Marie J. Abeyta, 91, a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1936, passed away gently into God's loving arms on Saturday, December 1, 2007 at St. John's Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Abeyta was born on June 27, 1916 to Enrique and Maria San Juan of Belen, NM. She was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing at the North 4th Street Senior Center. Mrs. Abeyta and her husband, Max, enjoyed traveling to Laughlin and Las Vegas, NV and she continued this enjoyment at the local casinos. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max A. Abeyta, her son-in-law, Jack Cook, and her grandson, Michael Cook. She is survived by her children, Dolores Cook and Helen Rizek, both of Albuquerque, and Henry Abeyta and his wife, Azucena, of San Antonio, TX; her six grandchildren, Deborah Raver and husband, Ken, Randel Rizek and wife, Bernadette, Lynnette Rizek-Hanna and husband, Don, Michelle Rizek, Patricia Abeyta and Ricardo Abeyta; her seven great-grandchildren, Adam Otero, Jared Otero, Shey Mertz, Conner Mae Mertz, Komal Hanna, Sydney Elizabeth Abeyta, and Ricardo Abeyta; her siblings, Ida Vallejos, Ninfa Sanchez, Cande Jaramillo, Herman Sanchez, Eloy Sanchez, and Albert Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary and Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. at Daniels Family Funeral Services Palm Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Mr. and Mrs. Abeyta's cremated remains will be laid to rest at Fairview Memorial Park at a later date.
