FLORES, MARY ASCENCIO In celebration of a life that touched all she embraced Mary was born in Silver City, NM on May 3rd, 1935. After she graduated from St. Mary's Academy, she moved to Deming, NM where she met and married the love of her life, Samuel Flores. They were married in 1954, started a family, and moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1958 where Mary worked with social services. Moving their family to Albuquerque, NM in 1976, she was able to continue her work as a social worker and retired after 35 years of service. Sam and Mary had nine biological children, but Mary was a mother to many more, most of all including Richard Ortiz, and Alfred and Leo Morris. Mary was pre-deceased by her parents, Jose and Maria Ascencio, Guadalupe and Matias Rivera; three brothers and one sister; and her son, Orlando Rene Flores. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother who is survived by four brothers and three sisters; her beloved husband of 60 years, Sam Flores; and her children, Dolores Vigil and her husband Tom Vigil, Katherine Flores, Jimmy Flores and his wife Olga Flores, Erabella Aragon, Cecilia Flores, Samuel Flores Jr. and wife Rebecca Garcia, Orlando's wife, Dolores Flores, Teresa Flores, and Raquel Flores; also leaving her legacy in her 39 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren, and much more of her family. Mary was a devout member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and a part of the Spanish choir. She passed away peacefully, at the age of 79, in her home surrounded by her family on Sunday, March 1st, 2015. Rosary and Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 6th, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 815 Guaymas Pl NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. BACA, JOHNNY M. age 83, born in Belen, NM, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 with his family at his side. Mr. Baca is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Lupe; children, Rafaelita Gonzales and husband, David, Gloria Chavez and husband, Steven, Johnny R. Baca, Libbie Baca and fiance, Roy Leyba, Dianna L. Baca, and Delfinio Dean Baca; children Johnny and Lupe raised, Michael Sanchez, Darlene Harold and husband, Tim, and Mary Lou Garcia; sisters, Mona Flores, Connie Jaynes, and Lupe Hooker; brother, Ruben Baca and wife, Carol; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-six great- grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Baca was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad. GARNAND, BILLY Billy Garnand, Age 76, a kind, gentle and loving soul passed away on December 2nd after a short illness. He was surrounded by numerous friends and family. Billy was born on February 7th, 1938 in Vaughn, New Mexico and was raised in a beautiful homestead ranch nearby in Milagro, New Mexico. He came from a large family consisting of seven brothers and two sisters. He attended school in Milagro and Santa Rosa, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1957. Billy was drafted and served honorably in the United States Army. He married the love of his life Viola (Madrid) Garnand and celebrated 48 years of marriage last May. Billy and Viola moved to Albuquerque where he began 22 years of service as a firefighter with Albuquerque Fire Department. He was a member of the AFD Retiree's Association. He enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for others, reading and studying the Bible, fishing, working and volunteering at St. Mary's School in Albuquerque, and spending time with friends and family especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Hilaria and Robert-Benjamin Garnand and his brothers, Narciso Garnand, George Garnand and Alex Garnand. He is survived by his wife Viola of 48 years; son Mark Garnand & wife Juanita; son Daniel Garnand and wife Dominca; his daughter Kristina Flores and husband Steve; his grandchildren Candice Garnand, Mikayla Garnand, Krista Garnand, Addyson Garnand, Marcus Flores, Hannah Flores, Angelo Anaya and Justin Anaya and wife Nichele; and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters, Chris Garnand, Duane Garnand, Robert Garnand, David Garnand, Elizabeth Felix and Mary McKinstry as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Billy lived a full and blessed life. He will be missed by many who enjoyed his kind nature and generous spirit. A Rosary will be held at 10 am on Friday, December 5, from St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa with Father Sotero A. Sena Officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Gilbert Garnand, Christopher Garnand, Benjamin Garnand, Casey Aragon, Arthur Gonzales and Ernest Sanchez. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Sanchez, Leon Garnand and members of the Albuquerque Fire Department Retirees. ARAGON, BEATRICE MERCEDES 1923-2014 In Loving Memory of Beatrice Mercedes Aragon, age 91, who passed peacefully into our Lord's hands on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospice in Albuquerque, NM. She was a member of the San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas, NM. Beatrice was born in Cuervo, NM on April 14, 1923. She grew up in Cuervo and attended school there. She lived in Santa Rosa, NM from 1963 to 1977 and in Los Lunas, NM until her passing. Mrs. Aragon enjoyed her time with her large family and a beloved dog, blue, and a menagerie of farm cats. She loved making complicated puzzles, watching game shows and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Guadalupe Maestas Salas; brothers, Reyes, Margarito, and Ramon Salas; husband, Nicolas Pedro; son, Phillip Aragon: grandson, Matthew Baca; sons -in-law, Gilbert Flores, William Cline, Arthur Chavez Jr., and Isidro Baca. Beatrice is survived by her eleven children, Joe Henry of La Loma, NM, Angie Baca of Amarillo, Texas, Ruth Cline of Los Lunas, Lenora Flores of Mesa, Arizona, Lucille (Victor) Baca of Santa Rosa, Pauline Aragon, Nick (Priscilla) Aragon, Madeline Aragon, Fay Aragon, Ray Aragon all of Los Lunas, NM, and Mary Chavez of Los Chavez, NM. She is also survived by two siblings, Flora Page and Andres Salas both of Albuquerque. She had 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. All services will be held at San Clemente Parish in Los Lunas, on Friday, November 28, beginning with at Viewing at 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Los Lentes Cemetery. Pallbearers will be some of her grandchildren, Candice Aragon, Mayo Aragon, Nicols Aragon, Vicente Baca, Jeremy Bridges, and Joshua Chavez. TOLLARDO, DAVID JESSE SR. was born January 24, 1930 in Blacklake, NM. Went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2014. He was preceded in death by parents Aurelio and Cornilia Tollardo; wife Margaret Tollardo; sisters Angelina Tollardo, Lousia Gomez, and Christina Ruiz; his brothers Virgilo, Franklin and Manuel Tollardo. GARCIA FLORES, MARGARET CARMEN age 55, was born on April 6, 1959 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque, NM. Margaret was employed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years. As well, she worked for Akal Security and was a caregiver for the elderly. Margaret loved spending time with her family and especially playing with her grandkids, she will be remembered as the "Big kid" at the party. She enjoyed walking, going to the casino and staying up late. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Beatrice Anaya and Manuel Reyes Garcia; her daughter, Maria Flores; sister, Gloria Garcia; brother, Tony Garcia. She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Andrea Flores and husband Eli Medina, Angelica Mendoza and husband John Ortiz; two brothers, Nick Garcia and Anthony Garcia; three grandchildren, Gabriel, Santiago and Maria as well as many other family members and friends who loved and will miss her. Services will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (St. Mary's Catholic Church), 619 Copper Ave. NW. on Thursday, November 6, 2014. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30am. Burial will then take place at the San Jose Cemetery, Coors and Arenal SW. TORRES, TOMAS E. age 75, (El Charro De Nuevo Mexico) born in Chilili, New Mexico and a resident of Peralta, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, Thursday, September 25, 2014. Mr. Torres is survived by his wife of forty-four years, Terry; his loving daughter, Terri Torres; son, Tomas Torres Jr.; brother, Eddie Torres; seven sisters, Lydia Flores and husband, Larry, Sally Sedillo, Mary Garcia and husband, Hector, Lucille Aragon and husband, Samuel, Gloria Rhodes and husband, Bob, Vicki Nieto and husband, Manuel, Louise Maestas; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Torres was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Morima Torres; brothers, Wilfred Torrez, and Joe J. Torres. Mr. Torres was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved to be around his family, horses and rodeos and also loved music and enjoyed singing. BILLMAIER, LAWRENCE P. Age 93, of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was born on January 5, 1921 in Ida, MI, to Edward and Clara (Althaver) Billmaier where he attended school. Larry served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II in the south Pacific where he was a radioman on transport aircraft. He was involved in low level resupply drops. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with two oak leaves, 2 Gold Battle Stars, Air Medal with two oak leaves and the South Pacific Campaign Ribbon. After his service he married Lucia Palicki in South Bend, IN on February 5, 1949. Larry moved to Albuquerque in 1949 and worked as a cameraman and engineer for KOB TV. He started working for Sandia Labs in 1957 until his retirement in 1986. Larry enjoyed traveling to all 50 states within the U.S. with Lucia, camping, hiking, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He was an Amateur Radio operator. Larry enjoyed Sundays with his family. Larry was a member of Holy Ghost, St. Bernadette's, Sangre de Cristo and Risen Savior Parishes. Larry volunteered at St. Felix's Food pantry in Rio Rancho and at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque. He was also a co-founder of ARCA. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia in 1996; and his sisters, Marie Gotha, Josephine Oberski and Loretta Orberski. He is survived by his children, David (Terrie) Billmaier of Roswell, Mary Flores of Albuquerque, Michael (Robin) Billmaier of Albuquerque, Steven Billmaier of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Tomar Flores of Albuquerque; and step-grandchildren, Shawn Dennis of Phoenix, AZ, Samantha Wagoner of Roswell, Stacie Joos of Erie, CO and Matthew Dennis of Albuquerque; and step-great-grandchildren, Chris, Abby and Connor Wagoner of Roswell and Tye Joos of Erie, CO. Larry's family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care provided by Dan Smith and staff at the Village of Alameda; the therapy team with Altura Home Health; Carmine Brown of House Calls of New Mexico; Evie Nottingham and the caring staff at the Taylor Ranch Beehive and the professionals at Rust Medical Center. Larry was a wonderful father, grandfather and father-in law. He will be missed. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at Risen Savior Catholic Community, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque.
