John F. Poole, 75, a resident of Albuquerque for 41 years, died Wednesday, May 12, 1999. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace (Wynn) Poole. John retired from Metropolitan Life in 1985. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY and moved to Albuquerque in 1958. He was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. He was a past Grand Knight and a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus. He was a volunteer at UNM Golf Course where he was an avid golfer. He is survived by his children, Andrea Poole and husband, Alex Traube of Santa Fe, John R. Poole of Tucson, AZ, Rochelle E. Howard and husband, Willie, Danette M. Jenkins and husband, Ron, and Erica S. Walden and husband, Waylon, all of Albuquerque; nine grandchildren, Christina and fiance, Mike, Jason, Jessica, Natasha and fiance, Freddie, Christopher, Amanda, Ashley, Brian and Jordan; and great-granddaughter, Alexis Crawford; brother, William J. Poole of Albuquerque; sister-in-law, Evelyn Shipston and husband, John of Visalia, CA; and many nieces and nephews, as well as other family and many friends. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Sophie Gurule reciting. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee NE, with Fr. Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Waylon Walden, Ronnie Jenkins, Chris Jenkins, Alex Traube, Mike Cotton, and Jason Poole. Honorary pallbearers will be John R. Poole, Dan Poole, and William Poole. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Friday, 6:00 p.m. until Rosary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Assoc.
