Joe Griego, born March 19, 1930, in Albuquerque, NM passed away Monday, August 24, 2009. He served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He owned and operated Griego Roofing Company for many years. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Max and Tomasita; and one brother, Gregorio Hernandez. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marima Mary Griego; two sons, Leroy Griego and wife, Rose, and Joe Griego; six grandchildren, Greg, Katherine, Renee, Abran, Barbara, and Sauntino; 13 great-grandchildren; several sisters and one brother; and other family and friends who loved him and will miss him. Services will be held at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. with US Army Honors. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Greg, Abran, Sauntino, Daniel, Jason, and Mert. Honorary pallbearers will be Katherine, Renee, and Barbara.
