Anderson -- Anna L. Anderson, 80, passed away September 10, 2000. She was born September 27, 1919 to Ardith Shull and Earl Larson in Waco, TX. She married George M. Anderson on September 3, 1938 and was married for 57 years before he passed away in 1995. She is survived by three children, Martin Anderson and his wife, Sue, Edward Anderson and his wife, Betty, Sonya E. Day and her husband, George; six grandchildren, Brian K. Anderson, Candace Duval and her husband, Randy, James M. Anderson, Stacye Simpson and her husband, Jeff, Aaron Anderson and his wife, Suzy, Jason Anderson and his wife, Brandi, and seven great-grandchildren. The Andersons moved to Albuquerque in 1948 where she worked with PTAs and was a den mother with the Boy Scouts of America. They opened George's Fresh Meats and Deli in 1957 and built Lee's Apartments in 1964. Anna was a member of the Daughters of the Nile, Yucca Temple No. 74. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 12, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. Bachicha -- Roman "Raymond" Bachicha died Thursday. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria"Tina" Bachicha; three sons, Reymundo Anthony Bachicha, and wife, Charlene of Albuquerque, Walter Tomas Bachicha and wife, Theresa of Alameda, California, and Isaiah Ortiz of Albuquerque; five daughters, Margaret H. Bachicha, Mona Bachicha, Marlene Placencio and husband, Ruben, Dolores Sandoval and Lori Montoya all of Albuquerque; two brothers, Tomas Bachicha and wife, Cecilia of Santa Fe, and Fred Bachicha and wife, Cecilia of Albuquerque; three sisters, Elizabeth Holiday of San Francisco, California, Sally Chavez and Helen Caire and Buddy of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St SW, a Rosary will be recited tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons.

Blaine -- E. Joyce Blaine, PGM, went to meet her Lord on September 9, 2000. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 24, 1920, to Father Howard Close Carmody and Colette Naomi LeSeur Butler. During WWII she first worked for Boeing Aircraft, but due to the work she was doing, it damaged her eyes. She then went to work for the phone company in the Alaskan Territory. When the war was over, she married Robert L. Blaine in Santa Fe, NM in January 1946. She and her family finally settled in Albuquerque where she was able to pursue her passion of art not only in her work but also for her own pleasure. Joyce was active with the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Enchanted Assembly #56 in the early 1960's. She was also very active in Order of Eastern Star, Desert Rose Chapter #70 and served as Worthy Grand Matron for the state of New Mexico in 1983-84. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Blaine and and her son, Robert L. Blaine 2nd. She is survived by her daughters, Jana L. Blaine-Bailey of Tempe, AZ and Lynda L. Blaine-Duke of El Paso, TX; and granddaughter, Joyce R. Cambier of Scottsdale, AZ and two great-grandchildren. She will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery next to her beloved husband of 39 years. She was also a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Albuquerque. Memorial Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Thursday from the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors. Carpenter -- Carolyn Jan Carpenter, 59, a resident of Albuquerque since 1980, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2000. A brave little woman with a heart of gold, she graced our lives with her presence. She had battled chronic illness for many years. Jan is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles R. (Dick) Carpenter; her loving mother and caregiver, Florence L. Pearce of the family home; brother, Richard E. Pearce and son, Chris of Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Doris Hoggs of Chilton, Texas, and Mary Worsham of Fresno, CA. She was preceded in death by her father, Baxter A. Pierce in 1969. Other survivors include all the sons and daughters of the Charlie B. Carpenter family, their families, and many friends who loved her dearly. Jan enjoyed success as a hair stylist for many years, helping to support her husband during the early years of his Air Force Career. She retired to homemaking when illness forced her to leave the workforce. She enjoyed her bird collection, her home, garden, fishing, her poodle, Baby Tia. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place A private"Celebration of life" was held at the family home. Jan's cremains will be interned near her father's graveside in Fresno, CA. She fought a galliant battle and has finally found peace and relief from pain in the arms of our Lord. A bright light in our lives has been dimmed, but she will live in our hearts forever. Castillo -- Louie Joseph Castillo, 50, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away September 8, 2000. He was preceded in death by his parents, Casimero and Mary Ramirez, and is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda Castillo; three daughters, Linda Anita, Diana, and Mary; five sisters; three brothers; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who loved and will miss him. Elliott -- Dorothy Cox Elliott, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, died Friday, September 8, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Susan D. Scott and husband, Ronald of Las Cruces and Sarah Heaslet and husband, Eugene of Bosque Farms; grandchildren, Todd Scott and wife, Jessica of Las Cruces, Brian Scott and wife, Michelle of Phoenix AZ, Ronald Scott Jr. and wife, Linda of Las Cruces, Dr. Holly Heaslet of Worcester, MA, and Eric Heaslet of Portland, OR; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Addison, Campbell, Danica, Zoie and Zane. Elmore -- Elaine Elmore, 85, a resident of Edgewood for 28 years, died Friday, September 8, 2000. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Elmore of Edgewood, NM; daughter, Elaine Kozlowski of Edgewood, NM; son J. Charles Elmore and wife, Elva of Mission Viejo, CA; and many friends. Frazee -- Lena M. Frazee, age 76 and a life long resident of Belen, died on Saturday, September 9, 2000 following an illness. Mrs. Frazee is survived by two sisters, Barbara Ortiz of Belen, Rose Aragon and her husband, John, also of Belen; four brothers, Henry Jaramillo Jr. and his wife, Elsie of Belen, Gillie Jaramillo and his wife, Maryann of Los Lunas, Alfonso Jaramillo and his wife, Theresa of Belen, and Jerry Jaramillo and his wife, Nury of Los Lunas. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mrs. Frazee was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Belen where she was very very active. Leatherman -- Arnol Eugene (Gene) Leatherman died September 7, 2000 after a short illness. He was 84. Gene was born in Fargo, Oklahoma, November 18, 1915. He moved to New Mexico when he was 10 years old. He graduated from Kiowa school, where he was active in track and a basketball star. He married Wilda Bacon in 1938. They shared and enjoyed more than 62 wonderful years together. He worked at Sunshine Dairy for some years, then began working for ATSF Railroad in 1942. In his years with the railroad, he moved his family to Las Vegas, New Mexico and Albuquerque. He retired from the railroad after 36 years of service in 1977. Upon retirement he and his wife moved to Raton. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He is survived by his wife, Wilda Bacon Leatherman of the home; two children, Dale Leatherman and wife, Mary of Silver City, NM, and Anna Trantham and husband, Bill of Raton; one sister, Neva Bacon and brother-in-law, William (Bill) Bacon of Raton; nine loving grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by one son, Harvey Leatherman, in 1998. He was a a very loving, caring, giving man. A beloved husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. He was a member of UT Union for 69 years, and a member of Retired Rails. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Raton, where he was deacon and Chairman of Trustees for several years. He was Deacon Ametrius at his passing. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at First Christian Church (330 N 3rd Street), Saturday, September 16, 2000 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Cleve Bishop and Clyde Barnes officiating. Anyone who would like to share favorite memories of Gene is invited to do so at that time. Gene loved flowers, especially carnations and roses. Lucero -- Luciana M. (Lucy) Lucero, 84, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2000. She was the wife of the late Desiderio Lucero. She is survived by her son, Joe F. Padilla -- Mrs. Frances Padilla died Monday in Albuquerque at the age of 88. Mrs. Padilla was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed, and always remembered by the ones who loved her. We have lost our wonderful best friend. She will now be sleeping with the angels and guiding with her loved ones up on heaven. Love you Mama. Mrs. Padilla is survived by her son, Robert Padilla; daughters, Reina Nuanez, Martha Karns, Rosemary Hernandez, Virginia Mermis, and Frances Sanchez, a granddaughter that she raised. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Salazar -- Angel I. Salazar, 74, died on September 10, 2000 in Albuquerque. He was born in Tucumcari, NM and had lived in the Albuquerque area since 1968. He retired from the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include four children, Stephen Salazar of Chicago, IL, Anita McMillan of Advance, NC, Kanani Caauwe of Chicago, IL and Howard Salazar of Midway, KY; four sisters, Carmen Venegas of El Paso, TX, Delia Carter of Virginia Beach, VA, Rose Reger of Albuquerque, NM and Helen Herget of Kerrville, TX; and two brothers, Ignacio Salazar of Walnut Creek, CA and Crispin Salazar of Freemont, CA. Mr. Salazar is also survived by five grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Jessica, Lisa Marie, and Andrew. Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Skeean -- Lenora E. Skeean, 83, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2000. She was born in Worcester, MA and had lived in Albuquerque the last 40 years. She is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Pierson of Stuart, FL; sons, Howard F. Skeean and wife, Pauline of Mt. Kisco, NY, Richard W. Skeean and wife, Murrie of Ann Arbor, MI, Terrence L. Skeean and wife, Denise of Rio Rancho and Kevin L. Skeean and wife, Mary of Albuquerque; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Lenora was a member of AARP and a charter member of the WWII Memorial Fundraising Campaign. Services will be held Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Lemuel M. Boyles officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at 2:00 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, one hour prior to the service. Tabet -- Peter G. Tabet, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 9, 2000. He was a long time business owner and a lifetime New Mexico resident, born in Punta de Agua, NM. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Laura Beth; daughter, Nita Tabet; son, Peter Tabet, Jr. and wife, Lyn; grandchildren, Rebecca, Scott and Brian; daughter, Linda Tabet; daughter, Lori Tabet Breidenbach and husband, Geoffrey; and granddaughter, Stephanie Nicole Breidenbach de Tabet.
