Phillip Trujillo and girlfriend Cenda Wilcox of El Coyote, NM and Moises Trujillo and wife Judy of Las Vegas, NM; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; sisters: Beatrice Baca and Pita Cordova both of Clovis, NM; brother-in-law: Raymond Trujillo and wife Jean of Alb., NM; numerous: nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Rosary devotional services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 7:00pm at the Immaculate Conception Church. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 9:00am at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father George V. Salazar as celebrant. Interment will follow at Los Trujillo Cemetery in El Coyote, NM with the following serving as casket bearers: Phillip Trujillo, James Villez, Manuel Trujillo, Michael Trujillo, Benjamin Trujillo, and Orasio Montoya. Serving as honorary bearers will be all of her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She will lie in state at the Rogers Chapel all day on Monday and Tuesday where family and friends may call. WOODWARD -- James A. Woodward "PAPA" Dad "papa" how did one year already pass? Our hearts still feel like it were yesterday. You had such a huge effect on everyone's life that you are deeply missed every day. One day our broken hearts will mend, because we have wonderful memories.
