Ahlefelder -- Andrew Terryn Ahlefelder, 38, a resident of Albuquerque for 23 years, died on Wednesday, December 6, 2000. Andrew was the beloved son of Carole Terryn Ahlefelder and the late Col. Henry J. Ahlefelder. He is also survived by his loving sister, Karen Ahlefelder Watkins and husband, Alfred of Bethesda, MD; niece, Madeleine; nephew, William; brother, Henry John Ahlefelder of Amsterdam, Netherlands; grandmother, Dorothy Terryn of Northport, NY; aunt, Dorothea Cook of Northport, NY; aunt and uncle, Joan and Ewald Gauchel of Eichholz, Germany; longtime family friend, Charles Hausenfleck of Albuquerque, who Andrew always said was a special blessing to him and his mother. Baer -- Vivian L. Baer, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1971, died on Wednesday, December 6, 2000. Butts -- Rev. Pattie M. Butts, age 63, of Jal, NM passed away suddenly Tuesday, December 5, 2000. Survived by son, Donald D. Butts of Stafford, VA; daughters, Joni L. Dipatri and Jaynie Brookshire, both of Knoxville, TN; beloved sister, Bonnie Krause of Las Vegas, NV; Pattie's three cherished grandchildren, Chrissy Atchley and Frank DiPatri of Knoxville, TN; and Garry Bull Of Oklahoma City, OK; her dear family, Edna Mae, Dona, and Robert Butts of Albuquerque, Jenny Ruttle of Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nephews, nieces and other loving family. She joins her parents in death, Ted and Agnes McCulley of Las Vegas, NV. Originally from Las Vegas, NV, Pattie lived in New Mexico since the late 1950's. For over the last ten years, she was a pastor in the New Mexico Conference of the United Methodist Church serving various congregations within New Mexico. She was most recently the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Jal, NM. Pattie will be sadly missed by family, wonderful friends, and the many people whose lives she touched over the years. Memorial services are scheduled at First United Methodist Church in Jal, NM on Friday, December 8, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. and in Albuquerque at Central United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2000. Camperell -- Irene Camperell, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died Tuesday, December 5, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Frank R. Camperell of Albuquerque; daughters, Carmen M. Wyszomierski and husband, Sam of Holtsville, NY, Dr. Kay Camperell of Logan, UT, and Cindy A. Liess and husband, Bill of Farmington, NM; grandchildren, Jonathan Wyszomierski and wife, Karin and Jacob Liess and wife, Cheri; great-grandchildren, Thomas J. Wyszomierski, Ashley Wyszomierski, Brittany Wyszomierski, and Jonathan Wyszomierski; sisters, Margaret Gibbs and Fay Pirkle, both of Dalhart, TX, Helen Oguin of Dallas, TX, and Violet Parker of Monroe, LA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her three sisters and two brothers. Mrs Camperell worked as a cosmetologist and beautician in Dumas, TX where she owned her own business, but after marriage became a full time homemaker. She was an honorary member of the Nile Choirsers and a faithful member of Mountainside Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and a loving mother and grandmother. Services will be held Friday, December 8, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd. NE, with Alan Taylor officiating. Denny -- Raymond Allen Denny, 71, of 513 Oakwood dr. Bellefontaine, OH 43311, formerly of Albuquerque, NM died at 7:10 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2000. He was born August 12, 1929 in Danville, VA. Mr. Denny married the former Joanne McLaughlin on July 16, 1967, in Nahanl, Mass and she survives in Bellefontaine. He was a veteran in the US Navy and served in the Korean War. He retired from General Electric as an engineer after 40 years of service. He is survived by one daughter, Ann (Pat) Culp of Bellefontaine; and one grandson, Nathan Denny Culp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral conducted by Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, OH.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Raphael Gonzales and his brother-in-law, Gabriel Ponce. He is survived by his mother, Maria (Rusaura) Gonzales, of Albuquerque; children, Estanislado Gonzales, Jr., and his wife, Jennifer, of Phoeniz, AZ, Raymond Gonzales and his wife, Maria, of Los Lunas, Mary Ann Gonzales of Deming, Dennis Gonzales and his wife, Geneva of Albuquerque and Daniel Gonzales and his wife, Sonya of Belen; sisters, Esperanza Lopez of Las Cruces, and Ramona Ponce of Monteursville, PA and numerous loving grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 10, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. in Palm Chapel at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. He was born January 21, 1920 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late James and Mary Hart. He was preceded in death by his brother, Amon Hart. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of T or C; daughter, Karin Swelling of Albuquerque; step-daughters, Debra Davitt of T or C and Cheryl Nigg of Albuquerque; son, Richard E. Jones -- Stephen Erik Jones was born on March 15, 1968 in New York City. Known to his friends as"Stefan," he died a peaceful death on Sunday December 3, 2000. He is survived by his mother, Tilda Sosaya; sisters, Ann-Marie & Noelle of Albuquerque, sister, Sarah Reinhardt of Venice, California; and brother Alex, presently in Virginia; his very special grandmother Thilda Dick of St. Petersberg, FL; and his Uncle Herb Dick of Sacremento, CA; his step-father Ramon Sosaya of Albuquerque, and step-mother Laura of Santa Fe. He is preceded in death by sister Angela, grandmother Reta, grandfather Rev. Herbert A. Dick. Martinez -- Anita Maes Martinez, 74, was escorted by a chorus of Angels to her Heavenly Father and His Beloved Mother on Sunday, December 3, 2000, with her family at her bedside. She will be in eternal rest with her Little Angel, Danny. Anita was born on March 8, 1926 in Mora, NM to Daniel Maes and Roberta Romero. Anita and her husband were married 58 years ago in Ely, NV. They moved to Albuquerque in 1948. Anita was a vibrant lady during her time on earth, and wishes that her family and friends wear bright colors to celebrate eternal life. During her short years on this earth Anita raised a family of one son and five daughters. She was a long time member of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, Estolano; son, Robert Lee (Bobby) Martinez and wife, Linda; daughters, Linda Bassi and husband, Richard of Rio Rancho; Rita Martinez and husband, Patrick Rooney; Anita Garcia and husband Gilbert; Maria Elena Maestas; Clarissa Valdez and husband, Martin, all of Albuquerque. Anita was the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren, Danita Martinez of Phoenix, AZ, Christina Martinez Steele of Centreville, VA, Bobby Martinez of Chapel Hill, NC; twins Matthew Wilson and wife, Noriko of Eglin AFB, FL, Michael Wilson of Jacksonville, NC; Marie Bassi of St. Louis, MO, Mark Bassi; Kristy and Christopher Garcia; Fabian and Mariah Maestas and their father, Walter Maestas; Jacob, Lucas and Adam Valdez, all of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, Izabella Maestas and Kaya Wilson; one sister, Juanita Maes Chavez of Albuquerque; and several relatives in Albuquerque and throughout Northern New Mexico. Anita was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished many activities with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her love of Angels. Montoya -- Espiridion G. Montoya, age 83, passed away December 5, 2000 at the Veterans Hospital following an illness. Mr. Montoya as born March 12, 1917 in Anton Chico, NM to the home of Miguel and Rebecca Gallegos Montoya. He was reared and attended schools in Vaughn, NM. Mr. Montoya was a World War II Veteran serving in the Unites States Army. Espiridion was a long time Vaughn businessman where he owned and operated the Yucca Motel and the Texaco gas station. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vaughn. Espiridion is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Marquez Montoya; and a brother. Survivors include his children, Mike Montoya and wife, Cindy of Vaughn, Rebecca Montoya-Castro and husband, Ed of Chicago, IL and Thomas Speedy Montoya and wife, Belen of Amarillo, TX. Also surviving are two grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be celebrated on Friday at 5:30 p.m. from St. Mary's Church in Vaughn. Ortega -- Mrs. Virginia Elena Ortega, 66, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 4, 2000 after a battle for a liver transplant. Mrs. Ortega was flown to San Francisco on the 2nd of December for preparations to receive a liver. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ernest Ortega. She is also survived by her children, Elena Garcia and husband, Mike, Ernest Ortega Jr. and wife, Jessie, JoAnne Zamora and husband, Tati, Richard (Ricky) Ortega and wife, Loretta, Cindy Flores and husband, Felix, Evelyn Dominguez and husband, Richard and Nancy Martinez and husband, Marty; one sister, Ruth Hauser and husband, Bill of Fremont, CA; one brother, Jose Terrazas (Tito) and wife, Bonnie of Tucumcari, NM; 25 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rivera -- Placido R. Rivera, 57, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on December 6, 2000. Mr. Rivera was born in Villanueva, N.M. on January 17, 1943. He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip R. Rivera in 1994; his mother, Cipriana G. Rivera in 1985; and his brother, John G. Rivera Sr. in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Regina S. Rivera of Las Vegas, NV; his children, Annette Zubia and Lee Garris of Belen, NM, Antionette Sanchez and Joseph, Josette Holgun and John of Las Vegas, NV and Placido D. Rivera and Julia; thirteen grandchildren, Cassandra, Victoria, Dominic, Samantha, Anthony, Amber, Phylicia, Brandon, Jacob, Erika, Joshua, Nicholas and DiAngelo; one great granddaughter, Serenity; his father, Eutimio U. Rivera; brother and sisters, Joe N. Rivera and Helen, Gloria Turneer and Leon T., Crescencio L. Rivera and Judy and Lucille Quintana and Reydecel; many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. Mr. Rivera was a graduate of Rio Grande High School Class of 1961. He was a cement finisher throughout his life and mostly enjoyed hunting, fishing and his oldies, rock and roll music. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Ryland -- Juanita "Tina" Rodriguez Ryland, 84, a native New Mexican, died peacefully at her longtime home in Albuquerque on Sunday afternoon, December 3, 2000 after a lengthy illness. Born at 610 Canyon Rd., Santa Fe, on March 12, 1916 to Francisco Martinez Rodriguez and Carlota Garcia Rodriguez, she attended Loretto Girls Academy. In 1945, she married harry L. Ryland, Jr. an Army Air Corps serviceman from Washington D.C., who was stationed at Camp Luna in Las Vegas, NM. Their daughter, Mary was born in Las Vegas. The young family moved to Washington, D.C. after Harry returned from World War II. In 1948, they moved back to New Mexico because Tina's mother was very ill. Harry began what was to be a long career with the Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos where their son, Harry was born. In 1951, as part of a large AEC personnel transfer, the family of four moved to Albuquerque and into the family home on Dakota St. in 1952. Tina was preceded in death by her beloved parents and brothers, Leo and Elias. She was by her husband's side when he died in May, 1991. Tina is survived by her children, Mary and Harry; grandson, Patrick of Paris, France; brother, Alfredo Rodriguez and wife, Ida of Santa Fe; sister-in-law, Else (Mrs. Leo) J. Rodriguez of Santa Fe; nieces, Bella Rodriguez, McKenna and husband, Bruce of California, Charlotte Rodriguez Kosir and husband, Chris of Santa Fe, nephews, Leo Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Jessica of Arkansas, Dennis Rodriguez and wife, Natalie of Colorado; plus many cousins and great nieces and nephews. Tina loved her Catholic faith, her family, her state, her heritage, her pets and all animals. She enjoyed gardening and painting and her favorite color was turquoise. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2000 beginning at 5:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd, NE with Rev. Richard Olona presiding. Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas at Tennessee, NE with Rev. Luis Jaramillo presiding, Con-celebrants, Msgr. Leo Lucero, Msgr. Sipio Salas, Rev. Ramon Aragon. Burial will be Monday, December 11, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery following a memorial Mass at 9:30 a.m. at Cristo Rey Church on Canyon Road (where Tina and Harry were married). Rev. Lambert J. Luna will preside at the Mass and Rev. John Candido Rodriguez will preside at the interment. Every gracious and self-effacing, Tina asked for simple arrangements. Therefore, rather than flowers, please feed her beloved birds and stray animals either by hand or donation. Severinghaus -- Patricia A. Severinghaus, 69, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gilbert Severinghaus of Albuquerque; sons, Tom Severinghaus and wife, Mary of Los Alamos, NM, Jeffrey Severinghaus and wife, Kathryn and Dan Severinghaus and wife, Beverlee, all of Albuquerque; and grandchildren, Thomas Allen, Jr., Rachael, Cassandra, Nadeige, Brian, Matthew, and Rebecca Severinghaus, and Haeja England. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mildred Young and sister, Donna Kinal. Mrs. Severinghaus was a wonderful housewife, mother, and beloved grandmother. She loved traveling and enjoyed spending their retirement years visiting the western United States with her husband in their motor home. Along the way, she made many lasting friendships. Her life touched many people and she will be missed by all who knew her. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 8, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at Fairview Memorial Park, with W.K. Woodard officiating. Turner -- Blanche B. Turner, 86, a resident of Albuquerque and Red Stone, CO for over 50 years, died Tuesday, December 5, 2000. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie K. Suazo and husband, Jose of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Reuel, Karen, Monica, and Janel; six great-grandchildren, Drake, Ellen, Kathryn, Kayla, Samantha, and Mario; niece, Carol Champion and husband, Gene of Albuquerque. Winton -- Sylvester Curly Winton, wonderful husband, to wife, Donna and the greatest dad to sons, Bobby and Johnny, died from cancer on Wednesday, December 6, 2000. Curly was born on May 31, 1926 in Tuskahoma, OK. Son, Bobby has two daughters, Shaunna age 18 and Ashlynne age 7, all living in Albuquerque. Son, Johnny is married to Vickie. Johnny has two sons, Mathew Cody age 16 and Addison Hunter age 2 and daughter, Julia Delores age 13, all of Miami Florida. In addition to his wife and sons, Curly is survived by Evelyn Baker and family; Grady Winton and family; Christene Lutts and family; and Roy Dean Winton and family. Curly and Donna were married on December 4, 1948 one and a half years after his discharge from the United State Army, following two and a half years of service in WWII. They moved to Albuquerque in 1949 with Curly going to work for Duke City Lumber Co. from which he retired in 1988. Curly was a devoted father, husband, and friend to many. He loved to fish, hunt, and most of all help others.
