Boles -- Gayle Salley Boles, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Sunday, December 26, 1999. She is survived by her son, Thomas Lee Boles of Alamogordo; brother, Warren W. Salley and wife, Jeanne of Las Cruces; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by her husband, Millard M. Boles in 1976; and daughter, Carol Ann Boles in 1979. She came to Albuquerque from Villa Park, IL in 1964 and worked at Rhodes Dept. Store. Mrs. Boles was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was Past Royal Matron of La Mesa Court #3, held offices in the Eastern Star, and was a member of the White Shrine. She was also a member of D.A.R. Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church, 10000 Candelaria NE, with Rev. Milton Propp officiating. Cremation will follow services. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Brown -- Nellie (Nolia) Brown, 73, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday morning at St. Anthony's Central Hospital in Denver following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Candelaria Garcia Roybal. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Pereda and her husband, Jorge of Denver, CO; one sone, Dennis Quintana of Albuquerque; three brothers, Juan Roybal of Colonias, NM, Cornelio Roybal and his wife, Erlinda of Scottsdale, AZ, and Larry Roybal and his wife, Socorro of Pecos; three sisters, Maria Ruiz and her husband, Antonio of Colonias, NM, Tomasita Rodriguez and her husband, Estevan and Grace Gallegos all of Pecos; her grandchildren, Josephine Martinez and her husband, Frankie and Arlene Pereda all of Grants, NM, and Christina and Angelica Pereda of Denver, CO; a great-grandson, Ernesto Pereda; a special niece, Esther Quintana and her husband, Sixto of Pecos; 11 nieces, five nephews, and numerous great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was a member of the Cursillo Movement in Albuquerque. A visitation will be held Thursday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m. from St. Anthony's Catholic church in Pecos. A Parish Rosary will be recited there at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, morning at 10:30 a.m. from the Santo Nino Church in Lower Colonias. Campbell -- Charles C. (Chet) Campbell, 86, died on December 24, 1999. He came to New Mexico in 1945 with the Manhattan Engineer District at Los Alamos. From 1943 until 1973, Mr. Campbell was involved in the atomic energy program in various administrative capacities. In 1958, for the Atomic Energy Commission (now DOE), he became Area Manager for Sandia and in 1962 for Los Alamos, overseeing the privatization of the town. He retired as Assistant Manager of AEC's Albuquerque Operations Office. After retirement, he served for two years as executive director for Com-Serv (Community Services for the Handicapped). Though a federal employee, Campbell was interested in improving state and local government processes. He served on the NM State Personnel Board, the Governor's Committee on Reorganizing State Government, and the NM Highway Department Task Force. Locally, Campbell also chaired the Committee on Environmental Concerns, was a member of the Environmental Planning Commission, vice chairman of the city-county Air Quality Board, and member of the city-county Manpower Board and the city advisory group on community development. He also served as state president of the Society for Public Administration. In civic affairs, Campbell had been active in organizations for health care and the handicapped, active in the Easter Seal Society for years, serving on its state and national boards of directors, as state president (1966-68) and national president (1977-78). He also served on the boards of directors for Share Your Care, Inc., Hospital Home Health Care, and Community Dental Services. Campbell was also active in NARFE (National Ass'n of Retired Federal Employees), serving on numerous local and state committees, as president of Chapter 80, and several terms as state federation treasurer. He was a member of Rotary club from 1956 and a life member of DAV. Awards included several from USAEC for achievements and the New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award (1970). He was also a Rotary Club Paul Harris Fellow. Campbell was an alumnus of the University of Colorado-Boulder with membership in Beta Gamma Sigma and Beta Alpha Psi honorary societies and Kappa Sigma social fraternity. Chet's wife, Geraldine, preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, Charles Patrick and wife Tamara of Albuquerque, half-brother Michael of Hastings, Neb., and honorary daughter Jane Gurulé of Bernalillo. Cremation has taken place with Sunrise Society in charge of arrangements. Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 10, 4PM, at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Pl. NE, Rev. Chuck Collins officiating. The family requests no flowers, but memorials may be made to the New Mexico Easter Seal Society, 2819 Richmond Dr. NE or other charity.

Davenport -- William (Bill) Porter Davenport, 69, passed away suddenly December 18, 1999, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A private family graveside committal service was followed by a memorial Monday, December 20, 1999, at the First Baptist Church in Socorro, New Mexico. He was born in Danbury, Connecticut and raised in Tucson, Arizona. In 1955, he married Maryon Perry and attended the University of Arizona, graduating in 1960. He worked in industry, among which were Mountain Telephone and Telegraph in Arizona; Safeway stores in Oakland, CA, designing and building their first computer center; and Bank Americard (Visa) in San Francisco, designing and implementing their first national telecommunications system. Bill had an inherent, abiding love of teaching and spent the last twenty years of his professional career as an associate professor of Computer Science at Acadia University, Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Following retirement in 1994, he and his wife settled in New Mexico, first in Albuquerque and then, for the past year, in San Antonio, returning to teaching Computer Science at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in Socorro. Bill was a deeply committed Christian, devoted husband and father, and respected and loved by those who knew him for his integrity, forthrightness and joy of life. He is survived by his wife, Maryon of San Antonio, NM; two daughters, Leslie Fuentes and husband, Marty of Albuquerque, Brenda Schaeffer and husband Brian of Deming; a son, William (Bill) Davenport and wife, Joanne of Nova Scotia, Canada; two sisters, Anne Lovekin and husband, William of Albuquerque, Mary Jaksha and husband ,Larry of Socorro; a brother ,John (Jay) and his wife Betsy of Baldwin Park, CA, and nine grandchildren.

Garcia -- Mrs. Josephine B. Garcia, 54, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 28, 1999. Survived by her loved ones Mrs. Garcia is the beloved wife of 26 years to Mr. Robert Garcia. She is also survived by one daughter, Renee Olivas and husband, Mark; and one son, Celso Garcia and girlfriend, Benetta; her mother, Della Maesteas; three sisters, Myrna D. Chavez, Ida Mae Abeyta and husband, Eugene and Mary Lou Salas; one brother, Daniel J. Maestas, all of Denver, CO; grandchildren, RaeAnn, Celso Jr. and Brianna; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin S.W., with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. at San Martin Church with final viewing at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Dan Farris, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Celso Garcia, Tony Chavez, Tony Garcia, Alejandro Hondo Chavez, George Garcia and Eugene Abeyta Jr. Honorary will be Tommy Garcia, Mark Olivas and Billy Abeyta. Hoover -- Mr. Frank Hoover, 83, of Belen, died Monday, December 27, 1999. He was born April 29, 1916 in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. Frank was on the Board of Directors of Horizon Country Club, a charter member of Belen Elks Club and a member of Rosary International. He was inducted into the Remote-Control Hall of Fame in 1996, because of his pioneer work in the field of electronics Surviving are his wife, Bobbi Hoover, of Belen; a son, C.G. Hoover of Albuquerque; two daughters, Carol Raymond and husband, Frank of Chicago, Illinois, Tobie Arnold and husband, Jim of Mocksville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Frank A. Hoover, Chrissy Cicuto, Carrie Merner, Cristy Arnold, Frank Raymond, Jr., Julie Raymond; and one great-grandson, Nikolas Hoover. A memorial service will be held at St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Belen, at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29th.

Jackson -- James"Jim" Jackson, age 47, died Sunday, December 26, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Sherrey Jackson of Albuquerque; daughter, Crystel Jackson; son, Jaramia Jackson of St. Louis; and mother, Mary Frizzell of Belen. James was an actor and had played a variety of parts in films such as Wyatt Earp, Buffalo Girls, and a newly released film called Lockdown. Cremation has taken place. Johnson -- Edith Mae Johnson died December 20, 1999 at 91 years of age. She was born May 12, 1908 in Evansville, Indiana and was a resident of Albuquerque since 1944. Surviving her are 2 sons, Mr. Ben B. Johnson of Albuquerque, Mr. Meredith G. (Bud) Johnson of Dallas, TX; and a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Emma) Reed of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park on December 22, 1999.

Maestas -- Herman L. Maestas,"The Apple," a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Monday, December 27, 1999 at the young age of 63. A native New Mexican, born in Corrales and a proud member of the Teamsters Local 492 for 32 years. The Super Slab has come to an end,"Come In." Herman was born July 3, 1936 the son of Trancito and Delfina Pacheco Maestas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trancito and Delfina Maestas, his parents-in-law, Manuel and Felicita Sisneros, infant son Mark Maestas and infant granddaughter, Angelica Maestas. Herman is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Sisneros Maestas, two sons, Walter Maestas, Kenneth Maestas and his wife Patricia, four grandchildren, Fabian, Mariah, Marcus, and Alyssa Maestas, one great-grandchild, Izabella Maestas. He is also survived by his sisters, Antonia and husband Casimiro Apodaca and Gloria Maestas, brother, Edmundo Maestas, sister-in-law, Della Thornton and husband Wallace and many nieces and nephews, along with many other family and friends. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday evening, December 29, 1999 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 30, 1999 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Rd. in Rio Rancho. Graveside Service will be provided by the Elks Lodge BPOE #461. Pallbearers will be Diego Garcia, Orlando Cordova, Dave Santillanes, George Quintana, Pro Padilla, and Max Cisneros. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gilbert"Russian Spy" Gonzales, Stewart Babcock, Casimiro Apodaca, David Thornton, Ralph Martinez, Chester Chavez, Bobbie Pacheco, Larry"Pot-O-Gold" Sandoval, Kevin Garcia, Sal Fresquez, John Clark, and Eugene Trujillo.
