Poole -- John F. Poole, 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 41 years, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace (Wynn) Poole. John retired from Metropolitan Life in 1985. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY and moved to Albuquerque in 1958. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a past Grand Knight and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer at UNM Golf Course where he was an avid golfer. He is survived by his children, Andrea Poole and husband, Alex Traube of Santa Fe, John R. Poole of Tucson, AZ, Rochelle E. Howard and husband, Willie, Danette M. Jenkins and husband, Ron, and Erica S. Walden and husband, Waylon, all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Christina and fiance, Mike, Jason, Jessica, Natasha and fiance, Freddie, Christopher, Amanda, Ashley, Brian and Jordan; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Crawford; brother, William J. Poole of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Evelyn Shipston and husband, John of Visalia, CA; and many nieces and nephews, as well as other family and many friends. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Sophie Gurule reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee NE, with Fr. Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Waylon Walden, Ronnie Jenkins, Chris Jenkins, Alex Traube, Mike Cotton, and Jason Poole. Honorary pallbearers will be John R. Poole, Dan Poole, and William Poole. Preusser -- Bill Preusser, 79, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past three years, passed away on Monday, May 10, 1999. Bill was born September 24, 1919, the son of Clarence and Madeline Hertzler Preusser in Bloomington, lIlinois. Bill had been an Advertising Account Executive with the Sacramento Bee Newspaper before retiring. He had been Unit Chairman for one year of the Newspaper Guild, served nine years as tournament Director of the Sacramento Press-Radio/TV Golf, he was one of the original organizers of the club. He was a member of the Carmichael Rotary Club for nine years, one year as a Board Director. He served in the US Army during WWII. Bill was preceded in death by one son, Terry Preusser. He is survived by his wife, Muriel of Rio Rancho; four children, Gary Fuller of Albuquerque, Holli Ritchie of Roseville, CA, Randy Preusser of Rio Rancho, Jody Beals of Sacramento, CA; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Sandoval -- Tomasita Sandoval, a resident of Albuquerque for 36 years, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Padilla and husband, Jerry; granddaughters, Anita Salas and husband, Gilbert Sr., Kateri Padilla and Mary Denise Vigeant and husband, Jim; grandsons, Kyle Padilla and Tyler Padilla, all of Albuquerque; brother, Aniceto Sandoval of Pueblo, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isidro and Trinidad Sandoval Sr.; brothers, Isidro Jr., Jose, Julian, Ignacio, Petronilo and Juan Sandoval; and sisters, Trinidad Ortiz, Mary Gertrude Sandoval and Terecita Naranjo. Tomasita was a member of the Order of St. Francis from the Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows in Las Vegas, NM. She was very active at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church and enjoyed preparing arts and crafts for the San Felipe Church Festival. Tomasita also enjoyed raising children. Mass will be celebrated Friday, 12:00 noon, at San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church, 2005 Plaza NW, Old Town, with Father Leo Lucero, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Stanfield -- Gaylon Jay Stanfield, 58, of Los Lunas, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 1999 in Brandon, Florida. A native of Clovis, NM, she moved to Los Lunas in January 1999 from Brandon, FL. She was a Junior High School math teacher and a member of First Baptist Church of Brandon. She is survived by two sons, Don and Richard Stanfield, both of Albuquerque; a daughter, Sherri Frayer of Albuquerque; her mother, June B. Ezell of Brandon, FL; a brother, Glenn T. Ezell of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Glenna Smith of Brandon, FL; and two grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, at the First Baptist Church of Brandon. Andrews -- Charles L. Andrews Jr., 72, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Tuesday, may 11, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Willene of the family home; sons, Mike Andrews and wife, Stanlie of Albuquerque, and Andy Andrews and wife, Sandi of Mission Viejo, CA; daughter, Connie Collis and husband, David of San Ysidro, NM; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ollie Griffith and husband, Jack of Las Cruces; and brother, Ed Andrews and wife, Alene of Las Cruces. Services will be held Thursday, 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Paul Gleason officiating. Arvizo -- Bertha Arvizo, 57, passed away Thursday, May 6, 1999 at her home in Datil, NM. She was born September 20, 1941 to Delfido and Elvira Jaramillo DeLao in Aragon, NM. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Arvizo; her father, Delfido DeLao of Horse Springs, NM; children, Daniel DeLao of Albuquerque, Manuel Arvizo Jr. of Datil, NM, Elvira DeLao of Albuquerque, Suzy Gurule of Los Lunas, Yolanda Marquez and Alice Chavez, both of Albuquerque; brothers, Johnny DeLao of Reserve, NM, Robert DeLao of Springerville, AZ and Steve DeLao of Oklahoma; sisters, Gloria Ray of Texas, Theresa Pierce of Reno, NV, Lorenza DeLao of Silver City, NM, Linda Aragon of Reserve and Elisa Aragon of Horse Springs, NM; eight grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. She was a beloved mother, loving wife and endearing grandmother. Services will be held Monday, May 17, 1999, 11:00 a.m., at the home of Delfido DeLao in Horse Springs, NM with Deacon Juan Aragon officiating. Interment will be in the Horse Springs Cemetery. Baca -- Aurelio"Abie" Baca, 47, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Friday, May 7, 1999. He was born on January 18, 1952 to Lalo and Gabrelita Baca. He is survived by his daughter, Bernadette Baca and fiance, Eloy Torrez; grandfather, Joe Romero; brother, Andy Baca; and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Baca; sister, Angelina Montoya; former wife, Joanne Lucero; niece, Tina Bezdek; nephew, Andy Baca of Seattle, WA; nephew, Sal Baca; niece, Alicia Montoya of Denver, CO; nephew, Robert Montoya of Grand Junction, CO, niece, Valerie Montoya; niece, Vanessa Montoya; nephew, Andrew Baca; niece, Jasmine Baca; special family friends, Max Baca, Chris and Elieja Cooksey, Georgina Cooksey, The Minitrez Family, and Robert Aragon; and numerous other friends and family. Brown -- Mary Leona Brown, a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999 in a local hospital following an illness. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, James Buster Brown of Albuquerque; one brother, John Childs and his wife, Martha of Dallas, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marguerite Wetherbe. Mrs. Brown was a member of First United Methodist Church. She retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools in 1980 after having taught for 34 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE.

Giroux -- Oleta Waldon Giroux, 78, passed away Sunday evening, May 9, 1999. She was born in Tuttle, OK to James and Helen Waldon, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Clyde; five children, Clyde Jr., Bruce, Sharon Muncy and husband, Roy, Kat and Debbie Chavez and husband, Henry; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack and Bob Waldon. Oleta was the head occupational nurse at Hughes Aircraft Company in El Segundo, CA. After 25 years at Hughes, she retired and moved to Albuquerque where she worked at Lovelace Occupational and Sports Medicine for 10 years. At the time of her death, she was President of the Haskell Foundation. Memorial services will be held Friday, 9:30 a.m., at The Cathedral Church of St. John, 4th Street at Silver SW, with Canon Byron McDougall officiating. Gracie -- Beverly A. Gracie 1933-1999 Beverly Gracie, of Rio Rancho, died on Wednesday, May 12, 1999 at Valle Norte Caring Center in Albuquerque after a long illness. She is survived by her son, Marvin E. Gracie of Albuquerque; her daughter, Kathleen Frappier and grandson, Donald Frappier of Los Lunas; and daughter, Sandra Stoldt (Craig) and grandson, Brian Hawley of Buffalo, NY. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Buffalo, NY. Contributions in her name may be made to the National Alzheimers Association.
