Bedeaux -- Mary Myer Bedeaux, 73, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, January 25, 2001. She is survived by her husband, Jim Bedeaux; son, Roy Bedeaux and wife, Martha; daughter, Michele Wetherill and husband, Rhys, all of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, Daniel, Clay, Adria, Colleen and Richard; and one sister, Elsie Bell and husband, John of Corpus Christi, TX. Mrs. Bedeaux was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She graduated from Albuquerque High School. Duncan -- Randy Lucille Duncan-Poole, 46, went to celebrate eternity with the Lord, on May 19, 2001, after battling Lung Cancer. She was preceded by her father, James M. Duncan II. Survivors include her husband, Stephen J. Poole; her son, Joseph Buck Esposito, his wife, Ginger; and two grandchildren, Luke and Noah of Hawaii. She is also survived by her mother, Pearl L. McElyea; siblings, James M. Duncan III, Buck Duncan and wife, Tami, Tammy Starr Greene and Gabriella Duncan of Albuquerque, NM, Rondy Jethro of Florida; and many nieces, nephews,"ants" and uncles. Randy accomplished many things in her time here on earth. She enlisted in the United States Navy and served with the Seabees in Gulf Port, MS. as well as Adak, AK. She left the service and received her masters degree in Psychology. She worked with developmentally disabled persons in Newton, Iowa. Randy loved life and working with people. Memorial Services will be held at Jeanne Bellamah Community Center 11516 Summer NE at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2001. Pot luck and Duncan Jam following. All are welcome! Grajeda -- Irene Nan Grajeda, 54, a 12-year resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Reynaldo �Rey� Grajeda of the family home; son, Dominic Grajeda of Albuquerque; daughters, Dina Giovale and husband, Joe of Phoenix and Regina Grajeda of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Ryan Giovale and Floyd Grajeda; mother, Lupe Alvarado of Pirtleville, AZ; and sisters, Ramona Santamaria and husband, Charlie of Douglas, AZ, and Mary Marshall of Rio Rico, AZ. She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Alvarado and brother, Ramon Alvarado. Irene was a member of the Albuquerque Garden Club (Blue Belles), and Risen Savior Prayer Group. Koury -- Helen M. Koury, 83, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past six years, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Helen was born October 27, 1917 the daughter of John Gibran and Sadie Shadid Albert in Wichita, Kansas. She came to Rio Rancho from Santa Fe. Helen had been a teacher in the Santa Fe Public Schools for 30 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Koury in 1981. Helen is surviveed by two sons, Jerry Koury and wife, Gloria of Tucson, AZ, John Koury and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque, three brothers, Ralph Albert and Raymond Albert of Elk City, OK, and Ned Albert of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Frances Khoury of Oklahoma City, OK and Blanche Alex of Flint, MI; four grandchildren, Alex, Peter, Jason and Tami Koury; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited for Helen on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. Ludmer -- Graciela Ludmer, 59, a resident of Albuquerque for 28 years, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Graciela was a beloved mother, grandmother and sister. Michele -- Anna D. Michele passed away on January 21, 2001. She was a resident of Albuquerque since 1953. Anna is survived by her sister, Mary Louise Graziano and husband, Rocco; nieces, Stephanie Ann Hills and husband, Joseph and son, Aza, Roxanne Person� and husband, Russ and daughter, Lucia; nephews, Nicholas Barzona and wife, Jan and daughter, Rachael, Michael Barzona and daughter, Mia all residing in PA. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Dad, Mr. and Mrs. Domenic Michele, brother, Angelo Michele, sister, Thomasine Barzona, and brother-in-law, Nicholas Barzona, Sr. She was a retiree of Sandia National Laboratories; served in the Navy in WWII; a member of WAVES National, Past President of Professional Secretaries International and served as a volunteer for a number of years for the Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau. Oakes -- Peggy Oakes, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, died Thursday, January 25, 2001. She is survived by her sister, Patsy Heckman and husband, Wayne of Dixon, IL; brother, Jack Oakes and wife, Margaret of Albuquerque; nieces and nephews, Steven, Devon, Saralen, Andrew, Ellen, Deanna and Carla; and special friends, Elizabeth La Chey and husband, Marc and Greita Van Couvering, all of Albuquerque. Miss Oakes graduated from Rochelle Township High School in 1950. She received a R.N. from St. Anthony School of Nursing, Rockford, IL, a B.S.N. from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL, and received a M.S. from the University of New Mexico. Miss Oakes was commissioned as a missionary by the Presbyterian Church, and spent ten years as a nurse on the Navajo Reservation in Ganado, AZ. She taught nursing for 14 years at the University of Albuquerque. Miss Oakes worked as a public health nurse until retirement, much of the time as a �refugee nurse. She served as Chairman of the Board on the Refugee Association for several years. Miss Oakes was an active member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church since 1969 ordained both as a Deacon and an Elder, having served in other capacities. Patino -- Frank Patino, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Wednesday, January 24, 2001. He is survived by his daughters, Priscilla F. Bennett and husband, Arthur of Albuquerque and Loretta M. Lee of Hermiston, OR; son, Tom Baker and wife, Pat of Anaheim, CA; daughter-in-law, Alice Patino; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Frank was preceded in death by his spouse, Sally Patino, one son, Anthonly J. Patino and ten brothers and sisters. Mr. Patino was a member of the Catholic Church. Sandoval -- Mr. Napoleon J. (Nap) Sandoval went home to our Lord Friday, January 26, 2001. Napoleon was born to Manuel and Manuelita Sandoval in Martineztown on April 4, 1925. He graduated from Albuquerque High and the University of New Mexico. He served in the US Marine Corps and was decorated with the Purple Heart for his bravery in combat in the Gilbert Islands in World War II. He worked for the Department of Labor where he retired as a director at the Employment Security Commission of New Mexico. He was a very active and accomplished individual serving on the boards of many organizations including San Ignacio Credit Union, PERA, and New Mexico Retirees Health Care Association. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He loved hunting and fishing and continued to fish with his dear friends at the North Valley Senior Center. He was a founding member of St. Therese Catholic Church where he continued to assist as an alter server. Napoleon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette (Nattie) C De Baca Sandoval. He is survived by his daughter, Ethel Garcia and husband, Art; son, Roderick Sandoval; his brothers, Eloy Sandoval, and Ben Sandoval and wife, Stella; he is also survived by nephews, Christopher, Gregory and Paul, and many other family members. He was a kind and wonderful man, a loving husband, father and brother. His memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese with Fr. Serna -- Pablo Serna, 96, went home to the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2001. He is preceded in death by his wife, Manuelita, son, Julian Serna and an infant grandson. He is survived not only by his remaining children, but by grandchildren, Lori Galemore, Isabel Smith, Ruben Castillo, Pablo Serna, Lawrence Gurule, Joey Serna, Roberta Serna, Julian Serna and numerous great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Sizemore -- Luther A. Sizemore Jr., passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2001, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by Eula, his devoted wife of 46 years; also surviving are four daughters, Patricia and husband, Dennis Rowden, Maureen and husband, John Button of Oregon, Sharon and husband, Tom Brooks, and Jean and husband, Mike Congleton; and one son, James Ladell, all of Albuquerque; two sisters, Juanita Hutchins of Springfield, MO, and Martha and husband, R.V. Lynn of Edmond, OK; one brother, Arnold Gene and wife, Jeanne of California; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. As a strong labor leader, his life was devoted to the advancement of the working class people. His innovative ideas and compassion earned him the respect of his peers locally and internationally. Luther retired as Executive Secretary-Treasurer of New Mexico District Council of Carpenters. He was honored to receive his fifty year membership gold card. Stull -- Margaret "Peg" Stull, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1962, died Monday, January 22, 2001. She is survived by her son, Mark S. Stull and wife, Gina of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Bernadine Tally and husband, Mike of Sadiville, KY; grandson, Chris Sandoval and wife, Raeanne; great-grandsons, Aaron, Austin, Joel and Jeremy Sandoval, all of Albuquerque; and sisters, Lois Davis of South Williamsport, PA and Dede Reeser of Prattsburg, NY. Mrs. Stull collected dolls, she loved antique dolls and was also an avid gardener. Valdes -- Don Juan Valdes, age 67, of Las Cruces, died on January 22, 2001. Don was the older of two children of Epimenia "Eppie" Mares and the late Johnnie Valdes and oldest grandchild of the late Juan B. and Dora Valdes. Don graduated from St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe in 1952. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. In 1958, Don Married Gloria A. Santamaria in Pasadena, CA. Don, who retired this past year, was most recently employed as a Property Administrator at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Prior to that he had worked as a Purchasing Agent at NMSU and the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Don is survived by his wife, Gloria; his son, Mark and wife, Patti Valdes of Albuquerque; his daughter, Lisa and husband, Ferdinand Tauscheck of Las Cruces; his mother, Eppie; and sister, Alice McKirnan of Santa Fe; three grandchildren, Tawny, Briana and Chad Tauscheck of Las Cruces, NM; and niece, Michele Stone; and nephews, Chuck McKirnan of Rowland Heights, CA, and Michael McKirnan of Santa Fe; and numerous other friends and relatives. Cremation has taken place, and Don's remains will be interred at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Fort Bliss, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association.

Weir -- Geraldine Leighton Weir, 88, passed away recently at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. She was born in El Paso, TX August 3, 1912, to William C. Leighton and Pearl Parry Leighton. Her father served for many years in international railroad traffic management as cashier and general agent of the El Paso Southern Railway or Mexico Northwestern Railway. Her grandfather, James W. Leighton, an English Immigrant, settled in Socorro along with Joseph Edward Smith, renowned frontier photographer. James Leighton married Elizabeth Chadwick of Leeds, England, in 1885 in Socorro and in 1887 William was born in Kelly, NM as the first of six children. Of these Leighton children, one was born in the Territory of New Mexico, one was born in Mexico, one was born in England, and three were born in El Paso where the family finally settled. Later Marriages of this group of children brought to the family the names of Gilchrist and Rowland who were early settlers at Taos, Mora, and Las Vegas. Geraldine graduated from El Paso High School and later moved to Las Cruces when she married attorney Jess D. Weir in 1935. At this time, she joined the First Presbyterian Church of Las Cruces of which she remained a lifelong member. She was active in her church circle, the Christian Day Nursery, the Hospital Auxiliary, the Community Concert Assn., and the I.F.F. Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Parry Leighton, and her sister, Mary Seddon. She is survived by her two sons, William Leighton Weir and wife, Connie of Albuquerque, and Jay Weir of Las Cruces; along with grandchildren Christy Weisz and Michael Weir of Albuquerque and Billy Weir of Peoria, AZ; she was also very fond of her three great-grandsons. At her request there were no services. Memorials may be made to the New Mexico Boys Ranch at Belen.
