Baca -- Mr. Lawrence Baca died Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 44. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Lawrence Baca III; and his sister, Sally Benta. Lawrence is survived by his father, Elias Gallegos; mother, Manuelita Baca; wife, Erlinda Baca; sons, Lawrence Baca Jr. and wife, Cynthia Roman, Margarito Baca and Seymour Baca; daughters, Mary Ann Baca and husband, Michael Sosa and Rose Baca and husband, Vance Chino; four brothers; four sisters; and three grandchildren. Gabriel Baca, Martin Chino and Marisol Sosa. Funeral services for Lawrence will be held on Thursday at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Berger -- Belva Elizabeth Berger, born May 22, 1914. Married to Ervin R. Berger for 57 years. Belva was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ervin R. Berger; son, Richard K. Jackson, son and daughter-in-law, Ervin R. Berger Jr. and Marilyn; daughter and son-in-law, Ann Haltom and Bill; grandchildren, Kathleen Harris and husband, Jeff, Terri Jackson, Robb Haltom, Steven and Wesley Berger; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Davey and Melanie DeLorenzo, Zachary Geiger, Brandon and Bridget Haltom, Michael and Julie Harris; and faithful caregiver, Elvira Gross. Brandenburg -- Margarette M. Brandenburg, 74, a resident of Rio Rancho for 13 years, died September 5, 1999. A beloved wife and devoted mother, grandmother and sister went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday. She is survived by her husband, Jack, of 52 years; her son, Jack W. Brandenburg II of Sanford, FL; her daughter, Susan McCord and husband, Jim of Plano, TX; two grandsons, Matthew McCord and Bryan McCord; sisters, Mary Adkins and husband, Bill of Elephant Butte, NM and Patty Burchfield and husband, Noel of Conway, MO. She is also survived by her aunt, Thelma Wrye and husband, Paul of Albuquerque; and a host of friends. Margarette (Marge) was born in Carrizozo, NM. Upon graduation from Carrizozo High School, she was appointed Deputy County Clerk of Lincoln County. During WWII, she supported the war effort by serving with the Selective Service Department. Her career in US Civil Service continued with tours of duty at Roswell AFB, Sandia Base, with the US Coast Guard in Hawaii as an Aircraft Flight Controller, with the FAA, and with NASA at Cape Kennedy, where she was responsible for the operations manual for the Gemini series of space launches. She was active in the Esplanade Home Owners Association, where she served as treasurer for three years. During her retirement years she found great joy in oil painting. Marge was well loved for her great generosity, kind heart, and hard work. Cremation has taken place. No traditional Memorial service will be held per Marge's request. Marge wished that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 2015 Wyoming Blvd., Suite A, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Cunning -- Frances M. (Brady) Cunning, formerly of Needham, MA and Walpole, MA, died in Albuquerque, September 6. Born in Boston, MA, May 12, 1907. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Cunning. She is survived by children, Mary Cunning of Albuquerque, Nancy A. Brady and husband, Richard of Wrentham, MA, Joseph T. Cunning Jr. and wife, Patricia of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Fran C. Dotoli and husband, Joseph of Darien, CT; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; her sister, Isabel E. Brady of North Andover; and many nieces and nephews also survive her. Denzler -- S.R. Denzler, MD, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died at home early Friday, September 3, 1999. He is survived by one brother, Charles Denzler of Washington State; daughters, Patricia A. Vanderberg and husband, Dr. Richard Vanderberg of Edmonton, Canada and Mary Jo Denzler of Los Lunas; son, David W.R. Denzler and wife, Caroline of Highland, MD; God-daughter, Charlene Wardlow of Santa Rosa, CA; grandchildren, Debbie Hughes of Los Lunas, John E. Hughes III of Albuquerque, and Ian Vanderberg and wife, Rebecca of Halifax, Nova Scotia; great-grandchildren, Amber Jones and Kody Hudspeth; and many family and friends. Dr. Denzler was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary L. Denzler; four sisters; and one brother. He lived a full and interesting life. Dr. Denzler loved being a general practitioner and always said,"We did it all." In his long career, he delivered over 1,000 babies and place many children in loving homes. Born in Jeffersonville, IN, Russ attended college and medical school at Indiana University, where he met Mary. He interned in New Orleans, LA and practiced medicine in Washington State, Houston, Texas, and he owned and operated a hospital in Cañon City, CO. Mr. Denzler was chief physician for Kennecott Copper Corp., New Mexico, before he entered the military. He was a Major in charge of the Eta Jima, Japan base hospital. After his military service, Russ and Mary settled in Albuquerque in 1955. Dr. Denzler joined the staff of Lovelace Clinic, established a private practice, and worked in the emergency room of the Bernalillo County Indian Hospital. He remained in private practice at the office he built on Dartmouth SE until semi-retirement in the early 1970s. For the next decade, Dr. Denzler was medical director of Ridgecrest Nursing Home, and he did Medicare Review at Lovelace Clinic, as well as other medically related tasks. Russ and Mary traveled the globe privately and with the Friendship Force for many decades. He was a 50-year Mason and a member of Temple Lodge #6 AF&AM and an active member of the Ballut Abyad Shrine. Dr. Denzler was president of the Nomads Camping Club and Wagon Master at locations throughout the southwest. In later years, he was very active in the Caravan Club. Since the late 1950s, Russ and Mary were active and loyal members of Central United Methodist Church. Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 11, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at Central United Methodist Church, with Reverend Martha A. Singleterry and Dr. Charles Crutchfield officiating. Garcia -- Eufemia Garcia, 91, a resident of La Jara, NM, passed away Tuesday morning. Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Garcia; one daughter, Lugarda (Lura) Sosa; two brothers, Eustacio Duran, Tomas Duran; two sisters, Martha Montoya and Trini Velasquez. She is survived by two daughters, Carlota Eichwald of Cuba, Rafelita Chacon and husband, Pete of Albuquerque; three sons, Donald Garcia and wife, Mary of Albuquerque, Joe Garcia and wife, Pita of Los Lunas and Danny Garcia and wife, Rita of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Also surviving are three brothers, Antonio Duran of La Jara, Frank Duran and wife, Eleanor of Cuba, and Robert Taylor and wife, Rafelita of La Jara; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Mrs. Garcia will lie in state today, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. also at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 11:00 a.m., also at the church. Interment will follow at Santo Nino Catholic Cemetery in La Jara. Giron -- Mrs. Ida H. Giron, 82, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving family on September 5, 1999. Hansen -- Vincent Wilfred Hansen, 76, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, August 31, 1999. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Hansen of Willmar, MN; nieces, Belinda Hansen, Rebecca Hansen, Christine Shoesmith and Laurel Taylor; and nephews, Gregory Hansen, Mark Hansen and Michael Hansen. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Hansen; and sister, Margaret Hansen. Mr. Hansen was born on September 9, 1922 in Lake City, MN. His parents were Emanuel S. Hansen and Mary Adeline Isabel Crusoe. He served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. Mr. Hansen worked at Sandia Laboratories as a designer of electronic equipment from 1949 until his retirement in 1988. He was a longtime amateur radio operator and enjoyed flying his own airplane. Mr. Hansen was a lifelong Catholic and was active in Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. Maestas -- Dave A. Maestas passed at the age of 80 on Sunday, September 5, 1999, surrounded by his loving family and friend, Victoria Lucero; seven sons, David and wife, Joann, Albert and wife, Lindy, Steve and wife, Sylvia, John, Tommy, all of Albuquerque, Ray Maestas of Roswell, and Charlie Maestas and wife, Marie of Houston, TX; two daughters, Mary Montoya and husband, Danny, and Roseann Montoya and husband, Louie of Roswell. Also surviving are one brother, Fred Maestas of Alamosa, CO; 29 grandchildren; and 41 great-grandchildren. Dave was active in AA for 33 years. Dave was a person who was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all. Ogull -- Louis Ogull, age 87, beloved husband of the late Marion Greenberg Ogull; loving father of Judith I. Kennedy and her husband, George F. Kennedy; devoted grandfather of Lisa A. Kennedy and David R. Kennedy (all of Albuquerque); dear brother of Essie Solof (Hollywood, FL), died September 3, 1999, at home while sleeping quietly. A longtime social and political activist, Louis Ogull fought all his life for civil rights, racial integration, and fair treatment for minorities. Raised in New York City, where he resided until retirement, he began a prolife career reporting for the New York Sun and Bombay Chronicle before accepting a stint in public relations as the first head of PR for the newly formed National Maritime Union. An accomplished student of General Semantics and a vocal political presence and conscience in both the Albuquerque and New York areas, he was frequently solicited and was a familiar contributor to Letters to the Editor and TV commentary in matters of social policy and political position. For many years he was an executive job counselor for THinc, an executive placement corporation in NYC. Surviving him are sisters-in-law, Sue Gilbert (Queens, NY), Helen Sach (Brooklyn, NY), Shirley Pesses (Boca Raton, FL), Evelyn Greenberg (Walnut Creek, CA), Marian Heckler (New York, NY); brother-in-law, Ted Schoenfeld (Cranbury, NJ); and numerous nieces and nephews. Scarlett -- Clyde L. Scarlett, 84, died Sunday, September 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Lena Scarlett of Bacliff, TX; son, Robert Michael Scarlett and wife, JoAnn of Madras, OR; daughter, Patricia Clydell Gilbert of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Dwayne and Michelle, both of Oklahoma, Vance and Terri, both of Albuquerque, Vince, Shan, Renee, Trinie and Katie, all of Madras, OR; and 14 great-grandchildren. Clyde was preceded in death by his first wife, Glory Lorraine Scarlett, December 15, 1968. Sedillo -- Mr. Isaac Sedillo, 72, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family on September 6, 1999. Mr. Sedillo was the beloved husband of 54 years to Mrs. Placida Sedillo. He is also survived by three daughters, Marcella Baca and husband, Bengie, Sofie Gomez and husband, Juan and Rosemary Atencio and husband, Eugene; four sons, Isaac Sedillo Jr. and wife, Dubie, Tony Sedillo and wife, Maria, Jimmy Sedillo and Daniel Sedillo; 31 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Sedillo was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Rd. SW, with visitation after 6:30 p.m. Gabriella Nieto reciting. A Communion service will be held on Thursday morning, 8:30 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with final viewing at the church after 8:00 a.m. Deacon Enrique Padilla officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Manuel Villagran, Eric Gomez, Richard Sedillo, Lorrie Lucero, Patsy Baca and Roselinda Villagran. Vanderveen -- Ann Vanderveen, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 43 years, died recently at her home. She is survived by her husband, Ted F. Vanderveen of the family residence; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David J. Vanderveen; and a daughter, Suzanne Kohnstam. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church here in Albuquerque for over 30 years, where she was a Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie F. Wintermute. Mr. Wintermute had been associated with the McLeod Printing Company for 41 years and was the owner at the time of his death. Wootton -- William P. (Bill) Wootton passed away Sunday morning, September 5, 1999. He may have worked on your car, or you may have seen him at the hockey game, or even run into him at the drag races. He was born on March 13, 1959 in Albuquerque and attended Inez Elementary, Monroe Jr. High, Sandia High School and ENMU-R, graduating with an AAS degree in 1982. He is survived by his parents, William and Shirley; his sister, Leigh and husband, Jim Clemons; brothers, Bruce and Mike Wootton; nephews, Gene and Jerry Clemons; and his niece, Kari Wootton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 1999, at Mount Calvary Mausoleum Chapel.
