Marble -- Esther"Birdie" A. Marble, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Thursday, September 3, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley A. Grant of Albuquerque; one grandson, Michael Wallace and wife, Brenda of Farmington; two granddaughters, Leanne Miller and husband, James and Karen D. Grant of Albuquerque; sister, Helen Robinson of Roswell, NM; niece, Louise Duyfhuizen and husband, Aerie Dirk of Roswell; nephew, LeRoy Petersen and wife, Helen of Albuquerque; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was a member of Central United Methodist. Mrs. Marble was an avid knitter and crocheter and came to Albuquerque from Saginaw, MI in 1962 to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She worked for many years in the Drapery and Bedding Department of Kistler Collister where she retired. Esther belonged to Knitting Clubs and Martha Group in Church. Stockdale -- Opal L. Stockdale, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, died Thursday, September 3, 1998. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Morgan and husband, Michael of Albuquerque; grandson Kyle Morgan and wife, Kelly of Huntsville, TX; niece, Ruth Mitchem and husband, Carl of Independence, KS; and grandnieces, Marla Sanders of Topeka, KS and Allida Branton and husband, Richard of Columbia, MO. Mrs. Stockdale had a great love of music. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, 3:30 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper Ave. NE, with Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Westcott -- Joanne Westcott, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 1998. She is survived by her sister, Ann Fitzwater of Albuquerque; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born June 22, 1910 in the Ukraine but spent most of her life in western New York where she worked as a licensed practical nurse. She was a former member of the UNM Hospital Auxillary, Women's Auxillary of St. Charles and Duke City Bridge Club. There will be a memorial mass for Joanne by Fr. Roger Bourgeois at St. Charles Borromeo Church, University and Coal SE at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 10, 1998. Cremation by Sunrise Society. .DMP

Bibeau -- Anna S. Bibeau, 96, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 1998. She and her husband, Ed, moved to Albuquerque in 1947. That same year, they opened and operated Ed's Super Market, a neighborhood grocery store, on 1418 Grand NE. Anna was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and when her husband preceded her in death in 1965, it was her brave spirit and her deep faith that guided her through the years. In 1992, Anna became a resident of Mission Manor and through the help of the staff, she participated in new activities, made new friends, and still enjoyed the visits of family and old friends. Anna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Fernand A. Bibeau and his wife, Phyllis, Claire M. Blankenship and her husband, Clarence, and Edward E. Bibeau and his wife, Bonnie; two sisters, Eva Marquis of Nashua, NH and Juliette Coddington of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of her Life will be held Monday, 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Clarence Blankenship officiating. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE, with Father Normand Falardeau, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anna's grandsons, Daniel E. Bibeau, David A Bibeau, Robert Bibeau, Gary Blankenship, Dale Blankenship, James Blankenship, Paul Blankenship, and Grant Blankenship. Anna's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Mission Manor and Sandia Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Anna during the last phase of her life. Moore -- Martha Ruth Mullinax Moore was born December 25, 1911 to Mary Girdner Mullinax and Charles I. Mullinax on Paradise Valley Farm near Princeton, Missouri. She spend her early life in Princeton, graduating from Princeton Schools. She graduated from Christian College, Columbia Missouri and the University of Missouri and later attended the College of Santa Fe and New Mexico Eastern University. She married Dr. Robert D. Moore on May 6, 1934. The became the parents of three children, Wood Mullinax Moore, Linda Frances Moore and Joseph Curtis Moore. She taught in the Ruidoso school system for 30 years before retiring where she received national recognition for her school art projects. In 1982 she was elected to the South East National Education of New Mexico Hall of Fame. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Moore; son, Wood Mullinax Moore; and a grandson, Matt Alan McLean. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Moore Caldwell; son, Joe Moore; three granddaughters, Mary Anna Moore, Tracy Tafoya and Karrie Pierson; six great-grandchildren, Sage Moore, Amy Moore, Brittany Tafoya, Emily Tafoya, Katherine Pierson and Joseph Pierson. She was a member of P.E.O., honorary teachers sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa, she served as president of Beta Sigma Phi, the Pink Ladies and the Ruidoso Education Association. She was also a member of the Methodist Church. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow in Princeton, Missouri.

Fleming -- Sidney D. (Sid) Fleming passed away September 2 at the age of 88. His youth was spent on the family ranch near Artesia where Sid attended high school. During WWII he worked for Douglas Aircraft at their plant in Los Angeles. Near the end of the war Sid moved to Albuquerque where he and his brother started a house painting business. After retirement he converted his fiddle-making hobby into an after retirement profession which gave him and his wife, Kay, the opportunity to travel to fiddle contests all over the country. In addition to competing in the contests, Sid also enjoyed the opportunity to display his many handmade instruments. He was often called on to help his fellow fiddlers by making on the spot repairs to their instruments. He was honored by induction into the Old Time Fiddlers Hall of Fame. Sid has now joined his beloved Kay in that great ever after where Old Time Fiddlers go to play for the Master. He is survived by his daughter, Tenna Daliposon of Santa Clara, California; two sons, Rev. Charles Windsor of Springerville, AZ, and James Windsor of Clovis, CA; nine grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren; a nephew, Buddy Fleming of Estanchia; and a niece, Ginger Hamaker of Colorado. Internment will be in Lovington, NM. If you so desire, make contributions in Sid's honor to the charity of your choice. Hunt -- Robert G. Hunt, 66, passed away Friday, September 4. He was born May 6, 1932 in Salida, CO and moved with his family to Albuquerque in 1940. He attended Albuquerque Public Schools and served with the 1st Marine Division in Korea. He retired from Mt. Bell Telephone in 1983 after 30 years of service. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; sons, Greg Hunt and wife, Alberta of Tijeras, Bruce Hunt and fiancee, Kathleen Kelleher of Santa Clarita, CA; two granddaughters, Melissa Nichole and Jennifer Marie; sisters, Margaret Rohde of Longmont, CO, Myra Springer of Pensacola, FL, Joy Whitcomb of Redding, CA, Peg Duddleston and husband, Joe of Albuquerque, Joan Victor of Vancouver, WA; and many nieces and nephews.
