CHAVEZ -- Alfred "Fecho" Alfonso Chavez, 86, passed away on Monday, August 16, 2004. He is survived by his granddaughter, Alexandria Ferguson and husband, Ben of San Diego, CA; grandsons, Robert Herrera of Albuquerque and Vincent Herrera and wife, Rosemary of Albuquerque, who aided Mr. Chavez as his caregiver; 5 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lita Gallegos and husband, Paciano of Albuquerque; brothers, Edward Chavez and wife, Rosemarie, Nick Chavez and wife, Priscilla all of Albuquerque; special friend, Jane Batten of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Georgia Chavez of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by his wife, Lila; daughter, Mary Emma Chavez; son, George Chavez; and brothers, Henry, Johnny, and Delfino Chavez. A Rosary will be recited Thursday, August 19, 2004, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, August 20, 2004, at 9:00 a.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th Street NW. CSEPREGI -- Frank Csepregi, 61, passed away on August 14, 2004 at the Cleveland Clinic due to complications following open-heart surgery. Frank was born in Budapest, Hungary and immigrated to the US in 1956 at the age of 14 following the Hungarian Revolution. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Washington and later went on to become a Mine Health and Safety Specialist for the U.S. Government. Frank proudly served our country as a Green Beret in the Special Forces of the Army. Since his retirement in 1986, he actively served our community as a member of the St. Pius Foundation Board of Trustees, the Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque and the Aquinas Newman Center Catholic Parish. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Alice Marosi-Csepregi; children, Cathy Csepregi of Chicago, Nicole Adams and her husband, Jerry of Indianapolis; mother, Magdalena Hollo; sister, Eva Hollo; and mother-in-law, Anna Marosi. A wake will be held Friday, August 20, 2004 at 7:00 p.m., and the funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2004. Both will be held at the Aquinas Newman Center, located at 1815 Las Lomas Road NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. Thank you to all who have extended your love, support and prayers during this difficult time. DAVIS -- Michael E. Davis, 56, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1988, passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2004. Michael was born May 16, 1948, the son of Paul Eugene and Phylis Elaine Cruse Davis in Illinois. He served in the US Marine Corps for over 20 years. Michael was a career Marine who loved his God and country. During his 23 year tenure, Mike served in Vietnam twice, by choice - later, he was the instructor for the Marine Corps Junior ROTC at Cibola High School for 13 years. Mike is preceded in death by his father and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Davis of the family's home; mother, Phylis Davis of Oxford, NY; three children, Lori Lunde of Rio Rancho, Lynette Shorkey and husband, Stephen of Rio Rancho, and Michael Davis and wife, Leslie of Apopka, FL; four grandchildren, Jessica Lunde, Christopher Shorkey, Kayleigh Shorkey, and Ryan Stanley; sisters and brothers, Nancee Halsteter of Oxford, NY, Sherrie Kuntz of Merit Island, FL, Maurice Davis of Monticello, IL, Allen Davis of Champaign, IL, Jeffrey Davis of Rantoul, IL, Traci Swisher of Urbana, IL, and Raelyn Davis of Monticello, IL. The service will be held today, Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary. EDWARDS -- JOSEPH ROGER EDWARDS AUG 14,1945 - AUG 14 2004 Joseph R. Edwards of Henderson, NV and longtime resident of Santa Fe and Placitas, NM was lost on Saturday August 14, 2004 as the result of a motorcycle accident. Joe was born on August 14, 1945 in Bremerton, WA. He was the son of Ewell and Ruth Edwards of Minnesota. The family moved to Juno Beach, FL in 1961 where Joe graduated from Riviera H.S. in 1965. In December of 1966 Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army and served at Holloman A.F.B. as a competitive expert marksman until October of 1968. On March 30, 1968, Joe was united in marriage to Susan Cook in Hobbs, NM. The couple were later divorced, but remained life long friends. The couple had two wonderful children, David and Christy who were his pride and joy. Joe then attended New Mexico J.C. and received his Associates Degree and continued on to NMSU where he received his Bachelors in Business Admin. in 1977. Joe was an insurance adjuster with Frontier in the Santa Fe area for 22 years, and he was an avid pool player in the BCA league. He enjoyed the numerous hunting and fishing expeditions with his family and friends over the years. On September 7, 1997 Joe married Jana M. (Murphy) Edwards at their home in Placitas. The couple spent a great deal of time camping and cycling with friends. In 2003 Jana and Joe moved to Nevada as Joe became involved in a thriving business in the motorcycle industry. Those who met Joe even once could clearly see he had a love of life, and he loved to bring joy and laughter to others. We will never forget that laugh as Joe could be heard three counties away when he was on a roll. Survivors include wife, Jana M. (Murphy) Of Henderson NV; one son, David Edwards; and daughter, Christy Edwards, both of Albuquerque; a step-daughter, Karianne (Schoenfelder) Johnson and husband, James "Jake" Johnson of Clarion, IA; step-son, Chad Schoenfelfer & wife, Nicole of Rochester, MN; sister, Wendy Smith of Seattle, WA; former wife, Sue (Cook) Stanford of Albuquerque; (9) grandchilderen; and many friends. The family asks that you join them in a gathering to honor Joe's life at the home of Dick and Judy Murphy in Albuquerque, NM. GALLEGOS -- Elena (Lucero) Gallegos, age 93, beloved sister and aunt, was called home by our Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 15, 2004. Visitations will be on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. HARRIS -- Jerry D. Harris died August 14, 2004, after a short illness. He was born in Albuquerque, NM on January 20, 1928 to Marian and Joe D. Harris. Jerry graduated from Albuquerque High School and the University of New Mexico. He was employed by J. Korber & Co. and later by First United Methodist Church. In 1998, he retired from the church after thirty years of service. Jerry was a resident of Albuquerque most of his life. Jerry is survived by his wife, Lucile Harris, and her two daughters: Sharon Bostick and husband, Ken of Pie Town, NM, and Paula Olson and husband, Jerry of Vienna, VA; his step-mother, Freda Harris of Albuquerque; his brother, Jeff Harris and wife, Aletha of The Woodlands, TX; his sisters, Diane Galbraith and husband, Bob of Tijeras, NM; and Debbie Barnett and husband, Rich of Albuquerque; two nephews, Thomas Joe Harris, M.D., and Tyler Barnett; two nieces, Aletha Harris Dodge and Krista Barnett; and several cousins. Jerry was an avid reader with history and ships as his special interests. He enjoyed traveling, spectator sports, especially baseball, and had a great love for dogs. HENRICKS -- Glenn Edward Henricks. There will be a celebration for the life of Glenn Edward Henricks on August 22, 2004 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the home of Tony and Marian Baca, 12309 Crested Moss Road NE, Albuquerque. Glenn was born to Harold E. and Marian Henricks Baca on June 8, 1955 in Kansas City, MO. He passed away peacefully on July 20, 2004. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ethyl and Harold Henricks; his maternal grandparents, Alma and Arthur Lineback; and a cousin, Joy Lynn Stephens Wallace. He is survived by his father, Harold E. Henricks of Shawnee, KS; his mother and stepfather, Marian and Tony Baca of Albuquerque; a brother, Dennis D. Henricks of Edgerton, KS; a sister, Shari R. Henricks of Olathe, KS; an aunt, Bonnie Stephens Voit of Fort Worth, TX; a great aunt, Pat Shryer of Riley, KS; an aunt and uncle, Norma and Roland Garrett of Shawnee, KS; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. HUTCHISON -- Cathleen Smith Hutchison, 55, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, died Tuesday, August 17, 2004 after a long battle with breast cancer. She is survived by her son, Erik Fichter of Virginia; parents, Don and Lola Hutchison of Detroit, MI; sister, Janet Ford and husband, Christopher of Centennial, CO; brother, Kevin Hutchison of Sault St. Marie, MI; and much loved niece, nephew, and great-niece and -nephew. Cathleen was born in Detroit, MI and received her BA from the University of Michigan and a Masters from Wayne State University in Detroit. She worked several years at Sandia National Labs and Honeywell. Cathleen was very involved in quilting. She was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, serving as a deacon and a choir member. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2004, 2:00 p.m., at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd. NE, with Catherine Robinson officiating.
