Alfred. The faculty, staff, and students of the Economics Department at the University of New Mexico wish to extend sincerest condolences to wife Judy, and the extended family, of Alfred Parker. A professor emeritus of the University, Al Parker had a lengthy and distinguished career in the department, serving as Chair for nine years. He was a complete scholar, researching, publishing, teaching, and mentoring students, as well as providing service to the university and the wider community. He continued to contribute to the department after his retirement, and his passing is a great loss, but his legacy will live forever through the generous gift of a scholarship in his name. We have lost a colleague, a leader, a mentor, and a friend--a true scholar and a gentleman.
