Mary P. Garcia, born in Watrous, NM on March 3, 1926 and a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away at the age of 83 on Friday, August 21, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Garcia I; mother, Anita Valdez; Catalina Bustamonte, by whom she was raised; son-in-law, Raymond Sanchez; and grandson, George Garcia II. She is survived by three sons, Joe T. Garcia II, George Garcia, and Lawrence Garcia; four daughters, Dolores Tunnell, Estella Sanchez, Linda Contreras, and Cathy Simmons; and her sister, Paula Zamora; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mary enjoyed crafting, travelling, and cooking. She loved each moment with all her kids, grandkids, other relatives, and friends. Mom had a big heart and touched all who met her. Services will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 1594 Sara Rd, SE, Rio Rancho, NM on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m..
