Obituary for Carpenter

Carolyn Jan Carpenter, 59, a resident of Albuquerque since 1980, passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2000. A brave little woman with a heart of gold, she graced our lives with her presence. She had battled chronic illness for many years. Jan is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles R. (Dick) Carpenter; her loving mother and caregiver, Florence L. Pearce of the family home; brother, Richard E. Pearce and son, Chris of Las Vegas, NV; aunts, Doris Hoggs of Chilton, Texas, and Mary Worsham of Fresno, CA. She was preceded in death by her father, Baxter A. Pierce in 1969. Other survivors include all the sons and daughters of the Charlie B. Carpenter family, their families, and many friends who loved her dearly. Jan enjoyed success as a hair stylist for many years, helping to support her husband during the early years of his Air Force Career. She retired to homemaking when illness forced her to leave the workforce. She enjoyed her bird collection, her home, garden, fishing, her poodle, Baby Tia. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place A private"Celebration of life" was held at the family home. Jan's cremains will be interned near her father's graveside in Fresno, CA. She fought a galliant battle and has finally found peace and relief from pain in the arms of our Lord. A bright light in our lives has been dimmed, but she will live in our hearts forever.
