Obituary for HANSEN

William H. "Bill" Hansen, 64, ended his earthly journey on December 15, 2004. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife, daughters, and precious grandson. After his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer in August 2003, he continued to live life to the fullest with his family and friends, continuing to travel, enjoying symphony concerts, and giving of his time and multiple talents wherever they were sought or needed. He is survived by his faithful wife, Lorna; daughters, Maria Hansen and Andrea Low; sons-in-law, Steve Hoffman and Peter Low; grandson, Christian Low; and brother, Robert Hansen and wife, Meredith. Bill began a lifetime of service to others when he was ordained in the Lutheran Church and served as a pastor for 11 years. He then began a career with the Social Security Administration and serviced 28 years until his retirement in February 2004. He will be remembered for his passion for classical music, his skill in culinary arts, and his continual quest to plan perfect vacations and outings for his family. He will always be remembered as a dignified, compassionate, and gracious man who was generous in giving of himself to others. A service of worship and celebration of his life will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE on Friday, December 17, 2004 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9100 Menaul Blvd. NE, the Symphony Orchestra of Albuquerque, 1412 Catron Ave SE, or the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87110.
