Hart -- Richard E. Hart, 80, a resident of Truth or Consequences, passed away on December 6, 2000 at a local hospital after a long illness. He was born January 21, 1920 in Paragould, Arkansas to the late James and Mary Hart. He was preceded in death by his brother, Amon Hart. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of T or C; daughter, Karin Swelling of Albuquerque; step-daughters, Debra Davitt of T or C and Cheryl Nigg of Albuquerque; son, Richard E. Hart II of T or C; step-sons, David Crader of Big Spring, TX and Jerry Eckert of El Paso, TX; sister, Pauline Babbs of Memphis, TN; and brother, James Hart of Paragould, AR. Donations may be made in Mr. Hart's name to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE, 87110. Private services will be held in T or C at a later date. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, in charge of arrangements.
