Mr. Napoleon J. (Nap) Sandoval went home to our Lord Friday, January 26, 2001. Napoleon was born to Manuel and Manuelita Sandoval in Martineztown on April 4, 1925. He graduated from Albuquerque High and the University of New Mexico. He served in the US Marine Corps and was decorated with the Purple Heart for his bravery in combat in the Gilbert Islands in World War II. He worked for the Department of Labor where he retired as a director at the Employment Security Commission of New Mexico. He was a very active and accomplished individual serving on the boards of many organizations including San Ignacio Credit Union, PERA, and New Mexico Retirees Health Care Association. He was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans. He loved hunting and fishing and continued to fish with his dear friends at the North Valley Senior Center. He was a founding member of St. Therese Catholic Church where he continued to assist as an alter server. Napoleon was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeanette (Nattie) C De Baca Sandoval. He is survived by his daughter, Ethel Garcia and husband, Art; son, Roderick Sandoval; his brothers, Eloy Sandoval, and Ben Sandoval and wife, Stella; he is also survived by nephews, Christopher, Gregory and Paul, and many other family members. He was a kind and wonderful man, a loving husband, father and brother. His memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese with Fr.
