Obituary for DUSSAIR

MARGARET DUSSAIR, 98, passed away August 23, 2009 at the Clarewood House in Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent S. Dussair. Margaret was born July 23, 1911 in Peru, Kansas. Her family moved to Caney, Kansas when she was 16 and there she finished high school in 1929. She attended Pittsburg Teachers college in Pittsburg, Kansas and taught school for six years in Wayside, Kansas and later in her home town of Caney. In 1937 she married Vincent S. Dussair, a high school music teacher. After several moves, they settled in Albuquerque in 1958. From a teen-ager, Margaret was actively involved in the Methodist Church. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a past president of the United Methodist Women of Trinity. Her favorite recreation was square dancing and she and her husband participated in dancing for over 40 years. They were members of the Desert Swingers Square Dance club for 24 years. Margaret is survived by her son, Kent Dussair and his wife, Linda; and by her daughter, Diane and her husband, Dan Cunningham. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Clarewood House Chapel, 7400 Clarewood Drive, Houston, 77036 on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarewood House Employees Fund.
