Obituary for Koury

Helen M. Koury, 83, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past six years, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2001. Helen was born October 27, 1917 the daughter of John Gibran and Sadie Shadid Albert in Wichita, Kansas. She came to Rio Rancho from Santa Fe. Helen had been a teacher in the Santa Fe Public Schools for 30 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Koury in 1981. Helen is surviveed by two sons, Jerry Koury and wife, Gloria of Tucson, AZ, John Koury and wife, Debbie of Albuquerque, three brothers, Ralph Albert and Raymond Albert of Elk City, OK, and Ned Albert of Tulsa, OK; two sisters, Frances Khoury of Oklahoma City, OK and Blanche Alex of Flint, MI; four grandchildren, Alex, Peter, Jason and Tami Koury; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited for Helen on Sunday, January 28, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho.
