Ortega -- Mrs. Virginia Elena Ortega, 66, a life long resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 4, 2000 after a battle for a liver transplant. Mrs. Ortega was flown to San Francisco on the 2nd of December for preparations to receive a liver. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Ernest Ortega. She is also survived by her children, Elena Garcia and husband, Mike, Ernest Ortega Jr. and wife, Jessie, JoAnne Zamora and husband, Tati, Richard (Ricky) Ortega and wife, Loretta, Cindy Flores and husband, Felix, Evelyn Dominguez and husband, Richard and Nancy Martinez and husband, Marty; one sister, Ruth Hauser and husband, Bill of Fremont, CA; one brother, Jose Terrazas (Tito) and wife, Bonnie of Tucumcari, NM; 25 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Juanita Terrazas of Tucumcari, NM. Mrs. Ortega was a member of the Catholic Church and Auxiliary member of the D.A.V. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening at 7:00 at the Church of the Ascension, 2150 Ray Mac SW with Visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. The Legion of Mary reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Ascension with final viewing at the church after 9:30 a.m. Father Edmund Savilla, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the San Jose De Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vincente Hernandez, Ricky Ortega Jr., Robert Flores, J.R. Dominguez, Andrew Martinez and J.J. Ortega. Honorary will be Ernesto Ortega, Tati Zamora, Orlando Flores, Bobby Duran Jr. and Joe Terrazas. Gabaldon Mortuary, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW in charge of the arrangements.
