ABEYTA -- Marie J. Abeyta, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1936, passed away gently into God's loving arms on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at St. John's Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Abeyta was born on June 27, 1916 to Enrique and Maria San Juan of Belen, NM. She was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing at the North 4th Street Senior Center. Mrs. Abeyta and her husband, Max, enjoyed traveling to Laughlin and Las Vegas, NV and she continued this enjoyment at the local casinos. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Abeyta, her son-in-law, Jack Cook, and her grandson, Michael Cook. She is survived by her children, Dolores Cook and Helen Rizek, both of Albuquerque, and Henry Abeyta and his wife, Azucena, of San Antonio, TX; her six grandchildren, Deborah Raver and husband, Ken, Randel Rizek and wife, Bernadette, Lynnette Rizek-Hanna and husband, Don, Michelle Rizek, Patricia Abeyta and Ricardo Abeyta; her seven great-grandchildren, Adam Otero, Jared Otero, Shey Mertz, Conner Mae Mertz, Komal Hanna, Sydney Elizabeth Abeyta, and Ricardo Abeyta; her siblings, Ida Vallejos, Ninfa Sanchez, Cande Jaramillo, Herman Sanchez, Eloy Sanchez, and Albert Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. ABRAMS -- George E. Abrams, 72, passed away December 1, 2007. He was born February 27, 1935 in Staten Island, NY. George's lifelong passion is baseball, being a diehard New York Mets fan. He also loved gardening and was a Korean Conflict Era Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years, Frances; three children, Deborah Abrams-Burroughs and husband, Edward of Albuquerque, NM, George Abrams and wife, Margaret of New Jersey, and Kimberly Abrams and her life partner, Roxanne Remo of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren, Travis, Tiffany, Jackie, Shaina, Amanda, Matthew, and Angel; brother, Frank Abrams; sister, Ethel Young; many loving nephews and nieces, and his beloved and devoted dog, Peanut Buttercup Abrams. Chavez in 1978; his mother, Felesita B. Chavez in 1990; his brothers, Tommy B. Chavez in 2005 and Philimon B. Chavez in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carmen Z. CILUZZI -- Joseph S. Ciluzzi, 78, born on June 7, 1929, in New York City. Joseph's parents were Salvatore and Marie Ciluzzi. Joseph moved to Belmar, NJ and in 1977 moved to Albuquerque to be near his uncle, Lt. Col. Al Abbott (USA Ret). Joseph lived at Good Shepard Manor and in 1995 moved into an ARCA home. He will be buried with his parents at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Services will be held on Friday December 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at the Cemetery, and will be conducted by Brother Gerard Sullivan, of the Brothers of The Good Shepard, who knew Joseph for many years. CRUZ -- Dennis Victor Charles Cruz passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Albuquerque at the age of 21. Dennis will be remembered for being an all around great person. He always put his family first and was always there when you needed him. He had a great sense of humor and could always make you laugh. Dennis will be loved always and greatly missed. DIGREGORY -- Jean Ocelean Shinn DiGregory, 80, passed away peacefully at home in Bernalillo, NM after a courageous fight against breast cancer. She is survived by her dear brother, Joe W. Shinn; four devoted sons, Vincent, Cristin, Matthew and Jon; and seven beautiful grandchildren. Jean touched countless lives with her humor, honesty, compassion and generosity. FARRELL -- Ellen Risser Farrell, age 79, died at the Los Alamos Medical Center November 30, 2007. She was born at Lima, Ohio on July 13, 1928, the daughter of Louis D. Risser Sr. and Elisabeth Hodge Risser. She is survived by husband, Paul R. Farrell; daughter, Nora A. Farrell and husband, Reinhard Brinkman of Hamburg, Germany; daughter, Megan E. Farrell; and son, Devin D. Farrell both of Los Alamos; brothers, Louis D. Risser, Jr. and wife, Margaret and Charles Risser and wife, Eleanor, all of Pandora, OH; several nieces, a nephew and numerous cousins. She was a 1946 graduate of Pandora, Ohio High School, and in 1950 received a B.A. Degree from Ohio State University School of Social Work. Following her graduation she was employed as a Staff Member of the Girl Scouts of America. She was married in 1960. After several moves, her husband was assigned as FBI Resident Agent at Los Alamos, NM from 1968 to 1974. Following her husband's retirement from the FBI at San Diego, the family returned to Los Alamos in 1979. Mrs. Farrell was a direct descendant of Benjamin Franklin and was active in many patriotic and genealogical organizations. She served as New Mexico State Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as Valle Grande Chapter Regent. She served as President of the Los Alamos Genealogy Society and taught genealogy classes in Los Alamos for many years. She was the author of two genealogy books and was a contributor to genealogy journals. She was one of the founders of the Casa Mesita home for girls in Los Alamos and was the first Chairman of the Board of Directors. She was also active in the United Church and served as a Chairman of the Board of Elders. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 6, 2007, 2 to 7 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Chapel. The Funeral Service will be held at the United Church in Los Alamos, 2525 Canyon Road on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. A private family interment is planned the following week at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. KOMONICK -- William "Bill" Komonick, born 1921 in Brooklyn, NY, beloved son of Catherine Slawski Komonick and Martin Komonick, passed away on November 30, 2007. A resident of Albuquerque since 1970, he was in the Painters and Allied Workers Union Local #823 until his retirement at the age of 70. The love of his life was his wife, Ksenia (Jennie), who he was married to for 67 years. LUCERO -- Pilar J. Lucero, 58, was born August 12, 1949 in Ft. Sumner, New Mexico. He passed away Friday, November 30, 2007. He was preceded in death by his father, Pilar Lucero Sr.; mother, Maggie Lucero; brother, David Lopez and son, Alex M. Lucero. Pilar is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Jane Lucero; sons, Pilar Lucero Jr. and wife Marie, Andrew Lucero and wife Shannon, David Lopez "BoBo", Ronnie Lucero and fiance, Nita; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Tana Sena, Esperanza Barela, Lorina Lovato and Isabel Lucero-Abeyta; brothers, Pete Lucero and Freddie Lucero; nieces; nephews; other family and friends who loved and will miss him. MIERA -- Sally G. Miera, also known by many as Mama Sally, went to the Lord on December 1, 2007 after a long battle with Parkinson and Dementia. She was born June 6, 1928 in San Mateo, NM where she was also raised. She worked for many years as a banquet waitress for the Hilton, Doubletree and several other hotels. Her parents, Telesfor and Demetria Gonzales; brother, Florenio Gonzales, sister Lucy Martinez and brother-in-law Simplicio and ex husband Candido Miera preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Janie Gurule and husband Joe, Diana Martinez and husband Anthony, Danny Miera and companion Renee, Larry Miera and wife Karla and Lorie Miera; grandchildren Anthony Gurule and wife Rosamaria their children Joseph, Elena and Gabriella, Gerald Gurule, Ruben Gurule and girlfriend Crystal, Melanie Estrada and boyfriend Adam her daughters Zena and Aiesha, Frankie Estrada and companion Patricia their children Raymos, Natasha and Marisol, Shawnasi Martinez, Monyce and boyfriend Brian, Shevon and Andres Miera, Lorenzo Miera and girlfriend Nicki, and Jessyka Miera, Christopher and Jonathan Chavez and Savannah Lackey. STANSBERY -- Kirk D. Stansbery, 57, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1983, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2007. Kirk was born November 17, 1950 in North Platte, NE. He had been a carpenter in the commercial construction business. Kirk loved music and often performed with various family musical groups as lead vocalist, and guitarist. STRONGIN -- Elaine C. Strongin, age 73 of Albuquerque, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born February 15, 1934 in Columbus, NE to Charles and Margaret Louis. Mrs. Strongin is survived by her children, Barbara S. Kraft, Tim S. Strongin and his wife, Barbara all of Albuquerque, Terry W. Strongin and his wife, Kathy of Wellington, FL, Paul Lloyd Strongin and his wife, Kathryn of Castaic, CA; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters, Judy L. TURPEN -- Armond R. Mr. Armond R. Turpen, 73, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on November 29, 2007. Mr. Turpen is survived by his cousins, Laura G. Cruz and husband Miguel from Norwalk, CA and Henry C. Gonzalez and wife, Theresa of South Gate, CA; and his special friend and companion, Marie Baca from Isleta, NM; his grandchildren, Mark Baca and Veronica Piro from Isleta, NM and many friends who knew him at the V.F.W. Post 6216. Mr. Turpen was a member of the Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict and was also a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. A visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. A Communion Service will follow the Rosary at 9:00 a.m., Deacon Santos Abeyta, presider. WHEELER -- Lucille Edith Wheeler, 82, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 25 years, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2007. Lucille was born December 31, 1924 the daughter of Vincent A. and Lucy Mae Francis Burres in Suffern, NY. She was raised in Stony Point, NY, and a graduate of New York University School of Nursing. She served as an Army nurse during World War II where she was stationed in Kansas. Lucille retired from nursing in 1982. She was a co-founder of the Meadowlark Senior Center, where she continued as a volunteer until the time of her death. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was loved by all who knew her. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Albert V. Wheeler and one daughter, Claire Levitt. She is survived by one son, Vincent Wheeler of Nyack, NY; one granddaughter, Lisa Velarde of Rio Rancho, NM; three great-grandchildren, Adam Martin, Shanon Velarde, and Amanda Velarde; and son-in-law, Donald Levitt of Rio Rancho, NM. WILLIAMSON -- Glen Ray Williamson, 65, of Hobbs, NM passed away on November 29, 2007 in Lubbock, TX. He was born on June 27, 1942 in Iraan, TX to Charles Ersel and Dorotha "Dee" (Kirkland) Williamson. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Adams officiating. Judge Jack Bailey and Ron Newcomb will assist. Services have been entrusted to Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs. Glen moved to Hobbs from Santa Fe in 1994. He was an attorney for the Public Defender's office. He graduated from Andrews High School. He graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX with a law degree. He was a District Attorney in Kermit, TX. He had a private law practice in Andrews, TX and Santa Fe, NM. Glen loved to play golf, cook and practice law. He was of Baptist faith. Glen is survived by his spouse of the home, Margaret Armijo and her two children: Paul and his wife, Carla and Mickey and wife, Robbie; two sons: Kennon Williamson and wife, Shannan and Corey Williamson and wife, Necole, all of Odessa, TX; one brother: Dale Williamson and wife, Jann of Flowermound, TX; one sister: Yvonne Hightower and husband, Bobbe of Grandbury, TX; a step-brother: Lanar Burns; a special aunt: Lois Couch of Seymour, TX; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Honorary pallbearers are the law enforcement community of Lea County, the 5th Judicial District Judges, colleagues and friends.
