CAMPBELL -- Campbell, William Joseph, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, succumbed to cancer on Tuesday, December 14, 2004. Bill was born in Long Island, NY. He entered the USMC where he served from 1953-57. In 1958, he entered the U.S. Army where he distinguished himself as both a leader and an inspiration to the men he served with. He retired after 22 years of military service. Bill will be laid to rest at the gravesite of his older brother, Thomas Campbell, at Arlington National Cemetery. Bill is survived by his loving wife Beth; daughters, Debra Jean Sayed, Taimi Ann Carbonell, Patricia Marie Campbell; and son, Christopher; nine grandchildren; a sister, Theresa Leshinski; and brother, Joe. GELWICKS -- Helen Elizabeth Gelwicks, 90, passed away Friday, December 10, 2004. Helen was born Wednesday, October 26, 1914 in Duncannon, PA to Dewey and Bertha Puff. Helen married Hary A. "Pete" Gelwicks on June 19, 1933. Helen & Pete moved to Albuquerque in 1948. She worked at Sandia Corporation for 21 years, retiring in 1973. Helen is survived by her husband of 71 years; her daughter, Beverly Laws and her husband, Tom of Roswell, NM. She had three grandchildren, Tom Laws and his wife, Debra of Silver City, NM; Tambra Straley of Bagley, MN and Suzie Berry and her husband Craig of Austin, TX. GROSSETETE -- Margaret Elizabeth (Sue), 90, passed away just as her father did, on her own terms, by sheer will and with dignity on Monday, December 13, 2004. She was an architect by vocation, as was her mother. For her own enjoyment, she continued to draw plans and renderings until her final days. She also loved to design and decorate. Beloved mother of Alec Grossetete, Don Grossetete, and Elizabeth Cerelle Hippeli. Beloved mother-in-law of Ginger Grossetete, Jackie Grossetete, and Julian Hippeli. Especially Memaw of Elizabeth Gay Blech (& Dusty), Teri Maclennan (& Brian), Grant Grossetete (& Kristi), Mark Grossetete (& Kathy), Dacian Hippeli, Tayin Jon Hippeli, and Elizabeth Rani Hippeli. HANSEN -- William H. "Bill" Hansen, 64, ended his earthly journey on December 15, 2004. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, and precious grandson. After his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer in August 2003, he continued to live life to the fullest with his family and friends, continuing to travel, enjoying symphony concerts, and giving of his time and multiple talents wherever they were sought or needed. He is survived by his faithful wife, Lorna; daughters, Maria Hansen and Andrea Low; sons-in-law, Steve Hoffman and Peter Low; grandson, Christian Low; and brother, Robert Hansen and wife, Meredith. Bill began a lifetime of service to others when he was ordained in the Lutheran Church and served as a pastor for 11 years. He then began a career with the Social Security Administration and serviced 28 years until his retirement in February 2004. He will be remembered for his passion for classical music, his skill in culinary arts, and his continual quest to plan perfect vacations and outings for his family. He will always be remembered as a dignified, compassionate, and gracious man who was generous in giving of himself to others. KELLEMS -- Mary Frances Kellems, 84, a resident of Albuquerque since 1940, died Monday, December 13, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Nelson Kellems of Albuquerque; sister, Bonnie Artz of Texas; sister-in-law, Elaine White and her two daughters of Kansas; very special niece, Debbie Moore and husband, Mike of Texas; and niece, Vicki Miller and husband, Jerry of Florida. Mrs. Kellems was a member of Central United Methodist Church for twenty years. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Nile Alhydaiya Committee of the Shrine, where she worked with Shrine supported Children's Hospitals. Mrs. Kellems had a passion for gardening and enjoyed various hand crafting projects. Services will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. NE. METOYER -- Dony Metoyer. Memorial service will be held for Dony Metoyer on Saturday, December 18, 2004. The memorial will be held at 2919 4th Street NW, at the Direct Services Funeral Home. Doors will be open at 2 pm with the services beginning at 2:30 pm. Dony was born in Oklahoma, but was a resident of Albuquerque for 56 years. She attended Albuquerque Public Schools and graduated from Sandia High School. Dony was a nurse and served at several major hospitals in Albuquerque. She is survived by her brother, Joe Wilson, and her niece, Erin Wilson.

PARKER -- Alfred. The faculty, staff, and students of the Economics Department at the University of New Mexico wish to extend sincerest condolences to wife Judy, and the extended family, of Alfred Parker. A professor emeritus of the University, Al Parker had a lengthy and distinguished career in the department, serving as Chair for nine years. He was a complete scholar, researching, publishing, teaching, and mentoring students, as well as providing service to the university and the wider community. He continued to contribute to the department after his retirement, and his passing is a great loss, but his legacy will live forever through the generous gift of a scholarship in his name. We have lost a colleague, a leader, a mentor, and a friend--a true scholar and a gentleman.

SANCHEZ -- Michael Paul Sanchez May 30, 1985-December 17, 2003 In Loving Memory Michael, a son, a grandson, a brother, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. You are very special to your family and friends. It has been a year since our Heavenly Father called you home. Although you are now with our Saviour our hearts here on earth still hurt, a hurt that may not heal until we meet again in heaven. We are left here with only pictures and our memories. God please do not let them fade. Your big beautiful smile, your happy eyes and the sound of your cheeful laughter will no longer be a part of our daily lives. We remember when your Mom use to call you Clifford (the big red dog) when you were growing up because you were growing so big, so fast right before her eyes. The morning your life was so violently taken the lives of your family changed forever more. There is emptiness in our hearts that cannot be filled. Eighteen years was much too short, although we are so blessed God sent you to be with us awhile. We do not need a special day to bring you to our minds. Each morning when we awake and know that you are gone, despite our heartaches we try and carry on. Our hearts cry out to God, "How could you let this happen?" We are reminded that Michael was given to us from Heaven and was not ours to keep, but a loan from God. And now he has returned to his Heavenly Father. Someday God's purpose will be revealed and our questions will be answered. We know you are finally free to follow the path God has laid for you. As you look down from Heaven seeing our silent tears knowing how much we miss you and knowing the pain in our hearts. God promises in Heaven we will not be apart. All we have is our dreams, in our dreams you are alive and well. Our family chain is broken and nothing will ever be the same; but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again. Michael, your family loves you and we miss you so very much. You will never be forgotten.

SENA -- Reyes Viola Sena December 17, 1920 - December 15, 2004 Our dear Mom passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends after a short illness. Reyes was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gilbert (Gillie) E. Sena, and her parents Cesario and Deloisa Ortiz. Also preceding her in death were her brothers and sisters, Rosinaldo Ortiz, Preciliano Ortiz, Willie Ortiz, Medardo Ortiz, Julian Ortiz, Frank Ortiz, Eurcenia CdeBaca, and Mary Aranda. Reyes was the loving mother of Juanita Sena-Shannon and husband, Martin Shannon, Elizabeth Griego and partner, Jose Comancho, Gilbert R. Sena and partner, Ellen Trabka, and Patricia Sena and partner, Steve Dwyer. Nana was adored by her grandchildren, Susan Lopez and husband, Santiago, David Shannon and wife, Christina, Josh Gonzales and wife, Candice, Bonnie Jane Sena, Michael Sena and Michelle Griego. Her great-grandchildren brought smiles and joy to her life: Santiago, Brianna, and Nicolas Lopez, Caitlin, Jacob, and Isabel Shannon, and Shaylee, Zaiah, and new baby boy Gonzales. Reyes is survived by her siblings Donelia Roybal, Rosina and Gene Clayton, Reynaldo and Stella Ortiz, Jerry Aranda, Helen Ortiz, Val Ortiz, Lucy Sena, Alice Sena and Eleanor Sena. Her many friends and relatives will miss her greatly. Our mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had unbound devotion to her marriage and family life with her loving husband, Gillie. She was admired and respected for her commitments, positive attitude and love for her religion and spiritual life. Throughout her life, Reyes was active in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish community. Mom never hesitated in sharing with others and graciously and generously contributed to various charitable organizations. Through her example, she taught others around her to accept the shortcomings in life and praise their gifts from God. We invite all to join us for a Rosary in honor of Reyes Sena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Mass celebrating her life is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 18 also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will be held Monday, December 20, 2004, 11:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. WILLIAMS -- Hazel F. Williams, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on December 13, 2004. She was born in Salem, MA, on July 7, 1907 and moved to Albuquerque when her husband, James retired from the US Navy in 1947. He served on the Battleship South Dakota in the South Pacific and received a commendation for bravery under fire. Hazel was a Nanny to children of many families in Albuquerque and will be sorely missed by her charges, her family, and friends. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, James, of 54 years; her mother and father; and seven other brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, James and wife, Elizabeth Williams of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Norma Ragland of Ledyard, CT; two brothers, Ernest Little of Boxford, MA and Harry Little of Ipswitch, MA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Hazel asked to be cremated and desired to have no formal service. She preferred to be remembered by family and friends as they knew her in life. Goodbye dear "Grammie." We'll miss you. YARBROUGH -- Nina Yarbrough was born December 8, 1907 in Throckmorton County, Texas, to Marcus Willard and Martha Jane Jones Raper. She died Monday, December 13, 2004 in Albuquerque, NM. She was preceded in death by both parents and by five siblings, Huey, Carl, Orville, Annie Dillard, and I.V. Freeman. Nina married George Samuel Yarbrough on December 22, 1928. From this 42-year marriage were born two children who survive her, Nina Mardelle Manes and husband, James of Tucson, AZ; and George Marcus Yarbrough and wife Kathryn of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; Todd Manes; Darin and Molly Manes, Caitlin and Zachary; Laura and Keith Hurley; Jake and Lynita Yarbrough, Sofia and Gabriela; Emily and Thomas Smith, and Matthew. As a longtime educator in New Mexico, Nina was instrumental in shaping the lives of many children. She began her teaching career in 1928 in Harding County in a one-room school. Other assignments were in the communities of Roy, Mills, Quay, Causey, Dora, Floyd, and Moriarty. Mrs. Yarbrough retired in 1977. During her retirement years, Nina continued to give of herself to various volunteer activities in Portales. She was a member of First Baptist Church; Friendship Rebekah Lodge No. 24; AAUW; and Retired Teachers' Association. She worked tirelessly at the Senior Citizens' Meal Site, both as a delivery person and as cashier and served on the Golden Acres Retirement Community Board of Directors. When asked to sum up her life, Nina once quoted, "Ask not what life can give you, but seek to serve your brother. The richest joys that man can know are those he shares with others." Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 18, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Portales with burial to follow in House, NM.
