POUND -- Louise Catherine Pound (nee Kelly), August 24, 2009, in Albuquerque, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Bill Pound, much loved mother of John, Teresa, and Daniel; sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Pound, son-in-law Steve Zook, and Toby Jerome; grandchildren Meghan Pound-Allen and her husband, Michael, Emily Zook, Matt Pound and wife, Leanne, Kelly Pound and Ryan Espinoza, great grandchildren Adrian Trujillo-Pound and Cyrena Allen, sister, Evelyn Head, and brother, Hank Kelly. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Cristo Rey Church in Santa Fe at 9:30a.m. this Thursday, August 27, 2009, with burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Donations, if desired, to Catholic Charities. Our mother was a very special woman. When her beloved husband died at the age of 49, she accepted God's will and devoted herself to her family and community, serving as a teacher aide in the Santa Fe school system for many years. At the age of 88, her biggest thrill, besides welcoming two great-grandchildren, was to see Barack Obama in person and to witness his election. Most important, she instilled the gift of faith in her children and grandchildren, a deep and unshakeable faith that is being passed on to her great-grandchildren. As the end approached, she said "death is a part of life" and reminded us that our separation will be temporary. Our wish is that everyone would have a mother such as ours. buiochas le Dia The Rivera Family of Santa Fe Funeral Options 417 East Rodeo Road Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505 (505) 989-7032 Santafefuneraloption.com

Jeffrey, even during long periods of great personal challenge, never waivered in his pursuit of his life-long goal to become a trauma surgeon. While just a high school sophomore, Jeffrey was given an opportunity to observe Albuquerque University Hospital's world-class trauma surgeons and their teams in surgery, and they generously invited him to provide assistance where possible. From that time on, even under the most improbable circumstances, Jeffrey maintained absolute faith in his ability one day to join the ranks of those who are called upon to save lives in the most difficult of circumstances. Jeffrey is survived, and will forever be missed by, his loving family, including his parents, brother Casey Michael Stone and his wife Jennifer and their three children, sister Kelly Anne Gunn and her husband Jimmy and their four children, sister Katie Lynn Medina and her husband Adrian, grandparents J. Robert Shaw and Dolly M. Shaw, and H. Wayne Wile and Carol R. Wile, by aunts and uncles Lynn and Michael Shaw, LeeAnn and Rolf Riesen, Susan and Robert Conklin, Danette and John Wile, Nancy and David Baucom, and Stacy Wile and Mark Davis, and by numerous cousins and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John, 318 Silver Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102, with the Rev. Canon Terence Lee officiating. The family will be receiving guests to celebrate Jeffrey's life immediately following, at the home of Sharon Shaw. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in honor of Jeffrey to Doctors Without Borders. Donations may be made at www.doctorswithoutborders.com.
