Obituary for Moore

Martha Ruth Mullinax Moore was born December 25, 1911 to Mary Girdner Mullinax and Charles I. Mullinax on Paradise Valley Farm near Princeton, Missouri. She spend her early life in Princeton, graduating from Princeton Schools. She graduated from Christian College, Columbia Missouri and the University of Missouri and later attended the College of Santa Fe and New Mexico Eastern University. She married Dr. Robert D. Moore on May 6, 1934. The became the parents of three children, Wood Mullinax Moore, Linda Frances Moore and Joseph Curtis Moore. She taught in the Ruidoso school system for 30 years before retiring where she received national recognition for her school art projects. In 1982 she was elected to the South East National Education of New Mexico Hall of Fame. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Moore; son, Wood Mullinax Moore; and a grandson, Matt Alan McLean. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Moore Caldwell; son, Joe Moore; three granddaughters, Mary Anna Moore, Tracy Tafoya and Karrie Pierson; six great-grandchildren, Sage Moore, Amy Moore, Brittany Tafoya, Emily Tafoya, Katherine Pierson and Joseph Pierson. She was a member of P.E.O., honorary teachers sorority, Alpha Delta Kappa, she served as president of Beta Sigma Phi, the Pink Ladies and the Ruidoso Education Association. She was also a member of the Methodist Church. Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow in Princeton, Missouri.
