Lopez -- "I am but a pale light in the brilliance of your reflection" Anonymous. Beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. Bonifacio (Boni ) Julian Lopez, passed away unexpectedly July 21, 2001. Boni was born November 18, 1939 in Puerto-de-Luna New Mexico and was a long time resident of Albuquerque. He was employed by American Furniture for many years. Mr. Lopez was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at San Martin Catholic Church, 8301 Camino San Martin SW with visitation at the church after 6:30 p.m. Deacon Arcenio Sanchez and Deacon Dan D. Lopez, reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at San Martin Church with final viewing at the church after 10:30 a.m. Father Bill Sanchez, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Andy Lopez, Horacio Lopez, Joe Lopez, Dan Lopez, Robert Lopez, Chris Lopez, George Lopez, Jerry C de Baca, Ernie C de Baca, David Griego in behalf of the late Max Griego. Lynch -- Elaine M. Lynch, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 22, 2001. She is survived by her sister, Kay Baker Gill; her niece, Jan Baker Corzine; her grandnephew, Jim Corzine, and her niece's husband, Norm Corzine. Elaine earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, attended graduate school at the University of Chicago, and received a Masters in Social Work from Denver University in 1960. She was a retired executive with the American Red Cross where she had a distinguished 39 year career. Elaine joined the Red Cross during World War II, during which she served in military hospitals in England and subsequently in field and general military hospitals in France. She then had Red Cross field director assignements in Korea, Japan, Germany and in various military hospitals at bases throughout the U.S., including Sandia Base in Albuquerque. Elaine served as Assistant Director of Red Cross Hospital Services in Vietnam during the Vietnam War and then becamse Director of Reporting in Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, D.C. Elaine completed her career at the local chapter of the Red Cross. After her retirement, she continued serving others through her volunteer work as a board member of both the local chapter of the Red Cross and St. Francis Gardens Nursing Center, and as an active participant in the Assistance League, the Ombudsman Program for the Elderly and the Gamma Phi Beta Alumnae Association, among other organizations. A private memorial service for Elaine will be held at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church with the Reverend Jim Trainor officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the American National Red Cross, 17th and D Streets, NW, Washington, D.C. 20006, or to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.

Montano -- Mr. Rumaldo S. Montano, a loving father and friend to his children, died Saturday, July 21, 2001 in Albuquerque at the age of 87. Mr. Montano is preceded in death by his wife, Cipriana G. Montano and son, Ernest J. Montano. He is survived by his sons, Rumaldo Montano Jr., Leroy "Red" Montano and wife, Tracey; daughters, Rosie Miera, Annabelle Montoya and husband, Ivan, Cecilia Montano, and Mary Montano-Newell and husband, Fred; brother, Joe Montano; sisters, Helen Johnson, Dora Baca, Connie Montano, and Mary Alice Drago; sister-in-law, Rita Romero; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Montano will be held on Wednesday at St. Edwin Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Leroy "Red" Montano, Rumaldo Montano Jr., Fred Newell, Chris Lund, Joey Basey and Robert Miera. Montez -- Richarda (Ricki) Garcia-Montez 51, beloved and devoted mother and wife passed away on July 21, 2001. Ricki was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, she is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Richard Montes; two daughters, Kandace and Savannah Montes; one son, Derick Montes all of Albuquerque; mother and father, Richard and Kandy Garcia; three sisters, Lucille Maldonado, Gloria Giarratano, and Nadine Martinez all of Albuquerque; four brothers, Dan, Steve, Patrick, and Clarence Garcia all of Albuquerque. She worked at Sandia National Labs as an employee of L & M Technologies for a number of years. She was a friend and advocate of the deaf community. A rosary will be recited Tuesday July 24, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Funeral services will be Wednesday July 25, 2001 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery located at 1900 Edith Blvd. NE. Casket bearers will be Max Havelka, John Sanchez, Patrick Maldonado, Danny Garcia, Matthew Montes, and Ethan Zachary Montes. Honorary bearers will be Tony Maldonado and Adam Dealoe. Ricki requested that people wear bright clothing to these services in celebration of her life. Loved by many, cherished by family and friends, she will never be forgotten. Rivera -- Pete D. Rivera 66, Died on July 19, 2001 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 39 yrs., Liz Rivera; daughters, Alice Hurst and husband, Barry of Albuquerque, Patti Robison and husband, Tom of Chandler, AZ; son, Tom Rivera and wife, Susan of Zimmerman, MN; five grandchildren Brandon, Aaron, Joey, Sheri and Ian. He is survived by his mother, Beatrice Martinez of Denver, CO; three brothers and five sisters; childhood friends Candi and Joe"Lori" Martinez. Pete retired from the U.S. Navy in 1970. He began Albuquerque business Plastic Supply & Fabrication in 1976. A rosary will be held on Monday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community Church located at 12500 Carmel Ave. NE, with Father Antonio Mondragon as Celebrant. Burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Rogers -- Betty Kerr Rogers, 58 entered into eternal rest July 20. She is survived by her husband of more than 38 years, Joe Rogers, their daughters and spouses, Sherri and Gerry Corley, Michele and Peter Rivas; and one son, Mack Rogers of Texas; nine grandchildren, Nicole, Rachel and Bobby Matson, Caitlyn and Gwendolyn Corley, Mack's son, Christopher, Celeste, Peter and Timothy Rivas. She also leaves a sister, Carol Kerr Lopez (Blue) and nephew, Travis Kerr. Betty came to Albuquerque in 1962 with the U.S. Women Army Corps. And made New Mexico her home for most of the next 30 years. She was a skilled medical transcriber and is fondly remembered by friends and former co-workers in N.M. and East Texas where she and Joe have resided for the past 10 years. We know her body has succumbed to the ravages of cancer but her spirit and her wry sense of humor lives on in those near and dear to her. Via Condios. Saavedra -- Mrs. Josephine Saavedra, 81, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 21, 2001. She is survived by three daughters, Rosemary Saavedra, Loretta Sanchez and Dolores Dawson and husband, Edward; one son, Edward Saavedra; one brother, Jesus Martinez; three grandchildren: Josephine Sanchez, Maria Saavedra and Christopher Saavedra; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Saavedra was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with visitation after 6:30 p.m., Martha Herrera reciting. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna NW with visitation at the church after 8:30 a.m. Father Roberto Fenzl, celebrant. Salazar -- Mr. Jake (Jacobo) A. Salazar died Saturday, July 21, 2001 in Albuquerque at the age of 83. Mr. Salazar was born in Santa Rosa, NM. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired employee of First Security Bank. Mr. Salazar is preceded in death by his parents, Eliseo and Felipita Salazar; three brothers; and two sisters. He was married to his wife for 63 years. He is survived by his wife, Susie M. Salazar; son, Joe A. Salazar and wife, Nellie; and grandson, John B. Salazar. Funeral Services for Mr. Salazar will be held on Wednesday at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John B. Salazar, David M. Sanchez, Robert F. Chavez, Ken Romero, Joseph E. Chavez and Julian Chavez. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Bartlett and Andrew Romero. Visitation for Mr. Salazar will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Mortuary Chapel. Zachry -- Violette Moore Zachry, 91, died Saturday, July 21, 2001. She is survived by her 12 nieces and nephews. Violette is preceded in death by her husband, W. Ray Zachry, of 42 years. Violette was born June 18, 1910 in Doster, Kansas, the fifth child born to Andrew Jackson and Mary Virginia Moore and the only girl in the family of seven brothers. She attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas and Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois. She received a Bachelor's Degree of Music Education at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas in 1936. She attended graduate school in music at Northwestern University the summers of 1938 and 1939. She taught music in the public school systems of Sedgwick (1936-1938) and Herington (1938 & 1942), Kansas and Dubuque, Iowa (1934-1944). Her talents as a visual artist and as a writer and recorder of history and family memories she discovered late in life. After her husband's death in 1987, and at the age of eventy-nine, she began painting with watercolors and oils. In 1992, at the age of eighty-two, she began writing ¯"The Most Difficult One", an autobiography, which she finished in 1997. Services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2001, 1:30 p.m, at First Presbyterian Church, Dr. Paul Debenport, officiating and assisted by The Reverend Myron White. Baca -- Domitilia Rebecca Baca, 80, a long time resident of Moriarty, NM passed away Friday, July 20, 2001 after a long illness. She was born March 29, 1921 in Duran, NM to Rumaldo L. and Carmelita Vigil-Parraz. She is survived by her sons, David Baca and his fiancee, Nora of Albuquerque, NM, Gilbert and his wife, Lorraine Parraz of Moriarty, NM; her daughters, Rita Anaya of California, Maria L. Romero of Moriarty, NM, Antonia Baca of Moriarty, NM, Linda Horton and her husband, Richard of Sedillo, NM; one brother, Joe Parraz of Albuquerque, NM; her sisters, Mary Chavez of Moriarty, NM, Emilia Gutierrez of Vaughn, NM; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Domitilia was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Baca, her brothers, Vincente, Bacilio, Leo, Andy, her parents, her sister, Linda Clark and her husband, Persona A. Baca. She was known by all as a very loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed by those who knew and loved her. A Rosary will be recited Monday, July 23, 2001, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Moriarty, NM. A Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 24, 2001, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church with Father Anthony Martinez officiating.
