ARMIJO, DAVID "RICK" Age 47, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on April 10, 1966, to Richard and Gloria Armijo. He was preceded in death by his father Richard Armijo and partner of 25 years Liz Salazar. Rick is survived by son Andre; his daughter Andrea; mother, Gloria Armijo of Albuquerque, NM; his brothers Paul Armijo, Michael Armijo and fiancee Danielle Moya; nephews Mikey, Marcos; and nieces Mercedez and Savannah. Rick had many aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. Rick loved to play the drums and played with the group the Bad Cats. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. His favorite football team was the New Orleans Saints. Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at Ascension Parish. AUGER, IRENE JANET Age 79, a resident of Albuquerque since 1966, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014. She is survived by her children, Tami Auger and her partner, Debbie Reynolds, and Brian Auger and his girlfriend, Julie Chimento; two granddaughters, Lindsey Trainor and Leah Claire Trainor; brother, Jerold Buschke and his wife, Mary Ellen; nieces and nephew; her two cats, Latte and Princess; and many friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Janet Buschke. She was born in 1934 in Columbus, WI and graduated from high school in Beaver Dam, WI before attending nursing school in Madison, WI. Irene moved with her family to Albuquerque in 1966 where she worked as a Registered Nurse for Presbyterian Hospital and Dr. Robert Tully until her retirement. After retirement, she worked for Mervyn's Department Store where she took pride in being known as the "Christmas Lady" due to her enjoyment of taking care of the Christmas department during the holidays and her meticulous organizational skills. Irene was a very avid and skilled craftsperson, winning numerous blue ribbons in the state fair for her sewing, knitting, and needlepoint. She loved spending time with family and friends and doting over her pets. Irene was a loving mother and grandmother and will be forever missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Irene's Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. A reception will follow. BOWERS, MELISSA K. Melissa K. Bowers, age 44, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2014 after a long illness with her loving family by her side. Melissa was a life long resident of Albuquerque. Melissa most recently worked for Direct Buy. She was known as a super sales person. Several times she ranked as the top, or near the top, sales person in the nation for that company. More important to Melissa was her relationship with her God, Jehovah. Everyone who came into contact with her soon found that out. She loved to share her hope in God's Kingdom with everyone she met. Melissa was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1984 and served her God faithfully right up to her last breath. She was preceded in death by her siblings Kimberly and Matthew Bowers. Melissa is survived by her parents Ron & Karin Bowers; Larry Mills; grandmother Thea Gallegos; brother Kenneth Bowers, his wife Courtney; brothers Patrick Bowers and Adrian Mills; niece Elizabeth Chavez; nephew Timothy Bowers; uncle Bob Bowers; Marian Davis, her husband Henry; Jasmine Briggs, her husband Rocky; many loving cousins and countless special friends. Melissa touched many lives with her love, spirit, and strength. Perhaps one of her most outstanding qualities was her generosity. She was always willing to lend a helping hand, no matter what circumstances she herself was in. She always looked for the best in others. She definitely affected the lives of those she touched. She will be greatly missed. Her confidence in the resurrection hope was strong to the very end. She was sustained by Martha's words to Jesus in the Bible at John 11:24 "I know he (I) will rise in the resurrection..." We look forward to that reunion. What a joyful day that will be! BROWN, PERFECTITA "TITA" Tita C. Brown was called home to be with Our Lord and Savior on March 15, 2014. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Tita was a wonderful mother who made our lives easier with her smile and great sense of humor. Her light will continue to shine through her loving daughters, Linda Trujillo and Barbara Brown; her grandchildren, Adam Trujillo, Feliz Trujillo and David Trujillo Jr. and great grandson Antonio Trujillo. CHIMENTI, JOSINA BACA was born in Catron County, New Mexico to Filemon and Margaret Romero Baca on January 23, 1916. Our mother passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2014. Josina was the youngest of three children, her siblings, Arthur Baca and Del Miera, preceded her. Josina married Joseph Chimenti in 1939 in Albuquerque, NM. Our father passed away in December of 1985. Josina and her sister, Del, completed their educations at the Loretto Academy in Santa Fe, mother always remembering that her "job" was dusting and cleaning the chapel and miraculous staircase in the Loretto Chapel. Josina was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great friend! She was an indomitable spirit filled with the joy of life. She had a quick wit and terrific sense of humor that served her until the last. She read widely and never tired of staying current with the events in Albuquerque, in New Mexico, and the Vatican. She is survived by a family who loved her deeply; her sons, Bart and wife, Donna Chimenti and Bob and wife, Kate Chimenti; daughter, Angie Adams; her grandchildren, Damian and wife, Charlotte Chimenti, Marchello and wife, Kate Chimenti, Claire and husband, Jon Tran, Megan and husband, Kevin O'Connor, Mark and wife, Pam Adams, Trent and wife, Stephanie Adams; and her 11 great- grandchildren. She so treasured each and every one. Sandia Auto Electric and Lomas Warehouse, cofounded by our father, was always a huge part of our mother's life. She was supportive and enthusiastic of this important part of all our lives. Josina and Joe helped establish Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and watched it grow from a WWII barracks. They also helped establish St. Pius X High School and became a major contributor to the building fund. She had an ongoing commitment to education and established and endowed scholarships at St. Pius, Fatima, and UNM, as well as support for the National Hispanic Cultural Center. She was a docent leading walking tours of Old Town for the Albuquerque Museum and a formidable bridge player. She grew the most incredible roses that were appreciated by her family, the neighbors, and all who passed by. Mother taught us to live life fully and joyfully. She will be so, so missed. Josina's family is eternally grateful to Jill Kittredge and her staff at The Copper Rose, Gentiva Hospice, and Mother's loyal friends for their loving and attentive care for our mother. CRESPIN, ALICE Age 84 of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 17, 2014. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and her grandson, Lorenzo. DONART, JAMES R. "JIM" Age 71, of Albuquerque, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 16, 2014. Jim was born in Lima, OH to Wilfred and Doris Donart. He was a graduate of Bowling Green State University. Jim entered the US Air Force, where he honorably served for 21 years. After retirement, he taught science for more than 20 years in the Rio Rancho Public Schools. Jim was a long-time member of Sagebrush Community Church where he served in multiple ministries. His greatest joys in life were God and family. He is survived by Marilyn, his beloved wife of 46 years; children, Genny Donart, Elizabeth Garciasalas and husband, Freddy, and Nathan Donart; grandchildren, Anna and husband, Jaime, Alex, Alyssa, Sydney, Riley and Megan; siblings, Mike and wife, Barb, Rose and Don and wife, Anne. GALLEGOS, CLARABEL J. Clarabel was born September 23, 1922, and died peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the age of 91. She was the beloved wife of Tony Gallegos, Jr., to whom she was married for almost 64 years until his death in 2008. She was the loving mother of two, Kathy and Norman Gallegos, who both reside in Albuquerque. Clarabel was preceded in death by her father, Ramon Gutierrez and mother, Beatrice Gutierrez, both of Albuquerque; and by her youngest brother, Ulysses "Buddy" Gutierrez. She is survived by her brother, Ramond "Monchie" Gutierrez; sister, Ella Chaves; and brother and sister-in-law, Eliu and Helen Vigil, all of Albuquerque; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. The loves of the latter years of her life were three grandchildren, Julian and Adan Gallegos of San Antonio, TX and Mario Gallegos of Rio Rancho; and three great-grandchildren, Makalya, King, and Maximus "Max" Gallegos, all of San Antonio, TX. Clarabel was a Student Activities Director at UNM. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her purpose in life was to make a safe, comfortable, and loving home for her loved ones; this she did, and for this we are all grateful. May she rest in peace now that her life's work is complete. GARCIA, BARBARA H. 8/28/42 - 3/13/14 Barbara H. Garcia "Redds", beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 13, 2014. She left us to be with her mother who passed away when Barbara was an infant. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Joe Frank Garcia; daughter and son-in-law Viola and Pierre Gonzales; son and daughter-in-law Chris and Denise Garcia; her grandchildren Noelle, Reece, Krysta, Jacob, Amanda, George, Kendall, Briana; and great-grandchildren Bellalia, Adam, Johnny, Roxy and Sonny. GARCIA, MATIAS "PETE" Age 67, beloved husband, father, son, and brother, was embraced by the Lord and taken to Eternal Rest, Thursday, March 13, 2014. He was a lifelong resident of Bernalillo, NM, where he was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. Pete was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Crops, who served his country during the Vietnam war, and was a member of the American Legion Post #69 in Alameda. GARCIA, FRANCES H. Age 95, born in Bernalillo, NM on July 3, 1918. Passed away peacefully at her home, Sunday, March 16, 2014. Frances was a descendent from early Spanish settlers. She was born in an old adobe home which stood in what is now the parking lot of the Range Cafe in Bernalillo, NM. She was raised in Bernalillo, NM and married her husband Conrado moved to California and raised their four children there. Frances and Conrado moved back to Bernalillo after retiring. They loved to travel throughout their lives together, they traveled to many states in the United State and then went on to travel in Europe many times. After Conrado passed away she continued her travels with her daughter Evelyn. Frances attended Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Bernalillo, the same Church where she had all of her sacraments; Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, Marriage, 50th Wedding renewal, and now her Funeral Mass. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Luciano and Carmelita Hernandez; her husband of 58 years, Conrado Garcia, Jr.; and daughter, Evelyn Anderson; brother, Hank Hernandez; sisters, Delmira Simms and Gloria Lundberg. Frances is survived by her children, Louie and Shannon Garcia, Sydney and Pat Garcia, Patricia and Raymond Chasseur; her grandchildren, Kerry Garcia, Erin and Mark Lau, Zackray and Dan Leschiner, Irish Ryan; her great-grandchildren, Conrado Washington, Rex Lau, Allyn Leschiner, Jacob Ryan, Dionna Lyons, and Cleveland Mitchelle. GORMAN, RICHARD R. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. 2 Timothy 4:7 Cherished husband, beloved son, father, brother, uncle and friend, Richard R. Gorman passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2014, following a courageous and valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Richard was 60 year old. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Santa Fe to Robert and Virginia Gorman, Richard lived his entire life in Santa Fe, a place he truly loved. Although Richard enjoyed traveling to many different places, he always said he would never leave Santa Fe. Richard had an infectious smile and hearty laugh. His love of the outdoors was evident in the activities he enjoyed including hiking, biking, fishing, backpacking, and skiing. Richard's dream as a child was to build a true log cabin. Following a backpacking trip with his wife Shea and son Ryan, they found the perfect location for his dream cabin on the Pecos River. After designing and building his cabin, this quickly became Richard's sanctuary. He and Shea and their families spent many wonderful weekends at the cabin. Richard attended the University of New Mexico where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture. His career began straight out of college at Kraus Engineering. He quickly learned and provided structural engineering design for various types of buildings. Two of these projects were the Indian Health Services Facility on Cerrillos Road and the Manuel Lujan State Office Building on St. Francis Drive. He later worked with Bernabe Romero as an apprentice architect. He was the chief building inspector for the City of Santa Fe and the County Land Use Administrator for Santa Fe County. After leaving the County, Richard was a well-known private land use planner with a reputation for getting things done. He was also a licensed contractor and built many beautiful homes in Santa Fe along with his brothers. Richard served on the Santa Fe School Board for four years. In 1993-1994 he served as its President. Richard ended his career as the Project Manager for the New Mexico School for the Deaf. In this position Richard strived to make a difference for the NMSD community. He was recently recognized with a permanent plaque at NMSD for his contributions to the redevelopment of the campus. Richard was very involved with his parish, the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. He was instrumental in the design and construction of many improvements including the exterior statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Guadalupe Street and the El Cerro de Tepeyac Memorial on the east end of the church parking lot. Richard is preceded in death by his father Robert D. Gorman, Sr., his paternal grandparents Richard and Magdalena Gorman, his maternal grandfather Leandro Montoya and his maternal grandmother Lillie Miera. He is also preceded in death by his special uncle and godfather, Joseph J. Gorman. He is survived by his adoring wife, Shea Gorman; loving mother, Virginia Gorman; and children Felecia, Chris and Ryan. He also leaves behind his siblings, Robert Gorman, Jr. (Cathy), Peggy Martinez (Larry), Gina Arsenault (Jon), James Gorman (Paula), and Don Gorman (Suzanne). Many other relatives, including his uncle, Ernesto Montoya (Molly), and nieces, nephews and cousins survive him, along with many friends. Shea's family had a very special place in their hearts for Richard and cherished his being a part of their family. A Rosary will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church at 7:00 p.m. on March 19, 2014. The Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on March 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., followed by interment at Rosario Cemetery. HARPER, DELILA "LILA" 1928 - 2014 DeLila "Lila" Harper, age 85, a resident of Bosque Farms, NM, passed away on Sunday, March 16. She was born to Charles Wilmer and Stella Mae Finley, on July 14, 1928 in Pilgrim, MO. She was the youngest of 10 children. Lila, along with her husband, Adrian, pastored numerous churches in New Mexico and founded Hosanna Assembly of God in 1987. They traveled into Mexico as Missionary Evangelists and held revivals in many states in the US. Lila was preceded in death by her parents; all nine of her siblings; her husband, Adrian; daughter, Norma Moss; son, Joe Salazar; and granddaughter, Carolyn Ann Moss. She is survived by her children, Rudy and Donna, Johnny and Ruthann, Steve and Paula, Lynn and Jim, and Darlene and Karey; grandchildren, JD Moss, Scott Moss, Cheryl Nelson, Barbara Clower, Phillip Nelson, Bill Moss, Bo Harper, Bryan Harper, Derek Harper, Nikolas Harper, Christopher Harvey, Donovin Harvey, Joshua Harvey and their spouses; and 14 great grandchildren and her caregiver, Sherri Navarro. JACKSON, KEVIN SEAN MACDERMOTT Kevin S. MacDermott Jackson, 60, passed away March 12, 2014 after a 19 month battle with cancer (glioblastoma). He was born September 4, 1953 in Albuquerque, NM. In 1965 he moved with his family to Ft. Worth, TX. After graduation from UT Arlington with a BA in Russian and French, he worked in the construction field, becoming a skilled craftsman. After returning to Albuquerque in 2007, he worked with Armstrong Group, Inc. He was preceded in death by his father WBM Jackson. He is survived by his sons Joseph, Samuel and Nathan; step-daughter Karisa Murphy; former wife Melissa Jackson; mother Maxine L. Jackson; sisters, Peta (Bob) Caldwell and Kim (Russ) Hille; and Uncle Wm. V. Kastler; as well as his cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends who loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at La Vida Llena on Friday, March 21 at 10:00am.

JARAMILLO, ALEX Age 88 of Albuquerque went home to be with the Lord on Sunday March 16, 2014. He is survived by his son Daniel Jaramillo and wife Jeanette; daughter Erlinda Mier and husband Richard; brother Eroy Jaramillo; three granddaughters, Denise Barajas and husband Paul, Anna Paiz and husband Anthony, Leticia Melendez and husband Isaac; six great-grandsons, Phillip and Ryan Barajas, Joshua and Gabriel Paiz, Isaac Jr. and Emilio Melendez; life partner Mary Jojola; and many family and friends, who love him. ROBIN, BENJAMIN R. age 92, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014. SEDILLO, JERRY MICHAEL age 46, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, North Valley neighborhood, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 16, 2014. He was a strong believer in the Dallas Cowboys and always had faith that they would do great, no matter of how many losses. SNEAD, RODMAN ELDRIDGE PHD 
Rodman Eldridge Snead, PhD, 83, died March 12 after a long illness at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born May 1, 1931 in Atlantic City, NJ, to the late Eldridge Hatcher Snead and Mabelle Davis Clark, Rod lived on Hemsley Place in Northfield, NJ until he graduated from Friends School in Atlantic City, NJ. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Davis Snead Moore of Beaufort, NC. He is survived by his niece Mary Moore Briggs of Bluffton, SC and his nephew Charles E. Moore, Jr. of Davidsonville, MD. Rod and his family were members of Central United Methodist Church in Linwood, NJ until moving out of the area. Rod received an undergraduate degree in geography and geology from the University of Virginia, a Master's degree in geography from Syracuse University and a PhD in geography from the Coastal Studies Institute at Louisiana State University. He taught at the Graduate School of Geography, Clark University, Worcester, Mass from 1961-1969. In 1969 he joined the faculty of the University of New Mexico where he served as professor and Chair of The Geography Department until his retirement. His major fields of research and teaching included physical geography (geomorphology), climatology, aerial photography interpretation and remote sensing techniques. His primary interest was in coastal desert landforms, especially the coasts of Iran and Pakistan. He traveled to over ninety countries over a period of fifty years and authored numerous books and articles including The World Atlas of Geomorphic Features, and The Atlas of World Physical Features. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield, NJ followed by interment at Atlantic City Cemetery in Pleasantville, NJ. STERN, ADAM Adam Stern, beloved husband, father, uncle, son, brother, son-in-law and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on March 14th at home with his loving family by his side. Adam was 55 years old. He was born on June 24, 1958 to Charles and Sonia Stern in Flushing, NY. Adam spent his childhood years surrounded by the bustle of his dad's home photography studio, Russian literature so important to his grandparents, his mom's vibrant artwork on the walls, his precious dogs, Beau and Cuddles and dear childhood friends who remained vital throughout his lifetime. Adam attended high school at the Windsor School in Flushing, New York where he was the photo editor for his high school's literary magazine and acted in high school stage productions. Adam earned his BA degree in The Writing Seminars from Johns Hopkins University and an MA in Broadcast Communications from Boston University. He followed with a second Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology from Antioch University, New England Graduate School. Adam combined his education, wisdom and kind gentle manner to serve others as a counselor. Adam began his career working at Strafford Guidance Center in Dover, New Hampshire, followed by Corporate Health Resources in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1999, Adam became a founding partner and chief clinical and operating officer of The Solutions Group, a New Mexico based company offering Employee Assistance and Wellness Programs for over 14 years. Adam was highly respected statewide and in the Albuquerque community for his expertise as an EAP counselor and substance abuse professional, including his service on the DWI Planning Council and the Care Fund Committee at Presbyterian Hospital. Adam and his wife, Denise Harmon, were married in 1990 in New Hampshire. Here they began their careers and the summer tradition of boating and playing with family and friends on the beaches of Maine and New Hampshire. In 1994, after extensive worldwide travels, they moved to Albuquerque inspired by New Mexico's diversity and wilderness. They shared a love of adventure, film, music and laughter, creating a nourishing, loving home with their two cherished sons. Adam was a devoted father whose passion for intellect inspired in his children a love of reading and critical thinking about the world. Adam deeply appreciated his sons' musical talents, relentless teasing about the New York Yankees, athletic abilities and generous hearts. Adam was a kind man who brought to all his relationships wit, respect, compassion, astute intelligence and a good dose of humor. He committed to memory almost every poem he ever read, songs he loved to sing and multiple Russian expressions. Adam treasured his family dogs, Lucie, and Emma and cats, Mija and Luna. Fencing, tireless reading, practicing his guitar, listening to jazz, watching the Celtics, Patriots, Yankees and especially Lobos basketball were all integral facets of his life. Adam was preceded in death by his mother and father and is survived by his wife Denise, and their two sons, Noah (17) and Benjamin (14). TORDSEN, BEVERLY JOYCE "Bev", was born December 13, 1939 in Fillmore, Oklahoma. She passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 in Edgewood, NM. Bev worked in the Bookkeeping Department for the New Mexico Beverage Company and continued her employment with them after they were bought out by Maloof Beverage Company, retiring at the age of 70. She loved to hear and tell jokes and enjoyed traveling to Thailand, California and different places in the United States. The holidays were Bev's favorite time because she loved having her family all in one place. Her family and friends will miss her greatly. VARELA, SARAH A. Sarah Varela passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Placida Archibeque; husband, Pat Varela; infant daughter, Carmen Varela; and brother, Nino Archibeque. She is survived by her daughter, Vangie Jett and husband, James (Pete); sons, Pat Varela, Jr. and wife, Terri, and Danny Varela and wife, Gloria; her grandchildren, Stephen (Maureen) Jett, Kathleen (David) Griego, Camille (Greg) Warden, Jennifer (Brad) Rosenberg, Andrew Varela, Bryan (Beth) Varela, and Danielle (Jeramie) McCullough; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marcella Archibeque; her nieces and nephews; and other family members, including Angie Wagner and Nancy Gallegos. Sarah was a member of Immaculate Conception parish for many years and faithfully prayed her rosaries daily. While her husband, Pat, was a prisoner of war, who survived the Bataan Death March, Sarah faithfully kept scrapbooks detailing the period of time Pat was gone. VILLANUEVA, DOLORES "DODI" Age 80, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord Jesus Saturday, March 15, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Philip; children, Michelle Torrez, Melissa Roveto, Martin Villanueva, and Matthew Villanueva and wife, Lolli, all of Albuquerque; seven grandchildren, Br. She was born in 1934 in Albuquerque and graduated from St. Mary's High School, class of 1952. After graduation, Dolores worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator for ten years before devoting her life to raising her family. She married Philip Villanueva in 1956. Dolores devoted her life to the Blessed Mother Mary and was a long-time member of Risen Savior Catholic Community. She was very committed to her family and had a special place in every heart she touched. Dolores was a beautiful wife, committed mother, loving grandmother and great- grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. WEGENER, THOMASITA "T.J." T.J. passed away on March 10, 2014. After a long struggle, she succumbed to her debilitating condition. Almost reaching the youthful age of 75, she was born on May 11, 1939. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Wegener, father Gilbert O. Aragon, mother Ruby S. Aragon and brothers Doug and Daniel Aragon. She is survived by her loving son Marc Wegener; Aragon brothers, John (Sandra), Ron (fiancee Martha), Phil (Evelyn), and Tim (Yvonne); sister Marlinda Brown (The Honorable Charles W. Brown); daughters Cindy Houghton and Carla Brooks; two granddaughters Jenna Chivaro and Kaylie Brooks; and a multitude of extended family members. T.J. was an exuberant, social person making friends and influencing others wherever she went. With her strong belief in God and sense of community, she took great pride and joy in helping others better themselves out of difficult situations in life. A Licensed Barber for over 35 years, due to her love and desire to travel, she made a massive life change in her 50's to join her husband in starting BJ&TJ Trucking Inc. as an over- the-road truck driver to be able to "see the country". She retired from this in 2004, after a 17 year career getting paid to travel and see the country. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. WILLIAMS, MARY LOURDES Mary Williams was born February 11, 1929 in Dawson, New Mexico to her mother Delphina and Edward Zaragoza. She departed this life on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Mary graduated from Dawson High School where she was a majorette and had perfect attendance thru her high school years later worked for The Department of Health in Gallup, New Mexico and also worked as a telephone operator. She was an expert in horsemanship and owned and breed winning race horses, she was a member of the New Mexico horsemen's association. She loved her one and only husband very much and never married after widowed. Her passion was finding antiques and collecting the things she found beauty in. In her spare time she helped her husband run his refrigeration business and spent most her time raising her children and being there for them. Mary always supported her children in everything they wanted and wished for. She was a strong and witty woman who was ever unfailing to express herself in matters she felt needed attention. She is preceded in death by her husband Leonard Donald Williams, her mother and father, her grandson Steven Gonzales, her sister Paula Smith, Rose Zaragoza and brother Carlos Zaragoza. Mary cared for those who are still here with us today and would want the best for them, including her daughter Louise; her sons Larry and wife Dehnae, Leonard & wife Yaqin, and John; her grandson Anthony Bourguet who she raised, and his wife Tanya; grandchildren Leonard Jude, Laurel Megan and Larry Jr. Williams; and great-grandchildren AJ, Bobbie Rae, Alexandra Bourguet and Yessenia Gonzales; brothers Tony and Edwardo Zaragoza. WILSON, MARY FRANCES MEEKER (1913 - 2014) Mary Meeker Wilson was born on Christmas Day, 1913, at home, upstairs, in American Fork, Utah. Mary's father John Scudder Meeker was a Presbyterian National Missions minister who with his wife Georgia Poage Meeker and four children served churches in Utah, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Illinois, Colorado and Kansas. Mary graduated from high school in Emporia, Kansas and attended the College of Emporia along with Chase Altman Wilson whom she married in 1938 in Del Norte, Colorado on the front porch of her parents' home. Mary graduated from The Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma and then studied art education at Emporia State Teachers College and enjoyed a short career teaching in the early grades. In 1953, Chase and Mary moved with their only child, Quentin Chase Wilson, to the South Valley of Albuquerque. Mary was active in the First Presbyterian Church, notably sponsoring the high school fellowship group for several years along with Chase. Mary was active in the Parent Teachers Associations at Five Points School, Ernie Pyle Junior High and Rio Grande High School serving as president at each level. In 1961 Mary ran for and was elected to the Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education. In 1965, she was elected to the New Mexico State Board of Education and was proud to be involved in the 1968 effort to authorize what is now San Juan College. In 1970, Mary and Chase moved to Colorado for fourteen years and then returned to New Mexico, living in Espanola for ten years to provide an extra household for their grandchildren who commuted to McCurdy Schools from Ojo Caliente. Mary loved drawing, oil painting, watercolors, sewing and storytelling and was very good at everything she did. She and Chase loved to travel and made memorable trips to Europe, South America, Hawaii, Alaska and Australia. Mary and Chase moved into El Castillo Retirement Residences, Santa Fe, in 1992 where she spent twenty-one years of her life. Chase died July 27, 2009 and Mary lived on to celebrate her 100th birthday on Christmas Day, 2013. She died March 10, 2014, the 100th anniversary of her husband's birth. She is survived by her son Quentin Wilson and his wife Maria Vergara Wilson; her grandchildren Damian, Andrea and Martin; and great-grandchildren Natalie, Alejandra, Eva and Jakob.
